Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edwardsville

Traveled here with three other families (relatives). We stayed for three days. Breakfasts were a great value (included). Used the workout room and pool… very nice. I recommend staying here.

I had the unfortunate experience to stay at the Holiday Inn Express — Edwardsville. My plans changed and I needed to check out 1 day early. I gave the hotel more than 24 hours’ notice and then they told me I had to cancel through the HI reservation system. I called the HI reservation system and they said the hotel itself had to cancel. After several more interactions, telephone calls (losing several hours of my life), I was told by the manager and the HI reservation system that it would be addressed. Several week later, I still don’t have a refund AND now the hotel says I did not check out early… more phone calls and wasted time, the hotel did acknowledge that I checked out early but still no refund. Do not stay here.
I am a platinum member and because of this experience will not use any of the Holiday Inn facilities any longer.

The place is very attractive. Beds are comfortable. However, no hot water this morning. When we spoke to the desk, they asked «3^rd or 4^th floor?» And then responded, «yeah we are looking into it.» No doubt this will be fixed but the lack of understanding that I paid money for a pleasant experience and didn’t seem to be concerned that I was walking out disappointed means we won’t be back.

My son (2 y/​o) and I recently traveled to Illinois to meet my mom and dad (coming from South Dakota) for a visit to my aunt and uncle and cousins out here. We looked at a few hotels in this area and BY FAR this was the NICEST! I stay at a lot of hotels (i travel for work and personal quite a bit) and this one felt like a luxury hotel from the moment you walk in. It’s extremely clean, very well cared for, and the staff are definitely professionals.
We booked our room and requested adjoining rooms. They were full for the night so we agreed to check in the next day (and stayed at a much WORSE venue the first night… different review). They were very honest and clear that they could not gaurantee the rooms would be adjoining but would know the next morning. The next morning we brought our luggage over when we checked out of the other hotel and they let us keep it all in their luggage room. We asked at that time (around 11) if we would be able to get adjoining rooms and were told that we would. At 3 pm we came back to check in and were told that we were not in adjoining rooms. We were very disappointed and requested to speak with a manager. The manager was PHENOMENAL — she was very sincere in her apology, agreed to compensate us for the hassle, and ask the person working in the am to try to get us adjoining rooms. The staff person who was helping us was also very patient (my dad was pretty upset since he doesn’t get to see his grandson). The next morning, they moved us to adjoining rooms and all was right with the world.
In terms of the other benefits of this hotel: the breakfast was great and the staff were very attentive to keeping it clean an full. The pool was very nice — though a bit chilly — and the workout room was very nice and clean. We also did laundry since we were there for 5 days and that was super clean as well. OH… the rooms were VERY VERY nice and the housekeeping staff were FANTASTIC! Ours even made a little puppy out of the towels for my son!
All in all, we LOVED staying here and will do so any other time we are back in the area!

Greeted by Cellus at the front desk with a smile and upbeat personality! This place still smells brand new! Comfy bed with your choice of soft or firm pillows. I can already tell I’m going to sleep well! My husband and son are excited they have pancakes for breakfast here, I’m excited because they have a variety! The pool is open until 10pm so bring your suit and enjoy your stay! I will book again!

This hotel was very accommodating. After needing to change locations after arriving at another hotel that just was not safe due to the amount of construction that was happening there, the hotel staff here got us in and in a room that large enough for my family. It is clean, warm breakfast, quiet, and in a great location. Easy to get to St. Louis and many restaurants, stores, and other things to do.

This hotel has revived my faith in Holiday Inn. This was the hotel we stayed in for the weekend wedding of a friend. My first thought was: wow, this place is really clean. And it was, sheets, ALL towels, mirrors, cabinets, etc… CLEAN! I was very happy with that and after my usual hotel room inspection, I found this place to be really clean. Had both firm and soft pillows so the spouse and I slept wonderfully. They have super powerful toilets (I will not expound on this). I only wish breakfast was longer. Due to my excellent sleep, I could meet the free breakfast time block. Other perks included: laundry, sundries, fitness center, clean pool, business center. Yep, I hope to book at another location that is equally well kept. Staff was also nice. Only 2 cons that were remedied quickly: the television wasn’t working when we arrive and didn’t get back up until the next day. No biggie cause we don’t watch a lot of TV. The room key card kept de-​magnetizing. Fixed by not allow you phone and key cards in the same place. Next time we visit, we will confidently bloom here.

It’s a rare occasion when you book a hotel room in your own town. In this case, it was for family staying my daughter’s wedding weekend. It’s the «new» option in E’ville, next to the Nature Trail, therefore easy access to Madison County’s extensive paved bikepath system. It’s a quick walk to Sonic for snack, and not much further to Bella Milano, Wang Gang, and other options across the street (or through the Nature Trail tunnel, and left). Rooms were clean, service was fine, parking is easy.

Very clean and spacious. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and courteous! The breakfast was hot and delicious. The little pancake maker was cool! There are a variety of yummy restaurants from Asian to Mexican to BBQ and Italian just across the street. We would definitely stay here again!
