Founded in 1984 by Dr. Joseph Lombardi, the Edison-Metuchen Orthopaedic Group has grown to be a comprehensive, regional orthopaedic practice with top-notch surgeons in all orthopaedic subspecialties and multi-lingual support staff.

Business Owner
After earning his undergraduate degree from Rutgers College in New Jersey, Dr. Joseph Lombardi received his Medical Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He served an internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York prior to completing his five-year Orthopaedic residency at the NJ College of Medicine/UMDNJ. He continued his subspecialty training with a fellowship in Lumbar Spinal Surgery at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in California. Returning to New Jersey in 1984, Dr. Lombardi began his private practice now known as the Edison-Metuchen Orthopaedic Group. He is the senior and founding member.
Dr. Lombardi has had extensive training and experience in all aspects of lumbar spinal surgeries including laser disk decompression and injection techniques to alleviate spinal pain. He is on staff at JFK Medical Center, having served there as Assistant Chief of Surgery and, for many years, as Department Chief. He is a member of the American Academy o
