Mrs Best Alteration & Cleaners

Good the first time. Second time I was charged twice. I called in and they apologized and would give me the credit towards the next time. The third time, it wasn’t ready as promised. I had to come back the next day. Fourth time, they lost a pair of pants, then jokingly said that they never get my order right. The biggest bummer is that they told me they would call when they found my pants but they never did. It’s been over 2 months and still no call.

I live in Arizona and visit San diego 2 times a year. I bring all my alterations to mrs. Best (paulin). She has done all my AG jeans. Altered waist length and leg style. You would never know my jeans had been altered. If you are like me once you find the perfect Jean you hate to get rid of them because the current fashion dictates. Paulin keeps you fashion forward at a fraction of the cost. In addition she was able to repair a favorite sweater after some mothes had a picnic. I found her thru Crystal Cleaners who also uses her for their alterations (that alone speaks volumes).

Service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. As this is a small shop, alterations take a bit longer. I’ve had several suits altered here and was totally satisfied. The folks here are very friendly. This is my tailor and cleaner of choice.

Among the other dry cleaners/​alteration shops in El Cajon, this is the one I like best! Owners are very-​very pleasant & nice. I can’t complain about their work on my dresses that I need to be altered & cut. My boyfriend was happy because they dry cleaned his suit the way he wanted it. They do a very-​very good job. I’m sticking with them!

I have been to Mrs. Best many times for alterations on pants, hems on tops and jean hems. Her work is beautiful and her prices have always been fair. Clothes are ready when promised. I continue to recommend Mrs. Best to my friends. It is a very friendly family-​run business.

Needed to get two pairs of jeans hemmed. Called her on Thursday morning to make sure she could get them done. I came by and she quoted Saturday at 11:00. When I showed up at about 11:15 she said «oh you come so early» and proceeded to tell me they weren’t ready yet and could I come back in an hour. I went to the bank an Starbucks and came back about 30 minutes later. When I arrived she was down the way at another business chit chatting it up. She ran back down as I was walking up and went back to work on my jeans. I’m now sitting in their waiting area just waiting for my jeans. I should have stuck with Pleats in North County. They did two pairs of my jeans in a couple of hours. This is ridiculous.

I’ve been a customer of this cleaners for 10 years or more. The service has always been wonderful. I’ve used Pauline for dry cleaning, alterations and, recently, cleaning and fitting a wedding dress for my daughter. Highly recommend

Mrs. Best, really IS the BEST!
I took 8 pairs of jeans to her to shorten and take in when I lost weight, and they looked amazing. She tailored them perfectly to my body, with enough give at all the right spots. She kept the original hem on my jeans for NO EXTRA CHARGE, because I also had them taken in and cleaned. I think the total damage was just over 100 bucks, and I only waited 3 days.
I also take all my dry cleaning here and my suits are never faded. Her pressing lasts for weeks too, so my slacks can wait longer than average to be cleaned again.
This woman does EVERYTHING! I stopped in once because a button broke on my jeans, and she quickly removed and replaced it, and told me don’t worry about paying her, just keep coming back. How cool!
Now that my wedding is coming up, I will definitely be taking my dress to her for the alterations. She is so flawless, and her prices start at only $ 25 to take in the waist. Other places want to try and charge a minimum of $ 75 and up depending on beads, fabric etc.
If there are any clothes in your closet that you think would be so cool if they just fit a little better, you should take them to her and watch her work her magic. She just has you try them on and the pinpoints all the little places where it needs improvement, and within a couple days its like new. She is the best solution for your precious textiles and your wallet!
