History

Established in 2013.

Spruce Flowers and Home opened it’s first shop in South Minneapolis in 2010 and has been serving the neighborhood with all things floral since. Whether creating lush and romantic flowers for weddings and events, or helping someone pick out flowers for the anniversary, we have enjoyed being a part of the community and bringing smiles to people’s faces with flowers. In August of 2010, we opened our second neighborhood shop in Downtown Edina at 50^th and France.

What started out as a nice little high school job at a small family-​owned flower shop turned into a lifetime passion for owner Amy Backman. The beauty of the flowers, and what they do for people has been an inspiration since that first after school job. Honing her design sensibilities and business skills at leading locally owned businesses during her career, in 2010 she decided to follow her dream and open Spruce Flowers and Home. Being able to create a business from scratch, design on a daily basis, help people enrich their lives with flowers, and be part of the communities Spruce serves has been an amazingly rewarding experience.
