L & G Tree Service

What bums me out after seeing the Business Owner’s response that the Home Owner was «aware» — it is again poor business practice. I was home the entire time the work was being performed. The Home Owner was only aware of what she asked L&G to do, remove the trees and clear the debris and take the wood off the property. This was what the Home Owner was aware of, that these services were to be executed by L&G — the Home Owner was NOT AWARE that L&G after realizing they did not have the final piece of the puzzle locked in (the removal of the wood) would then place a pubic ad to have anyone come to my residence, pull their truck on my front lawn and begin hauling off wood. And L&G were long gone when people began to show up, L&G was NOT here to assist loading. The Business Owner requested that I delete my review — again, bad business practice. This should have been a learning experience for the Business Owners and an opportunity to improve their services. Clearly that is not their concern. Any business that counters a bad review with language indicating the reviewer is not knowledgeable about the experience shows customer satisfaction is not their strong suit. I am not the only reviewer to give L&G a low rating, this should be indicative of the service provided. It should also be noted that anyone reviewing is going to state their personal experience, this was mine, and I detailed it accurately as it occurred. And I am very close with the Home Owner and feel confident speaking on their behalf as well with regards to this incident.

I just noticed one of the business representatives (Pamela) asked me to state the facts.
Fact #1: It took over two months and multiple calls for L & G to finally come service my tree
Fact #2: The price was incredibly expensive compared to other tree services
Fact #3: I am not in the habit of holding back payment because I give people the benefit of the doubt and Steve said he would come back to remove more limbs
Fact #4: Yes, Steve did say he would come back and cut more of the tree when he was back on the Eastside, however I never heard back from him after that, which was what prompted me to write the review in the first place
Fact #5: You have 1.5 stars with five reviews on Unilocal.Clearly there is a trend here of very dissatisfied customers. Perhaps you should spend less effort refuting the negative reviews and more effort into the actual work that you perform.

I will try my best to be partial here.
For one, L&G performed very well removing a tough tree from a hard landscaped/​fenced area that bordered 5 different properties. The workers they employed were extremely competent in this field, and even cleaned up to a decent extent at the end (though not completely by any means).
However, since the tree was removed along multiple property lines, my neighbors volunteered their yard to be the staging point for chipping and removal. Steve indicated that all debris would be hauled to the front yard (from the back yard), since we agreed that the backyard gate was not wide enough for them to fit their truck through. Well, fit it through they did, and damage the double-​wide gate they did. Upon confronted with this fact, Steve proposed some slap-​stick measures to «fix the gate» which were never even followed up with. This obviously upset my neighbor’s very much, and was a headache to resolve for us.
Case and point for L&G; they remove trees well, but they will not spend even a cursory amount of time or effort for the things they damage. And to be fair, they are a professional company that performs extremely well within their core competencies… just be prepared to fix or pay for any damages incurred with landscape or hardscape’s (I would particularly be concerned about built structures, though we had none close to our removal area beyond fences).
Hopefully this helps others understand this company. Frankly, with their pricing structure, I can’t really blame them for not following through 100%…or even 80% of what they promise. Taking out a tree, or trees, is a huge process, and it really is surprising that more accidents don’t happen when tree-​removers do it. For L&G’s cost, they are cheap but effective in my opinion… but expect what you pay for. You will have a tree (s) removed, but most likely things won’t be intact after the way they promise you up front.
4 stars for tree removal process, since the team that removed our trees was extremely competent, and even fun to converse with; 0 – 1 star for client satisfaction/​clean-​up & repair process. This = ~2 stars give or take, hence my review rating.

A Person with a Tree Removed

I used L & G Tree Service to cut some trees. They quoted me a number but failed to point out to me that it was for four hours exactly. I added some shredding, chatted with the tree cutter and was shocked when I was billed for 2 extra hours. Make sure to understand that if you use them.

Having a big yard I normally keep the shredding to spread around my plants. Steve, the owner offered to bring me better looking chips instead of the green chips that I had. I accepted but never saw that happen. I followed up a few times but finally gave up. Now I have no chips at all.
They did a good job but I don’t think I will use them again.

Never again! Crew left big mess and damaged landscaping. Did not cut wood to lengths as agreed upon. Did not cut trunks to 3″ from ground as agreed upon. Damaged neighbors plants. Damaged our fence. Steve was not cooperative at all.
