Established in 2008.

San Diego Electrician Back in 98 I worked along a small mom and pop shop for 2yrs doing custom homes, TI’s over by the pyramid in Miramar, a few parking structures down town, a few gas stations and little bit of everything. Then worked with a big company for another 3yrs. Did most of the electrical at Viejas casino/​Barona casino/​and the hotel at Pala casino, did work for allot of the schools in La Mesa/​SDSU science building/​Oceanside HS/​Murrieta/​Del Mar. Then made a move under the name Carreno Electric floated by for 2yrs then teamed up with another small electrical company who did allot of fire restorations, most of the time complete rewire, a bit of industrial work, allot of service upgrades and troubleshooting 2yrs. Then teamed up with another small shop 2yrs and did allot of custom homes throughout Crest/​Harbosin Canyon/​Alpine areas that were affected by the October fires in 2003, also wired custom homes in Borrego Dessert. All this brings me to where I’m at Now!

Mr. Carreno has been in the field since 1998 and learning from the best in the field and also attended a ROP class during High School for a year, then an apprenticeship course and graduated in 2005, soon after got my State Certification as a General Electrician then got my Contractors License, with great eagerness of going to work for myself and establishing myself as one of the best electricians in San Diego. San Diego Electrician Serving San Diego since 98 and looking to serve you.

I have used Brilliant electric now for a couple of projects throughout my home. I initially had them come out in the beginning of the year to install can lights in my living and office area, which came out great. They fixed our ceiling fans, so that they worked off of the switches in the room. They also replaced our chandelier. Last minute we requested to have lights installed in front if our garage and they were happy to install.
I just used their services today to trouble shoot a few switches that were not working. Within an hour the owner Alfredo fixed the issue. Truly thankful for the work they have performed and the professionalism him and his team have. Will continue to use there services when in need for an electrician.

Brilliant Electric was quick to answer my trouble shooting request on a short in my pool filter system. They were able to schedule my project the same day as I called. They were thorough and professional in their diagnosis of the issue and quickly and efficiently solved my problem. They will be the first company I call if I ever need any more electrical work.

Alert: deceitful billing practices! Contractor taking advantage of an emergency power outage.
After a utility pole went down on our property, we got a quote from Alfredo for temporary power/​Generator hook up, which we thought was pretty high to begin with. As it turned out, he billed and got paid from our tenants directly in addition to what he charged us, which almost doubled the cost of temp. power. He later claimed the amount he quoted and charged us was only for the second day’s work, not the first night, even though he texted us both before AND after working on the property on that first night, fist saying he is on his way and then again saying our tenants have temp. power and everything is good, never mentioning there was a separate charge for that first night. The next day, we were told he left his cell phone in the office, so that we could not contact him, and no one else in the office had any details about this job. We called a couple of times because we wanted a quote for the utility pole replacement (until we heard from our tenants about the separate payment). After two days, we never received a quote for the utility pole. We had another electrician do that, who did an excellent job and for a reasonable amount.

Alfredo and the other gentleman did a great job! I contacted Brilliant via the website link and he got right back to me on the phone. Alfredo put an estimate together and was able to set an appt to do the work very quickly. His estimate was fair and a lot lower than the other electricians quoted me. He is very professional, friendly, and has a «can do» attitude. The work that was done was installing can lighting, fan installation, adding an outdoor outlet, and installing a motion detector light. I highly recommend Brilliant Electric.

Called the Brilliant Electric because of their reviews! These guys are great! We called them in the morning around 11a and Sam (really nice and professional) showed up around 3p. There was a misunderstanding with the bill we received but after talking to Alfredo he was nice enough to fix the issue right away! I used the internet system to request a quote to have a panel replaced in a home that was selling and they took 4 days to return my call. By that time I had used someone else.
So that being said. If you want to try them don’t use the Internet system to contact them. I would call.

Just needed to put out a new update for the Brilliant Electric team on how they stand behind their work! My under the counter lights, which I purchased myself, were not working properly because a special connector was missing. Alfredo came out to assess the problem and then called the company that I purchase the lights from and ordered the new part. He said he would pay for the part so that my lights would work perfectly! When the part came in, Jose came out and meticulously installed the connector. Alfred did not charge me a dime for the part or Jose’s time, he just wanted me to be satisfied. How good is that!

As a property owner who lives out of state and does not have a property management company tending to my property it can be challenging coordinating repair work. I contacted Brilliant Electric on a Wednesday to describe an electric issue at our property. The person I spoke to clearly described how the service call process would work and gave me an estimate over the phone. By Thursday afternoon the issue was diagnosed and resolved. The repair invoice did not exceed the amount I was quoted. I will not hesitate to give Alfredo and Brilliant Electric a call for future electrical needs.

I chose Brilliant Electric to come install two new fixtures for ceiling fans in my home. This was definitely a small job compared to some of the jobs described in the other reviews, but I definitely didn’t feel like they treated me any differently. Alfredo was great in setting up the appointment, detailing all the work that would be required and providing a cost breakdown for each portion.
On the day of the install, Jose and Alex showed up promptly, went over some last minute details (switch and fixture placement, etc.) and then got to work. The crew put down dropcloths and set up drop cloth screens to keep drywall chunks and dust from getting all over the place, which was great. In the end, they did great a job and they left the house as clean as when they arrived. Very satisfied with the service and their prices.

They ran electrical lines to new outside wall and installed lighting for seven posts. They ran an electrical line to a new range (which is dual gas/​electric). I have more electrical work, which I’ll schedule with Alfredo and his outstanding team.

This is not a scotch tape job. These guys know what they are doing. Professional Première Custom Service, once you see the before and after you’ll definitely be impressed.
The best part is they’ll go out, survey the job, and give you a complimentary estimate. Our office needed to have a lot of electrical work done, Brilliant Electric took the time to even point out and recommended to upgrade from a phone line to CAT5/​6 Ethernet, if we are thinking of using VOIP for our business. We’ve never had an electrician ever ask us about phone lines/​VOIP before.
After the works is done, the guys patched all the drywall cutouts they did as well as texturing the walls so I can have the office ready for the painters.
Like I said Brilliant Electric is a première company not just patch and go kind of work. You’ll get what you pay for and much much more. Since they are local, if anything is needed after the job is done, they guarantee their work, and will send a tech out.

Wow! Stellar customer service!
Situation: It’s a Saturday and I’m having trouble with my dishwasher not turning on. I called Brilliant and they said they only have emergency service at $ 300. BUT! They said if that was too much they could help me out over the phone (FOR FREE!). They cheerfully and without complaint or attitude spent over 15 minutes on the phone diagnosing the problem.
Result: I was able to fix the problem. But more importantly the time they took to help me fix the issue shows how great the folks who work here are and how they genuinely care about helping you out.

I needed a few things done in my house in regards to some electrical work. I actually tried to get in touch with a past company I had used before but they were delayed in responding so I thought I would give Brilliant Electric a try. I am glad I did! I called Alfredo and set up an estimate for the following day. He came by, right on time, surveyed my job and gave me a quote to do the work. I needed 2 ceiling fans replaced and a few outlets fixed up. We set up an appointment for a few days later. It turned out that they actually could get it done sooner than expected so that was a score in my book.
Alfredo sent out Cesar and Jose. I thought I recognized Cesar when he came up to the door but I didn’t say anything. A little bit later, he mentioned to me that my house looked familiar. Turns out that he actually installed a vent fan and did some other electrical work for me in the past with a different company. Small world. Anyways… The guys installed my ceiling fans and got my outlets hooked up. They didn’t waste any time, did a FANTASTIC job and were cool guys too. We shot the shit about a whole bunch of things while they were working.
They respond quick, do great work, are really friendly plus have great rates! That is everything you want in an electrician! I will definitely be using them again if I need any more electrical needs!
