Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus– For highly motivated patients, we offer extensive experience with insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. Our goal is to provide adequate resources to enable you to achieve your desired degree of control. Prevention of serious hypoglycemia is of paramount importance. We encourage frequent home blood glucose monitoring. We are proactive in prevention and treatment of diabetic complications. We work with local cardiologists, podiatrists, neurologists, and nephrologists to help care for potential diabetic complications. We are pleased to take advantage of Swedish Edmonds excellent diabetes education programs, including evaluations by nutritionists, diabetes educators and structured diabetic education classes. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus– The underlying cause of Type 2 diabetes mellitus is inadequate insulin production of Insulin from the pancreas, and an abnormality in the body? s ability to utilize Insulin properly, known as Insulin Resistance.
