History

Grab & Go Subs was founded in 1973 by Vincenzo «Mimmo» Gaglio and is the product of a lifetime of baking and restaurant experience.

Mimmo was born in Montelepre, Sicily in 1930 and migrated to New York City at age 19 with his older brother, Vito Gaglio. After arriving in the U.S., Mimmo worked at a cheese factory in the Bronx where he learned to perfect his skills. In 1960, Mimmo and Vito moved to Ontario, CA and opened the Noble Inn Restaurant, their first look into management of the food distribution and baking business. In 1968 the Gaglio brothers moved to Little Italy, a small district in downtown San Diego, where they founded the Italian Sausage Company and another deli, called the Italian Village in 1969. This was the birthplace of what would shortly become the foundation of Grab & Go Subs. When Mimmo began operating the Italian Village deli, Little Italy was a fast growing, up-​and-​coming neighborhood. The area was constantly under construction and workers from every site freq
