Service Master All Phase Restoration

Absolutely terrible service. Here are the details of the horrible service.
1. I signed the work authorization on 17 December 2013.
2. Service Master (SM) said it usually takes 10 days to fix up the house.
3. SM told me that there was a vinyl material availability issue, but I found the vinyl and that was still delayed for 2 weeks (while he was on vacation in January).
4. One of the workers had defecated in the toilet and the water was turned off, so it sat in the house for a week. I had to clean that mess up and the smell was putrid.
5. the sub contractor was working on site without any service master personnel there and was trusted to close up.
and: a. The alarm was not set on two occasions.
b. The gate was left open on one occasion.
c. Trash was left on the back patio and blew all over the yard.
d. Lights were left on the porch.
6. SM had deceived and lied to me. This included the material availability, and that vinyl was shipped when it was not. He was very difficult to work with and argued with me every step of the way. He was the face and representative on this project and I felt I had no other option on who to talk to. I sent an email to the owner without any response.
7. When I was informed that the job was completed, I went to the house to find all the furniture inside the kitchen. See attached picture.
8. Also, besides the house being a mess, SM neglected to do 24 of the line items on the work order totaling $ 1,437.44. Again, JW was rude to me with his responses.
9. After I complained, they work was finally completed on 13FEB2014. Exactly 2 ½ months after the water damage on 29November2013 and close to two months after I signed the first work authorization on 17December2013.

I found mold in my home and was instantly in a panic. My insurance told me it was not a covered loss which made my nightmare begin. ServiceMaster were my heroes! The sent John Dakin and Jake Elliston to my home to do an initial inspection. Both men showed up on time and looked very clean and professional. They both addressed my young children and introduced themselves to them which is huge for a mom. They walked me through the process, which seemed very overwhelming, I admit I got a bit emotional when they told me what they would need to do to remove the mold. Both men were VERY sensitive to my emotional state and assured me ServiceMaster was going to make it all go away as easily as possible. I have a small condo so they guys had very little room to maneuver, but they did great. They addressed every concern I had and made me feel like I wasn’t just another customer. I felt like they actually cared. THAT is what customer service is all about! I have been a customer service manager for years and ServiceMaster far surpassed my expectations. The job was done in less time then expected, how often does that happen??? And when they were done my house looked like no one had ever been there.
I HIGHLY recommend ServiceMaster to anyone looking for a company that offers not only good work but GREAT customer service.

I wish I could give a half a star, I don’t think there even worthy of 1. Well here is how it went. we had a flood in our home in august 2012 and it took out the master bedroom, master bath, upstairs hallway living room ceiling parts of the kitchen, down stairs bathroom, and convert garage room. First the insurance company sent out Service Master All Phase Restoration to dry out the house. The person they sent out was pretty cool. We put in the call at 5p and they showed up at 9p. They cleared most of the upstairs out and left the down stairs for the asbestos check. So that went on for about a week. Then the insurance people came out and said if we stick with the restoration company that did the dry out they would give a three warranty if we used them to do the rebuild. I was fine with that. JR the estimator came out did some measurements of the house and gave the insurance company the estimate for repairs. So we were good to go, the first week or so everything was going good, until the carpet was going to be installed. We had asked for our downstairs carpet to be moved upstairs and wanted new laminate floors be installed in the downstairs. they moved the carpet but cut it too short. we talked to the flooring guy to have as much carpet down stairs be brought up to the up stairs. they would have had to piece together and extra foot to the end. Instead they left what was up in the room which was 8 – 10 feet and connected the downstairs to the existing up stairs carpet. plus they used the old pad thinking we would not even know. I asked the estimator if we were going to get new padding and he said yes. then came the counter top in the converted garage. they called to tell me that the wall way not even and they had to put a ¾ piece of mdf behind the counter top back splash because the cabinet maker did not take in consideration the stem wall behind the cabinets bases. Next we had shutters in the house and when the dry wall fell off the ceiling it broke the wood off the window. So the handyman carpenter tried to duplicate the shutter casing and total butchered it. It was not square in our other rooms you could not see the joints and on this one you could. The dishwasher was pulled out of the opening and attempted to be re-​installed by the so called plumber, it was a side mounted dish washer. So the guys installed the clips to hold it in on top and then put 2 screws per hole on the sides of the dish washer which blew the hole open and could have been a possible area in the future for a leak. this dish washer was only 6 months old when they destroyed the openings to mount it properly. We had the owner, the estimator, the construction manager all out at least 5 times for a punch list and every time they tried to fix the problems they would make new ones. Also the office staff would call a day after sending out a check for us to endorse and would harass us to sign it. These are just some of the things I can think of off the top of my head, I pretty sure I can write a book about the whole 2 month nightmare.

Although this company was recommended by my insurance company I would never use them again. In May 2012 I had some remodeling work done on my house, paint, gutters installed and insulation blown in. Nothing was clearly written down. There person doing the painting did not understand my wishes for the paint work done on the house, He had to redo one wall since he painted it the wrong color. He also did not show up a a few days and didn’t bother to let me know he wasn’t coming. When it came to blowing in the insulation they managed to crack the inside of the bedroom wall, they then needed to fix that wall and repaint the whole wall. Gutters were installed and I discovered several months later that the front gutters had standing water in them. I called and they said someone would be out on Wed, he had to cancel that day said he’d call and be out the next day, so I waited and he didn’t come at all that week. After another rainstorm the gutters were full of water, I called again and he finally came out to look at the gutters. Had to redo the front gutters and now I am waiting again for the guy to come and paint the wood pieces he had to replace. I will give them credit for coming out and fixing their mistake but I would not use them again…

Somehow the first review I wrote about this company disappeared. Their service was absolutely horrible. We had a slab leak on Jan 13 2012 ans it’s April 13. The second company which has done a great job has cleaned up the mess that service master charged for but didn’t take care of. They left a lot of problem but mostly mold was the big issue. If you’re looking for a company that will leave you with MOLD, untreated problems, a big bill and unfinished work, give them a try. If you want the job done right… GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

So a toilet in my house on the 2^nd floor flooded and kept running and caused a lot of damage. Ruined the floors, walls, ceiling, carpet, moldings, etc. My Insurance agency contacted Service Master and they had someone out the very next morning. They started by cutting out all the affected areas and put a few dehumidifiers and fans all over the house. These things ran for 4 days to dry things up. They came out every morning to check on the progress.
Once that was done, they sent another individual to complete the construction. Alex was the man! I even had them upgrade the bathroom to tile floors. He did a fantastic job. Even better then the guy who did my kitchen. He was polite, on time, and went above expectations.
The company in general was very helpful as this was the 1^st time I’ve done something like this. I’ve only been a homeowner for a little over a year. They helped me get though it fast and easy. The work was very well done. Can’t even tell they were here or the damage was done.

This place has horrible customer service! We called at least 5 – 6 times before anyone answered or called us back. When someone finally did answer they could not speak English to save their life, she took down our info and had someone call us back. We had won a gift certificate to get our carpets cleaned at a Breast Cancer auction for the Breast Cancer Walk here in San Diego. Servicemaster told us our gift certificate was counterfeit and we or someone else must have forged it. They were rude and never got back to us. I believe what happened is they gave away free gift certificates and with the economy being bad they were not willing to redeem it. Bad customer service all together!
