Our practitioners have over 7 years of experience treating pain, injury, infertility, insomnia, migraines, emotional issues, digestion problems, menopause symptoms and many more with great success. We have performed over 90,000 treatments since opening in 2007, and therefore have a lot of experience with many different conditions.

History

Established in 2007.

While in school the owner, Kerri Casey, realized that since acupuncture is a stimulation therapy and most acute conditions take between 6 – 10 treatments to resolve that acupuncture needed to be more affordable. She opened Minnesota Community Acupuncture in 2007 in Edina utilizing the community style acupuncture model where patients are treated in an open space in relaxing recliners. This allows us to treat more patients in our clinics and thereby reduce our cost to the patient per treatment so they can afford to get better and stay better. We have a sliding fee scale of $ 20 — $ 40 a treatment where the patient decides how much they want to pay on the scale based upon their family budget and the number of treatments needed for their condition. (First treatments are $ 25)

Graduated from Boston College with an BA in Psychology. Graduated in 2006 from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN with a Masters in Oriental Medicine. Opened MN Community Acupuncture in 2007 in order to make acupuncture treatments more affordable so everyone could receive the benefits that acupuncture provides. We have given over 90,000 treatments since opening our doors and am still excited about how effectively acupuncture can help with almost all disorders in the body.

Unique and helpful!
I’ve been here 3 times since developing IT band problems recently and it has definitely helped alleviate some pain and inflammation. They have a sliding pay-​scale (i believe $ 20-​$ 40) which is great and Kerri is very gentle and knowledgeable during treatments; I highly recommend her!
The «community» in the name has to do with the fact that you’re being treated in a room with about 15 or 20 chairs, but don’t worry, they’re big comfy recliners and there are panels between many of the seats. It’s surprisingly relaxing in there with the spa-​music, dim lighting, warm blankets… you almost forget that you’re covered head to toe in needles! You might catch someone snoring but I bring my headphones so I can zone out and relax.
This has been my first-​ever experience with acupuncture and I’m glad that I started here. It’s affordable and painless, so give this place a try!

I just had my first treatment last night at MinnCA with Jules. I couldn’t have been more impressed with their thoroughness. I filled out my form and then was asked a number of very detailed questions to determine exactly my situation was.
I found the whole experience to be very relaxing and enjoying, and really look forward to future appointments.
I would highly recommend MinnCA to anyone that is interested in trying reasonably priced acupuncture at a reputable location.

I’ve never had acupuncture before, so this was a very new experience to me.
As other reviews stated — this is conducted in a group setting, which I knew prior to setting my appointment so it wasn’t a surprise to me. I have a hard time focusing on myself and relaxing when others are talking or making noise around me, so I prepared myself by bringing my iPod/​ear buds with to drown out the noise around me.
The practitioner was very nice, and seemed very knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable being it was my first experience. I only have a couple «negative» items that detracted from my experience and perception of Minnesota Community Acupuncture:
1. I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment with my new patient forms already filled out (as was instructed on their website); however after being escorted into the treatment room and having a seat I waited for nearly 15mins to be seen. This was rather awkward for me, but I imagine it’s unavoidable depending on how long the practitioners other consults take.
2. After I left my treatment I was feeling very good, and relaxed. I was meeting a girlfriend for lunch that same day, and on my way to her house my ankle was really itchy. When I got to her house I checked and there was still one of the acupuncture needles stuck in my ankle! It was bent from when I rolled my pant leg down after the treatment, but luckily it didn’t break off in my skin or anything. Definitely not a good 1st impression!
Overall, I am going to give it another shot in hopes my 2nd experience is better than my 1st since I am very keen on the potential health benefits of acupuncture.

It’s a funny place, hidden way back in an industrial park. I’m always greeted warmly. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE You then enter a darken room full of recliners, stumble into one take off shoes, socks, roll up pant legs to knees, roll sleeves to elbow and try to wait patiently. When they get to you they always listen carefully to you and treat you accordingly. I take my own music but you might need earplugs (which they do supply if you ask) because most everyone falls asleep and that means… SNORING!!! Before you fall asleep tell then when you have to leave.
Oh, I almost forgot my most fave thing… you can completely set up your appointments online.
If you go you’ll never guess who I am, cuz I’ll walk by you pain free and looking like there’s nothing wrong with me.

This place is fantastic. Period. A friends mom referred me and i was a bit leary of treatment in a group setting. When I arrived and entered the treatement area it was very calm and intimate. The practitioners are extremely thorough and share their knowledge of healing hostically, not just acupunture. Because of the hours and the cost (sliding scale of $ 15 – 40) I have been able to go enough times to start to relieve back pain that I have had daily for 3 years straight. I am so thankful this place and these people exist. Please try this.

After my original acupuncturist closed her practice in Minnetonka, I found MinnCA via a Living Social deal. Yay!!!
I was used to the community style of acupuncture and found the practitioners here to be excellently trained, knowledgeable and extremely professional. They have also prescribed traditional Chinese herbal medications for some of my ailments that worked wonderfully.
The community room is very comfortable, relaxing and serene. Many patients sleep through their treatments while listening to soft music. (Me too)
They offer a $ 15-​$ 40 sliding-​fee scale, which makes treatments here affordable and allows me to come regularly.
My husband is going through chemo for cancer and finds visits to MinnCA to be a helpful part of his weekly regimen, making the effects of the chemo treatments much more tolerable.
I will continue to be a patient at MinnCA and would recommend them to anyone who is seeking an alternative option to expensive traditional medicine and big-​buck overpriced medical clinics.

Had my first encounter there from a Living Social deal. I was a little wary — acupuncture in a group setting? In chairs? However, even though I see it as non-​traditional it was a good experience. Everyone is very kind. Took time to ask me about my ailments and then place needles accordingly. Because the treatment is with you reclined as opposed to laying down the needles are focused on your arms, hands, legs and feet. According to my specialist this is another way of accessing your meridians without putting needles directly on the affected areas.
My pain (mainly back) was somewhat relieved and I will be going back. Not just because of my living social deal but because of their sliding fee scale, making acupuncture an affordable regular health practice.
