My favorite place to come and wind down! I love their beer, everything is fresh and so amazing. The owners are respectful and welcoming! The staff is really great as well, they are very professional at what they do.

If you’re interested in checking out a small, Jersey local brewing company, Cypress Brewing is a very awesome place within Central Jersey. Offering up the availability to come in and fill up a growler or two, or just simply sit with a few friends at a small bar and get to know new friends, Cypress offers a small getaway from the work week.
The beer selection is great with various styles to choose from. If you are indecisive, then get a cheap flight of four beers racked and ready to roll for you. Also, the pints are cheap here and range from $ 5-​$ 8 bucks, plus they have the growlers that you can pick up their or bring your own which is great for the craft beer lover that can’t always make it out to the bar for the evening. For me, I enjoy their IPA selections, with Insane in the Grain as one of my personal favorites, but I also enjoy their West Coast and Black IPA’s as well.
The staff is very friendly and small; when I was there, it was the bartender, Danielle, and one of the brewers’ mothers, running the entire operation out of a small warehouse with a few stills and walk in fridge smaller than some bedrooms I’ve lived in. The awesome thing with Cypress is they’re always messing around and trying new things so when you go into the bar area, there may be a few beers that you’re simply not going to get anywhere else. Be it a Peaches & Cream lager, Vanilla Imperial Porter, or a Double Chocolate Imperial Oatmeal Stout, they’ve always got something different going on.

So glad my girlfriend and I heard about this place! It might not be in the best location for someone to stumble upon, but it should definitely be on everyone’s list.
The tasting room/​bar is pretty small. Only about 3 tables with a few stools around the wall and at the bar, but who really needs room anyway. The man behind the bar, who I assume to be one of the owners was incredibly friendly and took all the newcomers on a tour of their facility and explained the history behind the name and beer making.
If you’re in the area and want great beer at good prices and free pretzels, then Cypress is the place to go!

Found out about this place through a friend over facebook, I live in Edison so I thought I’d check it out. You would have never guessed this place was so clean, and comfortable inside based off where it is located. The staff was super knowledgeable and knew their stuff. The beer was really good, and the prices were very fair. Only issue I had was how warm it was inside, other than that, no complaint. Place had great music, two large tvs and comfortable seating. I can not wait to go back again!

Very cool place! It’s small with 3 tables and a bar but clean, new, and updated. Came in with no expectations and the beer was surprisingly really good. I recommend doing a sampler to try all of the different beers on tap.

Good selection of craft beer. Don’t be fooled by the location which is basically in an industrial office park, great brews have to start somewhere! Hope they continue their expansion and we can get some cypress beers a little easier. Def try the flight of 4 beers to get a good taste of what you might like. Very reasonably priced so you can pick your full pint after you try! Will go back soon :)!

A very different non commercial experience. I wouldn’t rate it or categorise this place in the usual ‘brewery ’ category. This place gives you a personal and homely feel because of the way it is set up. The owner is nice and cute. He shows you the brewery which is a plus. It’s your local hangout place to go with your best bud. You can bring your food as well which makes it very homely.

I heard about Cypress from a friend and since I was kind of in the area I decided to check it out. The Cypress tasting room looks like a strip mall store front in a warehouse. However, once inside it was cozy and welcoming. I was excited to see their selection of beers– especially the «naughty» and «nice» beers. It was $ 6 for a flight of 4 tasting glasses and we were off. These were really good beers, and each had a significant difference in taste and flavor. I mention that because some breweries’ beer, although different in style, seem to carry certain traits across the tap line. Not here. The «Nice» brew for example was made with ginger candy made by the brewery. The «Naughty» beer was brewed with hot peppers and another one was made with sweet potato. That attention to the ingredients was well noticed throughout our tasting and why we bought a growler of the «Nice.» We never felt rushed or pressure to hurry. We just sat there enjoying our beer and the bowl of pretzels. This was a solid recommendation and find and hope to visit again for another tasting and growler fill up.

I had sampled some Cypress Naughty Chocolate Stout at an Office Christmas party last week and the next day drove over to pick up 3 Growlers of my own. I had the opportunity to sample several of their craft beers and converse with the brewmaster and these guys are developing some fantastic local NJ craft brews. The tasting room is small but cozy, clean and not pretentious. These Jersey guys love to talk beer and share their craft and fear not if you have no idea what or how a craft beer is made they are happy to share their insights and guide your palate.

Had some time to kill before a business dinner and I’m always on the lookout for breweries so I ended up here. One of the best finds I have had in a while.
Facility is nothing special but the beer is top notch. Hospitality was up there as well as we were given a tour and a thorough description of all the beers we drank.
Definitely looking forward to getting back to this place.

Went here Friday night after work and had a great experience. If you’re in the area, it’s a great place to stop by before going to dinner. As seems to be the case in New Jersey, it is located in and industrial park that was easy to find and had ample parking.
The beers are great and the owner is very knowledgable in the art of brewing craft beer. He gave us a tour of the facility, and we found the place to be very clean and the equipment all brand new.
The beers have progressive flavor profiles, deep colors, and good rotation. The owner Charlie, was very friendly and seems to have very good taste in both hospitality and décor. Free pretzels, bars stools, high-​top tables, 2 TV’s, and nice background music make you feel right at home. More like a good local bar, than an industrial feel. And to top it all off, growlers to go! What more could you ask for?
In all, a very good experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Finally, a good Brewery located in my area that is not named J.J. Bittings (even though 2 of the Brewers work[ed] for them)! As stated, Cypress is located in an Industrial Park as many in NJ are, but you would never know once you step foot into the tasting room. The room is modern, average sized, about 4 – 5 round high top tables with a bar area that can seat roughly 6 people. There are two TVs as well behind the bar, so that was a bonus, especially if local games are on when they run specials.
One of the brewers working when I went was extremely nice and interactive. He was very open for suggestions on what you like, what you don’t like, and what he is experimenting with. He was very eager to show you his set-​up in the back. While a small operation, it is extremely clean and spacious, definitely a lot of room to expand as demand increases.
Support your local brewers! Beer was great and prices are fair. Cypress is also a member of New Jersey Craft Beer as well as offer discounts to Emergency Services & Military. Don’t forget growler! If not, purchase one on site.

I’ve found that some of my favorite breweries are located in industrial parks, and that is NOT something that should scare you. They have nice big roads that make it easy to get to (since there are a lot of trucks coming and going during the week), plenty of parking so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot, and perhaps most importantly plenty of space for the brewers to do their thing. Cypress is what you might call a nano brewery as their setup is quite small scale, however that definitely affords the ability to experiment and try new things that larger breweries might not be able to do. All of the beers that I’ve had from this place have been top notch, but their 17 mile IPA has to be my favorite with a HUGE hop kick. Love the fact that one of the owners is usually tending the bar and giving tours, you can get such a better appreciation for the process they go through when they can speak from experience. Definitely bring a growler to take some home with you and don’t be afraid to try a few new brews if you’re not quite sure what to get.

Tired of drinking the same old watered down beer that your daddy and grandaddy have been drinking since the beginning of time? Try some craft brewed beer and while you’re at it, pay a visit to Cypress Brewing Company, who happens to be in the Class of 2015 of new breweries to open its doors in the garden state.
My buddies and I only work about 10 mins from here and decided to pay them a visit one day after work. They are located a bit off the beaten path but not too far from Route 1 and Middlesex County College. The tasting room has a few tables as well as a bar and a small TV. We sampled some beers and were then given a tour of the brewhouse. The owners/​brewers are really cool guys. In fact, I was even told that I could come brew with them anytime that I wanted.
After the tour, we sampled a few more beers. I especially enjoyed the Double Chocolate Imperial Oatmeal Stout and English Nut Brown Ale. They also had an IPA, West Coast IPA, Irish Red, Amber and Hefeweizen.
These guys are still relatively small but it seems like they have a lot of room to grow especially in Middlesex county. Cheers to craft beer.

This review is for the beer and staff. the venue is not really accomodating for hanging out (air comditioning was awful, very small, only 1 TV). Beer selection and prices were awesome. Had Nut brown ale there which was great. Nice tour, very clean, but man was it hot. Took home growler of Oatmeal stout, which I have had and is really good, plus the family loved the root beer. Will be back to fill the growler.
