Focus Nails

They are not the cleanliest place. They told me to pick out my color and all of the bottles of gel are covered in the gel, which got all over my hands. And you can tell they are all old.
Then he asked where I usually get my nails done (which is Eva’s, and I love them, but they are closed on Mondays) and he questioned me about their pricing and insisted that they were the same prices.
He also cut me twice and didn’t clean the cuts.
I could have waited and gotten them done way better and for cheaper at Eva’s which is in the same shopping center.
Definitely not coming back.

Over priced. Cash only and the ATM they have charges almost 4 dollars. Couldn’t get the original color I wanted because it wasn’t mixed?! Not worth a trip.

customer service is ok. but they charge 25 for gel polish? which is 10 – 5 $ more than the average place I’ve ever been to. I can get a gel manicure for that price an where else. they think they can charge that cos they say their gel lasts for up to a month… well, about 2 days after I got my nails done, they gel started cracking, not even a week later almost of my nails have broken? wtf? I don’t even do a lot of hard work with my hands. pedicure was ok. the message wasn’t great. also, the only accept cash. I wish they would have a sign posted saying so so I could have stopped at the atm before hand so I could have avoided the ridiculous charge at the atm in the store. what a rip off. 2 things they overcharge for. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ never going back

I’ve been coming to Focus Nails for about a year now and have not been disappointed yet. They take their time and listen to what I want. Ivy does an amazing job on my eyebrows every time!

I came back during my last visit in San Diego during this holiday season, and I am so glad I did.
I called ahead of time since I was hoping to go in the evening before New Year’s Eve (also since it was my last day in town). They were so kind and were willing to accomodate me even though I was quite certain they were close to closing time.
Linda took care of me for my gel manicure ($ 25). She was so kind and willing to help me pick out a color. I didn’t quite have a specific color in mind for my mani, but she was so helpful and open to trying a mixture of multiple colors. The gel manicure included removing of the previous gel manicure, shaping, filing, soaking with cuticle oil, massage.
Nancy helped me with my classic pedicure ($ 19). The classic pedicure was their starting level — it was my first time here. It was so great, very relaxing, including another wonderful massage.
There is a $ 1 extra charge onto Credit Cards, although gratuity can only be given in cash.

It’s been 2 weeks exactly since I’ve been here. It was my first time coming to this location for gel manicure and spa pedicure. I wanted to wait for 10 days to report back how my nails were doing, however, my gel made it to 14 days and it could probably make it another 5 days at this rate. I’m happy to report back that the gel manicure is clearly lasting a while with no cracks, splitting, tearing, peeling off, or chipping of any kind. I’m actually pleasantly surprised at how beautiful my nails came out. The ladies did such a wonderful job.
The facility itself looked clean. The nail polish selection wasn’t abundant. I even noticed a few colors were doubled up. Hopefully they get more NEW OPI colors in the new year. I recommend bringing your own color nail polish to this salon if you’re not getting red or French nails. The gel color selection was just ok. But they last!
I overheard another customer say her pedicure lasts a month here. At this rate I think she’s right. Mine looks as like it was just done 14 days later.
The best part was the foot and legs massage! She took her time using fancy techniques… it felt SO GOOD… this was worth it. Not sloppy and rushed like other salons. The kind where you can close your eyes and drift off into relaxation.
They were full of compliments here. And I noticed a lot of the women were locals and regulars by their conversations with the salon ladies. That’s a good sign.

Wow absolutely the worst worst nail place I have ever been to!!! They didnt understand the simple glitter I wanted on my nails… just a line on the tip how do you botch that? The water was cold and you could tell the tub wasent cleaned before I put my feet in, I mentioned that and she said sorry forgot. The woman left super glue all over my nails and my cuticles looked like I need a fill because she didn’t paint to the base. Once finished they said they had no time to fix it next time they will. So now I’m leaving extremely unhappy with my nails and toes. My nails are a plain purple and I have an important event tonight im so disappointed in the service and management. I will never come here again and I will make sure to let people know to never come here either.

I love this place! I’m surprised that they only have 3 stars. They’re fast and very reasonably priced at $ 19 for a pedicure. Jay is an excellent nail technician!

I enjoy coming to this nail salon. I prefer Jay doing my nails, I always schedule to do my appointment with him. He always does what I want him to do! But I’m always welcomed with kindness. I enjoy talking to Ivy. My sister had Lyn do her nails, and she liked them. She had Lyn fixed her nails up and she really liked her work.

I have been going to Focus Nails for over 4 years and love this place! With one exception years ago (which they made right), I have always had great service. I am kind of a freak about cleanliness, and they always have clean impliments, etc. Friendliness is 5 Star, always greeted with a smile and hello. If you want an extra treat, ask for a neck massage from Linda!

For starters they told me to wait 5 minutes about 4 times which ran almost for an hour. When it was my turn I asked for a gel manicure. What did I get? Gel nail polish minus the manicure. When I asked about my cuticle being removed they told me that is an additional $ 5 fee. I asked for a different nail color since it was a bit too light, what happens next? They simply put the different polish on top instead of removing the old one. You can still see my old dark nail polish on some of my nails and they never bothered to check if they filed my nails straight (which they aren’t). They were nice, I have to give them that. Thats the only reason they get 3 stars. But I won’t be going back.

Always such great service and beautiful nails. I have never been disappointed! Ivy does a great job, and everyone in the shop has always been friendly. My mother has gone here for acrylics for years and has never had bad service. I came in for a gel manicure and pedicure today and am so happy with the results. I would never go to another shop in this area, Focus is wonderful.

They’re available by walk in and by appointments which is great. The nail techs are great and there is a wide selection of polishes.
My usual is typically a manicure and pedicure with Ivy. Her attention to detail is great and will make sure you are happy with the service before you leave.

Was going to go to Jersey Mike’s, when I saw this place. Decided to get a pedicure and eye brow waxing, Stacy did a great job with waxing my brows, they are now even and only paid $ 9. My pedicurist’s name was Linda and she gave me the best massage I’ve ever received for a pedi, and the overall pedicure was great!

I used to come here for pedicures many years ago and they always did a great job for a reasonable price. I stopped in to treat myself to a pedicure a few weeks ago and I’m sad to say this place is not what it used to be.
The salon now looks dingy, which does not make it appear very clean. To make matters worse, when I sat down at my chair the towel on the foot rest had something on it. I asked if it was clean and they said yes and flipped it over. Granted I probably should have left, but my past experiences here were always good.
The pedicure itself wasn’t particularly bad or good and the lady who helped me was actually pretty nice. The unfortunate part was that my polish started to chip pretty quickly, within a week’s time. Usually I can get at least 3 weeks out of a pedicure and this one wasn’t cheap.
My least favorite part of the experience was that they really push you to pay in cash even though they have a credit card machine. There is an ATM in the salon, but I’d rather not pay the extra $ 4 in fees.

Finally, I have found someone that does an amazing job on my gel manicure! I have been going to see Ivy now for awhile and not once has my color chipped! It will last a solid 3 – 4 weeks (if I let it grow out that long). She is always friendly and can squeeze me in if I don’t make an appointment ahead of time. Reasonably priced, beautiful manicure and good conversation. All the staff are always very friendly, but I definitely recommend seeing Ivy, she’s wonderful!

This is my 2^nd visit to Focus Nails and I’m now a regular. Ivy did a fantastic job on my gel manicure and it lasts a good 3 weeks (you can’t beat the price $ 25 for a gel manicure w/​cuticle treatment and massage.) Tracy did a super job on my pedicure which is a reasonable price too, it included: Callous remover, scrub, extra 20 minute massage, 2 lotion treatments for only $ 34! The location is ideal, right off Jamacha and there is plenty of parking! The salon is very relaxing and clean. I highly recommend Focus Nails for your next Mani/​Pedi! Make sure to ask for Ivy and Tracy!

This place is terrible! I haven’t even been here for 5 minutes and I can already tell I’m going to hate my pedicure. I decided to get the 19.00 one and was going to get the manicure as well but I’ll pass. When I got into the chair the towel that I rest my feet on was soaking wet! The water wasn’t even luke warm. It was cold. As I’m getting my feet done I’m writing this review. Waste of money. Do not come here.
