Five stars for Christina! She cut and colored my Moms hair and styled it perfectly. She is super nice and knows what she is doing.

Went to get my son’s haircut this morning. When we checked in, we asked very specific questions because my son is a challenge. Aside from being just 4 years old, he is autistic but I have gone to two other salons with success. So we made sure to ask they were good at dealing with challenging kids and they said yes. They also told us the wait would only be ten minutes. Over thirty minutes later they were taking back a gentleman I know had come in after us so we spoke up. They conferred over at their computer and I can only guess that my son was never entered into the system. At least they decided to take us now. But we had exhausted all of our ways of keeping my son busy during the excessive wait. Now we had little to keep him occupied so we tried to explain to the stylist that speed was going to be the priority; just get the job done. We were more concerned with getting it done than it looking perfect. She said she wasn’t able to do that. Another stylist chimed in and said she couldn’t cut his hair because he was being too rambunctious. It was at that point I realized they were not willing to work with us. Supercuts worked with us. As did another salon in La Mesa. We spent over an hour at this Fantastic Sam’s only to leave with not one single hair cut. Thanks for wasting our time! Whoever said this is a good place for kids is mistaken.

I came here for a quick trim and I’m never coming back. Jill did my hair and the length was okay but when I asked her to thin out my hair a little she took the thinning scissors and literally took a random chunk of hair and snipped and didn’t even brush off the hair. So now my hair has random baby hairs coming out from the middle of my head and my chest and back is full of hair. Every time I run my fingers through, more hair comes off that should’ve been combed out or taken out of my hair before I left. Btw, she burnt my head with the blow dryer and then just stopped so I left the salon with completely wet hair. After I left I spent 10 minutes in my car brushing the cut hair out of my head, off my chest and my back. Why did I even tip her? I’m too nice. Totally unprofessional, especially for someone who’s been doing this for 12 years. Very upsetting. Never coming back. Would not recommend to anyone.

I was fortunate enough to meet Christina in 2013 when I had to have back surgery and was difficult to wash my own hair. I would come in just for a hair wash and always left feeling refreshed She’s always took good care of me. When I recovered I had her start cutting my hair and was always happy with the results. She is always friendly and has a great personality.

I used this location for several years. Always was greeted with a smile and basically a good cut lasting weeks with a grow out maintaining a stylish cut. I just wish more stylists were present so the wait and getting your favorite stylist, then I would have left a 5 score

Great service! Checked out this place a few months ago for a new haircut and they were very nice and professional. The offer savings if you sign up for their email club which can really be handy.

Been going to this group of Fantastic Sams hair stylists for years and followed them to Jamacha from Avocado — the drive is a little further for me but well worth it. Renee is awesome!

Never again!!! After having a difficult time getting in for a cut, things quieted down and I got a total of 4 — 5 cuts from them. The last one 2 weeks ago was one of the worst I have ever received. I had to go to Great Clips today to have a 2 week old cut repaired. The stylist at Great Clips had no problem evening out many uneven areas of my hair as well as blend the lengths. It appears they have a lot of turnover at this place. I haven’t seen the girl who gave me my best cut since my initial cut from these guys. You have been warned. I will be going to Great Clips on Avocado from now on.

This is my FAVORITE place to go when I’m visiting my family in San Diego. The prices are unbeatable and I am always treated very well — all the stylists are kind, attentive, and professional. I should mention my family also enjoys coming to this salon; we’ve been coming here for many years now. Our Go-To stylist is Christina. She is incredible. She is extremely kind, charismatic, and patient. She listens to your concerns and offers her professional advice — giving multiple options so that you always feel 100% confident and secure in what you decide. She makes sure you’re comfortable and makes friendly conversation to put you at ease. She remembers her clients so even on a busy day she is able to make a connection with each person she is working on. Throughout the haircut itself she will check in with you, asking for your opinion as the cut continues just to make sure you’re on the same page. You can’t make an appointment, so the best thing to do is call that morning to see who is working and when. I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes tops at their busiest hours. They do take cards and you have the option of either adding gratuity on the card, or giving it in cash. The store is located in a very safe, family-friendly area. If there does happen to be a longer wait, there are plenty of other places you can browse in order to kill some time. The store is right next door to a Beauty Supply Shop so it’s super easy to find(between Rite Aid and Ross).

I went in Saturday 10÷7÷15 around 12:55 pm for a haircut. The staff here is completely unprofessional. I was the first in a line of about 4 people waiting for a hair cut with 2 employees working. The manager walked in after what seemed like a trip to the bank and immediately looked upset. Another employee walked in shortly after with her lunch and the manager loudly scolded her in front of every customer stating she should have waited for her to return. Watching the manager deal with other customers, she was very rude and short with her words. While getting my hair cut by Brianna, I could hear the manager and the employee who was on her lunch arguing in the back room. The employee, older Asian woman, then stormed out in front of all the costumers loudly stating she was going to clock in early from her lunch because the manager was complaining. This should never occur in front of customers! It looks very unprofessional and the woman continued to complain for the next 10 minutes or so. One of the other employees also pitched in as well. The manager needs to learn to delegate to her staff better the appropriate times to take breaks as well as her tone when speaking with customers. I watched her interact with multiple customers and she was very rude and condescending. When it comes to the haircut itself, I asked for long side swept bangs and got blunt bangs that end at my eyes. It looks AWFUL and not what I asked for. She didn’t even bother layering the hair on the opposite side or check for matching length. She even stopped mid hair cut to go hug a friend who had walked in to the salon, while still holding the scissors and comb On another occasion I visited this location, I arrived 15 minutes before closing for a hair cut and was told I was too late and they would not take me. There were 2 employees working and only one customer in the salon. End of story, DONOTCOMEHERE! the staff including the management is rude and their sanitary standards are horrible.

Showed up at 7:40pm on a monday, doors were already locked and two hair dressers just stared at me and said«too late, we’re already closed.» Well could you turn off the neon open sign then? Is it a common haircut law for hair salons to not take a men’s cut 20 mins to close? Not happy with this, I really needed a hairut!
