San Diego Marble & Tile

I stopped into there showroom earlier with the intent to purchase around 40sq feet of tile for a portion of my workshop. Upon entering I was «greeted» by an older woman who asked me in a very condescending voice if I needed help. I asked where the granite was and was directed upstairs; but regardless of the fact they had exactly what I needed I was so completely disdained from the rude greeting I receive and being made to feel as if I was in the wrong place that I have chose to spend my money elsewhere. Maybe if I was old or looked like a contractor I would have received better treatment, but I guess if you appear under 30 regardless of the fact you may be an established business owner, expect to be treated like a child who stumbled into the wrong store upon coming here.

I stopped in to this place to find a match for one of my broken tiles. Unfortunately they didn’t have an exact match for my existing tile but the sales associate was able to offer suggestions. He told me it looked like something that Home Depot would likely stock and sure enough they did. My five stars are for the service that I was given since I didn’t purchase anything from this store but if I need any thing in the future I would gladly return due to the friendly and helpful staff.

These folks were among the most knowledgeable and friendly folks anywhere. We were very frustrated at Home Depot and Lowe’s at the level of interest we were shown. Here we gave them a basic idea of what we wanted and we were then shown everything else necessary to complete the job. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this fine company for all your tile needs. They are experts!

Read my review on International Bath & tile… my installer told me to go to SD Marble & Tile to work with Janice. Soooooo glad I did! Janice is fantastic. She was extremely aggressive on price, saved me thousands of dollars, let me borrow samples without the 3^rd degree (or a credit card & drop of blood)!
Great customer service, great design input, competitive price & Janice was awesome to work with. Super nice person, enjoyed every meeting we had with her.

If I could give 6 stars or more, I totally would! The entire staff at the store is beyond helpful! Customer service is a big deal to me and after a rather unfortunate number of events at Daltile, I came upon San Diego Marble and Tile through Google. They are beyond amazing to work with! I had a small job to do for a backsplash detail and Lisa at the El Cajon store was extremely helpful. When they didn’t have the sample in their store that I wanted to see, she directed me to the Clairemont store as they had the sample at that location. When I went to the Claremont store, I met with Lisa who after some indecisiveness on my part, allowed me to take three separate tiles home from their showroom so I could see how they would work in my home. Mind you, these were not samples but off of their own showroom floor. Once I decided which style I want it, I return to the El Cajon store to place my order and just picked it up today.
After I had such a wonderful experience with my backsplash tile, I decided to come back to purchase tile for my fireplace hearth. Again, Lisa in the Clairemont store was so very helpful and again let me take a sample home from their showroom floor to see how it would look on my fireplace. Since I was already coming to pick up backsplash tile at the El Cajon store, I decided to place my order for my fireplace hearth tile here. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, at San Diego Marble and Tile is beyond helpful no matter whether you go to the Clairemont store or whether you go to the El Cajon store.
If you can’t tell from my review at this point, I would recommend them to anyone who needs anything for their home! I can tell you I will definitely be coming back if I ever need anything.

This store has got a nice showroom. For installers they have a good selection of tools and materials in stock. The prices are decent as well. It is conveniently located if you are in the El Cajon area. The sales guy was nice and got me loaded up quickly.

My wife and I are remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms. After going to 3 tile stores we found ourselves at San Diego marble and tile. The staff is not only friendly (something we didn’t find elsewhere) but also very knowledgable. They made the selection process easy and actually fun. We ended up doing our entire bottom floor and bathrooms from them and couldn’t be happier. I wish I could put pics on here. I’m now looking forward to doing my fire place.
