I was over charged. I was told $ 59 would be the initial visit charge and if I agreed to the additional repair estimate that my 59 would be credited to that. The repair person opened my dryer found a small article of clothing that had gotten past the vent then closed it up and it works again. The total time this repair person was at my home was less than 30 minutes. No pre-​quote was ever given. I was given the bill…$ 169 for «blower repair.»

When my Kenmore refrigerator broke, my first thought was to have Sears come out to repair it. In less than 24 hours I was able to get a technician to come out. Quick to answer, quick to make an appointment (which is what you want when you have kids and no refrigerator.)
AND THEN CAME THE BUT…
‘We don’t have enough technicians and it can’t be fixed for a week.’ (Then why were you so quick to help if you can’t?)
… unfortunately the $ 95.00 I spent to have a technician come out quickly to not solve a problem, is the last $ 95.00 I will ever spend at Sears.

Came in to get a part for my side by side refrigerator. I had the model number, even the part number and the nomenclature of the part. They gave me the wrong part!!! My bad for not opening the box in front of them to verify, but come on! Now I have to drive an hour in the morning to get the right frikin part! Only thing right on the outside of the box is the name of the part.

This review is strictly for the parts department. Came in today after I couldnt find lawnmower parts I needed at home depot or Sears. They had the exact belt I needed for the right price. Went home and installed the belt and noticed I needed a new drive wheel. Rolled back down to parts and they had wht I needed again at a reasonable price. My lawn mower has not run this well since I bought it. Thank you.

Dropped by last week to get repair parts for a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II that wasn’t draining properly. After describing the problem and giving my model #, they gave me a new pump and lid switch. As it turned out, *I* had the model # wrong, so the parts didn’t fit. Came back, easy return, got the right part, went home and installed it and was back in business. Thanks for the help!

So I came here because my Electroluxe Icon side by side is shoving out rusted ice cubes. How they put products that can rust into an ice maker. .. I don’t know. So I googled all that I could and came up empty handed because they don’t have part numbers, only the model number in the fridge. So I could not find my part anywhere. I decided to visit a Sears store to maybe order just the part. Well the 2 – 3 people helping me (and they were genuinely trying to help) but they couldn’t find my part anywhere. So they gave me this place, Sears Parts and Service Stores address. I came by and asked about getting the part. Again, I didn’t have a part number as it wasn’t on anything, only the model number so I gave it to the lady helping me, Julia. She couldnt find the part anywhere as well. So Julia called her manager out, Luis. He helped her find it and then we saw it on EBAY. Of course I wanted to see how much they were selling it for but when I looked at home, it was near the same price. Julia asked me what was wrong with the ice maker and I told her, it was rusting and putting out rusty ice. So both she and Luis gave me suggestions on how to clean it and remove the rust. They told me the prices if I wanted to purchase a new ice maker (can only buy it as 1 whole part for $ 146 there plus $ 10 shipping) or they said, just clean mine if everything works fine. WOW! That was cool. So I brought it home and I’m working on it as is the boyfriend, trying to get the rust off. I very much appreciate their suggestions as it took away from the store making money. .. but it also gave them more because now I trust them and will go back for my other appliances. I don’t expect the people working the center here to be parts genius’s for Sears. There are thousands of models and brands Sears sells and expecting the reception person to know all is silly. Electroluxe is just one brand name and comes out with new models and substitutes parts for others all the time and unless you are working that solely everyday, you wouldnt know unless you looked as we did. Please heed my warning and avoid Sears Home Services (8004MY HOME) like the plague. Have had them here on two occasions, each service call charging $ 95. Two separate repairmen gave me two separate prices and when I questioned the second one about the disparity I was told that ‘the computer calculates everything so there can’t be a mistake in his pricing’.
After declining the first repair because I thought the price was too high, I decided to go ahead with the repair a couple of months later, so when booking the second appointment I advised the scheduler that they already had a record of the part that was needed to repair the icemaker on my Kenmore fridge. She noted that and said the second repairman would bring all necessary parts with him for the second repair visit. Of course, when he arrived he did NOT have the parts and told me he would order them and would have to come back in about a week, after quoting me a price that was almost $ 100 higher than the first quotation. I declined the repair again but was told I would have to pay the $ 95 service call before he would leave. He declined my check saying he couldn’t accept paper and said a debit card would be better. Now I know why — because I can’t cancel the payment!
Have spent more than 3 hours on the phone on 3 separate occasions with their Customer Service (what a joke) and still haven’t been able to get anyone to listen to my complaint for resolution. They just keep repeating the ‘company line’ saying the $ 95 is non-​refundable. When I finally got to who I was told was a Supervisor in Customer Care, she prompted disconnected me.
NEVER NEVER NEVER call these people.

Extremely disappointed, with Sears home repair, San Diego, CA. We had a tech out to «fix» a washing machine that was apparently leaking. The next morning, as we went to run a load of clothes, we found that the door was not put back onto the unit properly, and thus the door would not lock and the machine of course won’t start. Called Sears, to have a tech back out to fix what he broke. You would THINK that they’d get someone out right away to fix their own error, but no. This is Sears. You’re simply put in the queue for the next available appointment, which is a full week from now. Yep. A full week of laundry building up. It was a $ 300 bill to break our washer. And now we get the privilege of waiting another week, with a 4-​hour window. Absolutely egregious service. We’re considering simply having another company out to fix, and dispute the charges via AmEx. Shame on you, Sears.

On Oct 20, 2014 my washer broke. They are under service plan. when I called they asked me if I wanted my dryer looked at too. I said yes. Over week later on Oct 31,2014 a guy tech # 777 763 .came out. The whole time he was working he complained-​the washer was to heavy, the space it was in was to tight. He took his tools and put them on clean clothes. He vacuumed out the dryer in the back and said you can not have that done for another year. After he left I looked in the washer and it was half full of water. Now every time I used the washer it walked. The dryer still had a piece of lint in the bottom of the lint trap that I can not reach. Only good thing I noticed was a part for the front that was ordered several times by Sears-​always being the wrong one came in. Yahoo looks like the right one. So I get back a from a trip and notice that electrical smell after I do my first load of clothes. I call to make an appointment, requesting the first guy that came does not return, first appointment I can get is a week plus November 18, 2014. Strange thing is if I put I have no service contract on service page I can make an appointment tomorrow. So long time warrenty service customers are having to wait. If they don’t have my parts it will even be longer. This is not right.
I have a washer that I paid for service protection and have been going to the laundry mat for 4 weeks now.
Today is December 2, 2014. Parts were ordered on their last visit-​Nov 14 th. Now we need more parts-​motor is bad. I have not had a WASHER since Oct 20^th. The guys working on it now are very nice Tech # 716 753. Doing their work and cleaned up after. Sears sells Samsung, but has to order all parts. Actually find this every time something breaks that is from Sears. Why don’t they have a warehouse of parts for the machines they carry? So as of today I still have a broken washer.
If the first guy on Oct 31, had actually worried less about getting some dust on him and open the machine up. I might be doing laundry at home. He is tech number 777 763.

I’m really disappointed with Sears. I called them to fix my refrigerator and waited six days for a technician to come. When he came he told us we needed to buy a part and so we waited another week for him to come to install the part. This cost $ 300. The refrigerator ran for a week only. We called again and had to wait two weeks for a technician to come back. This new technician told us the refrigerator is beyond repair and that Sears would refund us. We’ve called the repair center twice regarding the refund and have been hung up on both times. I’m very disappointed that a company like Sears would deal with customers like this. This is the last time I will call them for a repair.

I’m glad that Sears Home Service in Utah was available to do the work and get my new front load washer running again, but charging 100 bucks for a part that was 65 bucks online was hard to handle, then you add in the $ 200.00 to install a gasket was a little steep. For double the price I could have purchased a new washer… If they had charged me more what other competitors would have ($ 120.00) it would have been easier to swallow and would have moved this review up to a three star review… Oh well, it is what it is & I now have clean clothes to wear.

Sears Home Services. i have called SEARS HOME REPAIR SERVICE and sears owned A & E FACTORY SERVICE REPAIR company and uses them. they are polite and easy to schedule but that is it. the worst experience ever! i dont want to go in details of how it was. but a serveral visits, unable to do, didnt have enough supplies or manpower despite knowing the job and have been here already. a few visits and paid $ 75 and nothing is done. i have changed to another company. INSANE!

Paying over $ 550 for a 5 year warranty on a washer and dryer… now needing service on the washer 3 years into it i’m glad I bought it. What I don’t like is waiting 8 days before service. Who knows how the clothes in the washer is going to be when the door finally unlocks. Before buying an extended warranty that they push on you every time you buy something… ask the cashier when will service arrive. I bet they won’t tell you a week or so out.

I don’t know how their appliance service is because they never got to our house. About 30 minutes after their four hour service window ended, we were called for the first time by the repair man. We told him we couldn’t wait any more because we had things to do and frankly he seemed relieved. When he asked if we wanted to reschedule we told him we were going to go with another company. He really didn’t care. Ten minutes later the Sear’s scheduler called us to reschedule and we told her the same thing and she reacted the same way. She didn’t care. No apology, nothing. Really poor service and no service recovery.

Two Sears repair guys came out yesterday to replace a bearing on a Whirlpool washing machine I had purchased in April. They pulled the washer out onto the sidewalk and dropped it off of the step. Then they took apart the washing machine and left it laying on the sidewalk while they chatted and looked at pictures on their phones. After an hour and a half of laughing and talking they finally worked on the washing machine. They put it back together, picked up their tools and went to their van to have lunch. All the while my washing machine was just sitting on the sidewalk of a busy San Diego street. After sitting in their van for a half hour, they came back and started to move the washing machine back into my home. A repair that should have probably taken 20 minutes, took two and a half hours. I asked them for their names and manager names and then the older gentleman became combative. He started threatening me that next time I would have to move the washer myself. He gave me a fake name and wouldn’t give me his manager’s name. He left without seeing if the washer worked or having me sign any type of paperwork. I attempted to call Sears customer service to speak to a manager twice and each time I was put on hold for over 30 minutes and I finally disconnected. Sears obviously does not care about it’s customers. This will be the last time I purchase anything from Sears because of the horrible customer service.

Unsat service from A & E Factory Service, which is owned by Sears Home Services. First technician examined appliance, provided quote which included two parts that needed to be ordered. Paid for and scheduled repair, including the parts. Parts arrived and on day of scheduled service call, technicians were more than hour late, so called A & E Factory Service number. Individual who answered was surly, so I asked to speak with supervisor or manager. In response I was directed to go to website. When technician did arrive, it was discovered the parts that were ordered were not required at all and we were due a refund, which would take 7 – 10 days to process. Technician finished the repairs and appliance has been working successfully. Attempts to engage A & E Factory Services were unsuccessful. Contacted Sears Holding Company and received requested partial refund for labor costs. Still await refund for unnecessarily ordered parts. Still await response from A & E Factory Services.

I was given a four hour window for their technician to show. The technician called after 3.5 hours and said he would be delayed because of traffic so he was going to go to another job. He thought I should reschedule and could only offer me an appointment a week later with a waiting time of another four hours. Poor customer service. Have never used them and never will!

I would give a zero or a minus if they had less than one star on Unilocal.I have a Whirlpool and I need a simple plastic part and 20 minutes of service repair time. They came out and charged me a minimum fee, which I was told would count toward my repair.. I was told that I need a $ 39 part. They wanted; are you ready? $ 225 for just the labor plus the part, to install a part that takes them 15 minutes!!! What a rip off. I ask why so much and was told that it is by the job and not part. I was told that I must pay for the phones, trucks, etc., etc. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They are a joke and will take your money. I paid the guy the $ 70 bucks, called another company ordered the part for $ 45 and still saved $ 110. Had I known the deal, I would not have called to begin with. Never ever call this company. I will also never again buy a Whirlpool. $ 1700 and it breaks down in less than a year and a half.

I wanted to take a moment of your time to follow up with you regarding my
written complaint. Your representative, Depesh, did call me and schedule an
appoint for yesterday between the hours of 1 – 5 pm.
We waited and we waited… the representative finally arrived at 10 minutes after 5pm.
Not sure what his name was… he never said.
He did call and speak to my wife and his first words out of his mouth was I am
going to charge you $ 75.00 for the visit.
Then I called him at 5.05pm and the first words out of his mouth was that he was going to charge me $ 75.00 for the service call. What an aggressive little jerk you have working for you.
He never asked me what the problem was… he just wanted his $ 75.00! Wow!
He did show me that I do have a very slow drip in one connection and the drip is inside the machine. Most likely an O ring leaking. I asked him to repair it… He went out to the vehicle to call his manager and 10 minutes later he comes back and says that he will charge me $ 132.00 to repair the leak.
I said… OK what about the other issue? The unit fill with water and then I need to drain it manually. A replacement part was ordered and never installed.
Then his attitude really took of…
he says… you know I am the one who came here in June to repair this, there is nothing wrong with this machine.
I said.OK.please explain to me why the machine fills with water and then fails to drain itself.
Well that is because the drain hose is not run properly. He says to me
I replied, the drain has been there for 10 years and it worked fine on the prior machine and it worked fine on this machine until a few months ago.
Please explain to me why it no longer works properly.
Service rep beats his chest with 1 fist and says with a raised voice I have been doing this for the last 7 years, I just know what I know.
I call this the magical diagnosis. Your rep has some kind of magical knowledge that no one else can understand.
The facts are clear… tank fills with water on several occasions and then it does not drain.
simple problem…
In the last few visits. they have also diagnosed… the unit is not level… needs flex pipe installed at shut off valve… wrong kind of flex pipe installed at shut off valve, etc, etc.
These repair folks seem determined to dance around the issue at hand and never directly address the problem.
Mr. D’Ambrosia, do you have a competent repair person that has good communication skills.
If so, I would love for them to tell me why the problem still exists.
Then I can make a decision about any future purchases at a Sears store.
I have been a loyal Sears customer for the last 40 years… but at this point I am wondering if Lowes, Home Depot or the local independent shops would be a better long term decision.
The unit clearly was broken during the warranty period and now your representative has willfully ignored the problem and refuses to acknowledge that there is an existing problem.
It seems to me that Sears will do anything within their power to avoid repairing this unit under the warranty. They have even gone so far as to add… magical diagnosis to the tool chest.
Sears can not afford to hire any quality folks so it is my advice to please avoid this problem company in the future. There is no excuse for incompetance.

When I called Sears regarding my non-​cooling Kenmore refrigerator, they suggested I purchase a $ 116 protection agreement. They said if the refrigerator could be repaired they’d do it for that amount. If not, I’d get a $ 500 credit toward any new fridge at Sears. Sounds good, right? The repairman came out and said it would be $ 900 or more to repair it and that it wasn’t worth the investment. So I took my $ 500 credit to Sears and there was nothing comparable (stainless steel French door fridge) for under $ 3600! So, I called another refrigerator repairman from North County Appliance Repair, and they came out and fixed it for only $ 200 – I was thrilled! It just was a small part that had gone bad, not a compressor as the Sears repairman had claimed. It’s been working perfectly now for several months. I just came across the Sears receipt, however, and thought I should let others know NOT to call Sears. Total rip off!
