Rock Thrift Store

Always great to shop and get a great deal. I really enjoy the selection and have bought some nice clothes, books and even coffee mugs. The place is clean, the people there are wonderful. The best part is shopping here helps a great cause… helping people in the name of Jesus Christ… Come visit for yourself and bring in something good to donate for a great cause… amen!

I went to this location in el Cajon and couldn’t believe what horrible service I received. One lady there was very very rude and very unprofessional. I was appalled by how rude she was. And I attend the rock church in point Loma and couldn’t believe how it is here. They r supposed to be helpfull.

My main gripe is I scheduled a large (and expensive) donation pick up online and was sent an email with the pickup day and time 9am-​3pm, also someone would call when they were en route. Ordinarily this would not be a big deal, I would’ve put everything in the driveway. Since it was raining I kept everything inside and waited around all day. At 2:30pm I called and was told my pick up was not put on the calendar and wouldn’t happen that day. They rescheduled me for the next day from 9am-​11am. Again it was raining, so I waited around. Guess what? Another no show! I called and was told there weren’t any drivers available. So two days wasted without anyone even bothering to call me. Between this location and the Point Loma location, I’ve had now a total of 4 botched pickups. I love supporting my church and although I could have easily sold this stuff online, I just did not have the time. Unfortunately, I will stick with the other established thrift stores when making a donation. As far as shopping in the store, I’d stop if I was in the area, but if I’m really thrifty hunting, they other stores have better deals. Prices are meh… have to really look. Sometimes you get a good deal and sometimes things are overpriced. I was interested in a dishware set, but they had everything priced individually and by the time I put it all together I could’ve gotten a new set.

Really great assortment of nice, gently used items. Large building and lots of women’s clothes/​shoes. Fairly priced furniture is a huge plus. Only thing lacking are friendly associates. Great Christian based store

Tried to make a major donation of furniture — always like to help. Took forever to get through to make a schedule. Today they were a no show! Tried to call over and over again and no one answers the phone. You get a message that the voice mail system has not been set up.
Called a store and they put me on hold for a long time. Never picked up. Called again and they «PROMISED» to call right back… NOT!
Found out they were a no show as they had the wrong phone # to call. Really! The number was not even close! I always like to help by donations… but it is clear that the Rock is poorly managed to say the least. The sad part is the people who need the help are hurt by poor management.

Clean, decently organized, and decently priced! I came out of there with 5 skirts, 6 tops, a backpack, and 3 board games for less than $ 60!

Went in for the first time and I’m hooked! Everything is really nice and organized. The cashier lady that was working today was really nice and helpful (I didn’t catch her name). Everything was reasonably priced unlike Goodwill. Kids toys are mostly.95 cents. They also had a good variety of childrens books.

Today I spoke with the store supervisor, Robbie. She explained that the store policy is to never refund cash from the register and that she could not change the policy. She promised to educate the sales associate on the return policy and made things right by replacing the broken keyboard with a new keyboard that had recently been donated and was still in its original wrappings.

My car brakes for bargains. Recently opened Rock Thrift Store is clean and organized. The prices are reasonable. Just like any other thrift store, you’ve got to stop in fairly regularly, prepare to leave without buying anything, but be delighted when you get a quality item for a good price. I just found a very nice chaise lounge for my guesthouse that was in perfect condition and under $ 50. A great deal!

The store is very neat and there’s a large selection of items. But the prices are high. They play awful Christian Rock music, It’s not like I’m against Christian music, I just can’t stand shopping while bad Christian Rock music plays. And the final straw was the TERRIBLE customer service. I saw a cute Juicy purse behind the counter on display and asked to look at it and the woman let me look at it for about 1 minute before she asked for it back to put away. That really made me feel very uncomfortable and irritated that I didn’t get any time to think about purchasing this PRICEY purse. I’m not going to steal your used purse. I am really not at all impressed with this store and I’m very annoyed by their staff.

Wow, this place is amazing! Its so clean and organized, I love coming in here. I have
found some serious deals. I got a Michael Kors top for 4.95! 4.95!!! DEAL! I go over there at least once a week and always come home with amazing stuff. I could spend all day there.
Plus they have daily specials and a rewards program that emails you coupons.
But my favorite thing about this store is that the money goes to help ministries at the Rock Church. Talk about giving back to the community.

New thrift store located in El Cajon. Nicely organized and not claustrophobic like a lot of other thrift stores. Nice wide isles and the staff are super friendly. Prices are decent and the clothing is not all jammed together.

I looked up thrift stores in East county and «The Rock Thrift Store was listed on Fletcher Parkway across from Parkway Plaza Mall in El Cajon. Being a «thrifter,» I buzzed on over. A previously posted picture to the page had a photo of «The Rock Thrift Store» with a «Now Open» sign by the entrance door.
To my dismay, it’s still under construction… Quite a bit still needs to happen. I’m guessing the photo posted is of the store by the Sports Arena. Unilocal states the photo was posted a month ago (Sept.’14)
I’m still excited, though. It’s got plenty of space for lots of goodies to look over and eventually purchase.
Watch out Goodwill and Salvation Army Thrift Stores. There’s a new kid comin to town!
Looking forward to The Rock Church’s further expansion in east county.

I drove by today. It still looks the same as it did in October 2014. It appears that work has stopped. Still hopeful.

Maybe you have heard about all the complaining that is being done about the Rock Church El Cajon relocating to the old building that formerly housed the East County Performing Arts Center? Well, let’s see if the El Cajon-​ers are going to also grouse about the brand new east county Rock Church Thrift Store set to open soon on Fletcher Parkway, near Magnolia Ave.
This is a BIG, luxurious property with lots and lots of room. I feel sorry for the Sports Arena Rock Church Thrift store which is crammed into that smallish Scandia Plaza, now that the new El Cajon facility can spread itself out so nicely. Fall 2014 is the anticipated opening of this great new addition to thrift-​ing in El Cajon. Of course, the store is already looking for donations. On the church website, they mention a need for clean, gently-​used and operating properly items. The mega-​church also prefers it’s clothing be brought in plastic bags or boxes, not on hangers.
Now accepting: «Clean Clothing, Good Shoes, Clean Furniture, (Not broken) Book, Safe Toys,
Jewelry, Small Electronics & Functional Household Items,» said the website. You can even start donating for the new location by dropping off stuff at the Point Loma store located at 3191 Sports Arena Blvd.
Keep in mind that the Church prints out vouchers that it gives to first responders, firemen, policemen, Red Cross and others who respond to those impacted by tragedy, death or accidents. They are asked to hand out the free vouchers to people in need. When a fire or flood claims your personal belongings or you are suddenly homeless, those vouchers are a lifeline to replenish what was lost. Many of the clean toys in good condition are offered to the police and firemen to use in helping to soothe children who are involved in some kind of incident where they are stressed out and upset, to help calm and entertain the kids.
If this Thrift is like the one by the Sports Arena, then it will be run by one or two paid managers who supervise a staff of volunteers who donate their time to the devout endeavor.
