I can’t argue about what others wrote, as I weren there when they were. I will comment on my recent 30 day stay though.
Nick at the front desk, was an incredible help to me and others in my group on a daily basis. He could not have given better customer service. he definitely went above and beyond. There were also 2 ladies that worked the front desk, and for the life of me, I cant remember their names, but they did a phenomenal job as well,
The housekeeper that took care of our second floor rooms was the nicest woman, efficient, friendly, always made sure we had everything we needed, even if she passed us in the parking lot or saw us at the gas station next door,
Our rooms were clean, well maintained, and we had no issues.
I would stay there anytime… and I am on the road 12months out of the year.

Well let’s just say the maids don’t do there jobs and stock the Kleenex. When you pay for a room with a jacuzzi tub you expect it to work. Totally BS…

It’s a basic motel. It provides shelter. We had clean sheets and towels in room 135. The walls are thin and you might hear your neighbors. The plastic tub shower was acceptable. Soap, shampoo, and lotion provided. No conditioner.
No visible pests or bugs as reported by other reviewers. It’s located adjacent to a Chevron station so you can pick up some drinks/​snacks there. You may also notice random traffic/​people coming through. I didn’t see anything unsafe.
We came here on a last minute booking through Kayak/​Last Minute Travel. The website failed to process our reservation correctly. It was President’s weekend and Valentine’s day so there were no vacancies. Luckily, Nic at the front desk was resourceful in helping us get a room at a rate that was better than what I had originally tried to book. I was grateful to have a place for my family to rest after a long day. (+ one * for Nic’s above and beyond service)
There is a continental breakfast with waffles, pastries, turkey sausage, instant oatmeal, cereal, whole fruit, milk, hard boiled eggs, concentrate juices, and coffee. Be sure to have your voucher for the breakfast.
If you’re used to 4 – 5 star resorts you probably won’t be happy here. If you are a flexible traveler looking for modest short term accommodations at a reasonable price this should suit your needs.

Ear piercing alarm goes off at 630 in the morning in the whole building and management doesn’t answer the phone till 30 minutes later. When we finally contacted them they said Alarm went off by nature and that at least we know the alarm works ! We don’t pay good money to know that their alarm works ! We got no sleep thanks to this n hotel manager Publo Sum gave no apology and said that’s how it goes ! Stay away from this shitty hotel

PABLO the manager. Refused to do anything about a room that smelled like crap
MARIA the house keeper is a liar saying she smelled it but it was something we did to make it smell when she went to check the room out

Cancelation is 48 hours in advance (even if you make it less than 48 hours in advance) and per Pablo even if a family member were to pass away it would be impossible to cancel the reservation with less than 48 hours notice how nice
Cooperate best western was no help at all

Pablo refused to provide us with owner info that he was the highest a complaint could go
I would never stay there again !!!

My family and I had the misfortune of spending the night in this dump of a hotel. I had made my reservation 2 days prior, unfortunately i did not pay close attention to the fine print that my reservation could not be cancelled within 48 hours. I still gave it a shot 42 hours before check in and was told there is no way we could cancel.
My wife asked the manager Pablo if we could cancel and said no its out of his hands and would be against policy. My wife called corporate but bw could not do anything. My wife asked pablo if something tragic would happen to her mom could she then cancel. Pablo told her not even a passing of a member could warrant cancellation. Having worked in the industry i was shocked to what he told my wife.
We checked in the next day and sucked it up but got a room that smelled terrible, like vomit. The hotel is by a noisy freeway so even keeping the windown open did not help. I was going to ask and move rooms but we were exhausted.
The next day we mentioned this to Pablo. He immediately got defensive and said he couls not give us a discount because we tried to cancel a day before. Lol. I mean we didnt even mentioned we wanted a discount plus it was nice
To see that my folio identified me not as a bw member but the guy that complained to cancel. We asked him to send a maid to check the stinky room. He did but she was on the phone with him and said the room did not smell before and that maybe we did something. Lol my wife and i have great jobs And have travelled the world. Never have i beem treated like this. We then proceeded to have the joke of a breakfast they had. More
Up to econo lodge standard then a best western.
Pable then offered us a free night. We asked for the owners number but he said he runs the show and that the owner barely ever comes.
This treatment was uncalled for,
I barely ever write reviews but it is my duty as a traveler to warn others about this dump. It smells bad, dont even think of cancelling its by a noisy freeway and the breakfast sucks.

First, it started with reservations. I was told I could use my card to book but that I could pay cash at the desk. I was charged 2 days later & when I called I was not given a reason… that’s just policy. At Check in I was hit with a deposit, that wasn’t discussed at the time I booked the room. My room had to be inspected before I could check out… really??? The room smelled like mildew, the freeway noise is horrible & to make it the worst experience ever, I have over 25 bites to my face, arms, hands, stomach & back, legs & feet. BED BUGS! When I called to report this I didn’t ask for a refund or a credit as I wanted this to be taken seriously, I never received an apology. Nothing! I did get a thank you, I guess that was just robot mode & no comprehension of what was just said… no BEST WESTERN, thank you for the worst experience ever! Do not stay here! BED BUGS!!!

Well, it kept the elements off our heads and the staff was kind. We knew what we were getting into so suffice it to say, 2 stars… bed, plumbing, wifi and breakfast. S’ok.

For three college kids looking for a cheap hotel near the beach, this was great. 20 mins away from the beach was nice. The room was pretty clean. The air conditioning wasn’t the best. The continental breakfast was good and it was in a safe area!

I’ve stayed there once and i’m sure it’s gonna be the last.
First of all, the front desk guy was pretty rude, gave me rates way higher than the rates I got from their website, said that the system is currently down so they cannot charged cards and cash is the only way to pay! When it comes to the room, it was average or may be less than that, dirty bathroom, disgusting fridge and no Wifi.
Do urself a huge favor and stay away from this place.

was pretty clean we haven’t started itching yet, we did however see the crackhead in the grass as mentioned before however it was three of them, cant quite call me them crackheads, maybe they were just pretend crackheads… you know undercovers there to protect the paying customers… just kidding you get wut you pay for the door locks and the air is cold

Room reeked of marijuana as soon as we walked in.
This is definitely a «34 $ no tell motel» at best.
their rates at almost 3xs this are ridiculous and embarassing — seriously, even the receptionist looked embarassed when asking how our stay was.
bed was lumpy, there were long winged flies on the comforter, shower would not get hot — really didnt even want to take my clothes off to get in there anyway, since the shower walls were DIRTY.
my boyfriend is a trucker and has stayed at some dumps — he could not believe the price these people have the nerve to charge, the inferiority of the room, etc.
If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would.

Total dive. Witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot. Water was shut off in the entire hotel TWICE during our stay. Crackhead sitting on the grass in the driveway. Keep looking, this place is a ripoff at any price.

I should have kept looking… The floor might have been softer than the bed. Had to leave the window open to get the old, dusty smell out of the room. However, that made the room so loud from the freeway onramp noise, sleeping was nearly impossible. Bathroom shower seemed a little dirty. Didn’t see an elevator but there could have been one. Location is very convenient; gas, food, freeway all right there.

Even though low ratings on Unilocal I’d have to disagree for the most part with the bad reviews. It’s not the Hilton but if your traveling and looking for a place that is clean and roomy, this is the hotel for you. If you’re looking for a vegas quality hotel then look elsewhere. I’d recommend to any traveler on a budget to stay here if you want a nice room at a reasonable price.

Was suppose to be here 2 nights, but after finding BED BUGS! Then being told it was a flea! I was finally able to convince staff after moving beds and finding 10 more. After a room change and all my clothes washer (supposedly in hot water and hot dryer) I got 2 bags of wet clothes and left. NEVER AGAIN! And the wifi sucked, but that’s the least of my worries!

As a Best Western Rewards member, I have come to expect reasonable rooms from Best Western. Not here. The room was run-​down (although clean), the heat/​air conditioning did not work, it smelled like it was a smoking room last week. Overall, a poor experience. The WiFi requires a user name and password from the office, which they neglected to give us. The price was fairly low — now, I know why. We won’t return here.

I wish I would have checked Unilocal before I booked this place. Hotel description online is deceiving. It says it’s the «highest customer satisfaction in the city of El Cajon». It also says it has «95 newly appointed guest rooms». Where were those rooms? I felt like I was in the 70s.
I always try hard to find the positives in whatever I review or wherever I go in general. So here are the PROS:
–easy access to freeway
–close to places to eat (Denny’s is right across the street)
–gas station across parking lot, great for grabbing a drink or picking up something that was forgotten while packing.
–shampoo and soap provided in hotel room
CONS:
–front office staff is rather rude
–room has a funky stench to it
–shady people hanging out in the parking lot
–furniture, décor, paint all are outdated and filthy
–electrical outlets are all loose, phone charger would not stay in. EVERY one of them in the room is loose.
–back slider door opens up to a aqueduct along the freeway onramp. Loud and noisy.
–not in a family friendly area of town
By the way, I didn’t stay for the breakfast so I can’t comment on whether that was good or not. I’m glad I only needed to stay one night or I would of just left and took the loss. Posted a couple of pics, but too bad you can’t post smells! After reading the reviews (which like I mentioned I wish I would have done so before I booked) it wouldn’t have done much good to complain to the front desk, they don’t seem like they care one way or another anyway.
This is the worst BW I have stayed in, such a disappointment.

Got 3 rooms. Pull out couch beds were dirty or missing sheets so we requested new sheets for all of them, but only one staff member working (1 am) so took about 25 minutes to get sheets. He was very friendly though. They don’t have an exercise room anymore, got rid of it a few months ago. Continental breakfast included an assortment of breads, cereal, sausage, waffles, coffee, juices, hard boiled eggs. Staff was extremely friendly and nice.

worst hotel ever! Very strong smell in the room. Asked for a different room but they told us: «like or not that is the only room» We could not stay in this hotel and end up booking an other hotel. We went to front desk and ask them check us out. she said: «since you prepaid for 2 nights up front I can not check you out»
