Tower Dentistry

After many years of A+ service by my Father-​in-​law who was a world class dentist, I needed to select another after his retirement. Dr Rashke fit that bill. He didn’t miss a beat when it came to my dental care. Dr Raschke has preformed a multitude of procedures for me as I am now 58 years old. You will not find a better qualified and caring dentist. Another world class dentist! Don’t forget to ask for the Nitrous! It makes you look forward to going to the dentist! And «No», I was not solicited to write this!

I have been seeing Dr Duran for about 15 years. I have never had someone provide such a consistent service. He is ALWAYS happy to see myself and my family. My two kids 4 and 7 love being able to see Dr Duran. He is so patient and kind with them. I would recommend him any day to anyone. His work is always done very well and very professional. I honestly can say that I have never had any pain or any issues after seeing him. I am very thankful to have him as our family dentist!

So crazy, but still love with my dentist!

Myself and my entire family have been seeing Dr. Pierce for many years now and I have nothing but great things to say about his professional, yet personal way of handling our care. He is very trustworthy and always explains in detail any procedures that need to be done. He did a beautiful job of fixing my son”s front tooth when he chipped it, and you cannot even tell that it was repaired. He is always willing to fit me in if I have a concern. (I’ve been dealing with a bad cracked molar) I have referred other family and friends to see him. I have never had an issue with the office staff, but it appears that the gals in front are new faces to me recently.

Well… as I’m sure the Doctors here are more professional and welcoming then what I experienced. They have a very rude, unfriendly and quite uncooperative gatekeeper or what most would call as the front office Manager. First and Foremost I don’t deal with gatekeepers well as most of them do not operate as the owner or decision maker for the companies, they simple are not smart or intelligent enough to make financial decisions on behalf of the Doctors, nor do they know anything beyond their programming. This redheaded office Manager proceeded to be rude, and very nasty to me as I explained «this is a legal matter», and as she turned her back on me… I exclaimed…“thanks for the disrespect!” Now… I wash my hand and smile for her disrespect for compliance and if the fines and fees are on her hands at her «they’re NOT interested» attitude… I’m free of guilt, but tried to save them. Good luck to your business, you lost my interest even as a patron with teeth and lots of dental needs.

If I was writing this review solely about the dentists and hygienists at Tower Dentistry, I would give them 5 stars… hands down. Dr. Pierce and Dr. Raschke are awesome! However, after having several issues with the front desk/​billing people, I’ve decided not to return.
One issue I had was when my insurance changed from a PPO to an HMO. I was unaware that this office does not take HMOs, so when I asked if they took my new insurance I only said the company name and they said yes. I then handed them my new card and went in for my cleaning. When I came back out, I was told that they did not accept my new insurance because they don’t accept HMOs (and that I would still have to pay for services performed out of pocket). Now, I understand that mistakes happen but my card said HMO in big letters. How did they miss that?
Another time my insurance changed and I made sure to get a PPO that was covered by their office because I really liked the dentists there and wanted to keep going despite the issues I had. I checked the insurance company’s site and several of the dentists at Tower were listed as accepting the insurance. When I went in for my appointment I was told that my insurance didn’t cover even a basic cleaning for 6 months or a year (something crazy like that) even though I was pretty sure it did. I freaked out and called my insurance because I felt like I was getting cheated. My insurance confirmed that they do cover those basic services and that the only reason they wouldn’t be covered is if I went out of network. So I called Tower back and explained the out of network thing and the woman says something like «yeah, you’re out of network». First of all, I wasn’t out of network. And second, even if I was, why would you tell me my insurance doesn’t cover something as opposed to saying I’m out of network so my cost is higher? I explained that several dentists were listed as taking my insurance and she said the site must be wrong and they couldn’t do anything about it to get it updated. So I basically chose an insurance company specifically so I could go to Tower only to find out I couldn’t actually go there.
I realize that was long and possibly confusing (and this isn’t even all that happened!), but the point is if you don’t want to deal with billing hassles and being mislead, you should probably skip over Tower. It’s a sad thing since the dentists are so great, but for me, I just don’t think it’s worth the headache.

I can’t say enough good things about this place but lets start from the beginning.
Appointment set up was a breeze. Gal on the phone was very welcoming even helped me with questions about insurance coverage. The facility is very clean and the ENTIRE staff is wonderful to be around, the xray tech was quick, the doctor very warm and welcoming and the hygienist was friendly and fast. They give you the option to watch TV while you are getting a cleaning which is pretty awesome. They don’t try to sell you a bunch of things, they just give you the facts about what you have going on in your mouth and let you choose what you want to do. I have been to a few different dentists over the years but this one takes the cake! Thanks guys!

I love Dr Brett Melgosa !!! He is extremely thorough, gentle and PAIN FREE!!! I have had my share of bad experiences like any other person and was incredibly terrified of the dentist. However, Dr Melgosa was remarkable in addition since my last appt, I have referred several friends and family. I adore Dr Melgosa, professionalism, personality and his sense of urgency. GO SEE HIM!!! He will make you feel exceptionally comfortable and resolve all your dental needs.

Time for a cleaning. This place is great. Dr Peirce is awesome and very gentle. I had horrible horrible experiences with Dr Kenny at bay park dental. I wouldn’t take my dogs back to him! Dr Peirce has fixed all my teeth from them. So much happier!!!

Visited Towers Dentistry back in March but finally I remembered to write a review. I came to TD after purchasing a groupon for xrays and cleaning.
Dr. Raschke did a great job and answered all questions and curiosities i had. The practice is high tech and modern, so I had plenty of questions.
Great practice, definitely will be going back for my next check up.

I cannot say enough kind things about Dr. Raschke and the dental hygienists at Tower. I like them so much that I pay for all of their services out-​of-​pocket.
I had been going to see Dr. Raschke for a while when my company switched insurance, leaving him out of my new network. I tried to find an in-​network dentist that I liked, but wound up in a handful of sketchy and horrible experiences. Other dentists were telling me I needed a bunch of fillings and all kinds of special sealants. I went back to Dr. Raschke for a second opinion, and he told me I had one weak spot that might become a cavity but did not yet need any fillings.
Since then, I’ve been paying out-​of-​pocket to see Dr. Raschke. And it’s worth every penny. He’s the nicest, kindest, and most honest dentist I’ve ever encountered. I can’t recommend him enough.

Thank you Dr. Melogrosa for being so awesome with my son! He will grow up with healthy teeth and healthy expectations about his dental care because of your good example!
Dr. Melogrosa is super qualified and well trained. Ask him about him time in medical school… It may sound weird but he loves teeth and it shows:) Very thorough and super popular. He’s in network for Cigna.

I started going to tower dentistry on a recommendation. I made my appointment with Dr Melgosa who has been fabulous since day one.
I had previously been seeing another dentist in the San Diego area, who, for a lack of a better word, seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing. From the moment I sat down in the chair at Tower, I felt confident in Dr Melgosa’s knowledge and skills.
I went through the standard x-​rays and the dental techs (not sure their exact title) were very friendly and quick. Those x-​rays can be quit annoying but this was one of the best.
Reviewing the x-​rays was so modern and high tech, I never knew there was such a thing for dentistry. But Tower definitely has all the latest equipment, again making me feel confident in the work being done.
Dr Melgosa was awesome in explaining the work that I needed done and gave me several options so I could find a good fit for me. We picked the best course of action and with one quick appointment we got everything done.
I am currently in the process of getting Invisalign and Dr Melgosa has been wonderful in helping me through this process. I have wanted to get this done for so many years and he has made it happen in a matter of 2 quick months for me.
If you are looking for a new dentist, look no further, Dr Melgosa and the team at Tower are fabulous! A quick shout out to Marilyn too! She is awesome with any insurance billing questions and so helpful making appointments.

Went to Tower Dentistry as a new patient this week. They were extremely thorough and friendly. Dr. Raschke spent 20 minutes answering all kinds of questions about my teeth and the cracked tooth I currently had. What I really appreciated is that he never pushed teeth whitening and night bite plates. This was a first. I found him extremely competent, honest, and likeable. The office was also clean and inviting.

To give you a little background, I’m not comfortable in dentist offices and had my share of experiences…
The Dentist Office
The office is really nice and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I then got installed in a private room, with very High Tech equipment, from a comfortable chair, a screen with Direct TV and a remote in my hand so I can occupy my mind during the procedure.

Dr Melgosa then proceeded to the installation of my crowns, after numbing the area he told me that if I felt anything to raise my left hand so he could too off the local anesthesia. Didn’t even need that as I felt no pain. He was very precise on the work he performed while explaining every step of the process on what he was doing.
Crown Technology
Now, the crowns were ready to get built. I already had seven of them in my mouth and had to get temporaries — wait two weeks, and get my permanent ones… NOT HERE, with there CEREC machine, Dr Melgosa took some 3d images of my mouth, and then finalized the design on a computer in the room, I could see everything he was doing, and that was really advanced. The he clicked on a button, and my crown was getting machines out of ceramic in an adjacent office. I left that same day with my permanent crowns!!! ONE VISIT that is what was needed.
Definitely recommend Dr Melgosa and Tower dentistry.

I have had a difficult time finding a dentist that I like and trust since I outgrew my pediatric dentist’s practice when I was 15. When my current dentist informed me that I had two cavities that needed to be filled, I decided to trust my gut and get a second opinion. After some researching, I stumbled into this gem of a place.
I cannot say enough great things about Tower Dentistry. Upon arrival, I was blown away by the beautiful office, a far cry from the dust-​filled, grimy place that I had walked into during my visit to my other dentist the week prior. The office manager greeted me warmly and I was immediately handed my paperwork to fill out. Within moments, I was taken back to my chair by Sheila, who kindly took my x-​rays and showed me how to use the DirecTV.
Dr. Melgosa quickly showed up by my side, where he examined my mouth before explaining what he would be doing (five fillings– it turns out that my suspicions about my prior dentist overlooking things were correct). He was quick in his work and made me feel very comfortable; I’m still in shock that I felt NO pain throughout the entire procedure. He kept things light and humorous, while explaining every step of the process. My fillings look great, and I am ecstatic to cut ties with my now previous dentist. I will be a loyal patient for life. Went to Tower after purchasing a Groupon. The office was very nice and the cleaning I received was outstanding. HOWEVER, the dentist told me that I had four teeth that needed crowns at $ 1,200 a piece for a total of $ 4,800. The crowns would mean grinding my teeth down and adding porcelain veneers. My previous dentist in Virginia had told me that I had a some old fillings that would need to be replaced over time. Thank goodness I decided to get a second opinion! Several people told me to go Dr. Keeney on Park Blvd. Dr. Keeney said I needed to have two fillings replaced. Total cost was $ 700 including the initial exam, cleaning and two replacement fillings.

Hooray for such an awesome dentist. Dr. Raschke rules. He’s very kind and makes sure you understand everything that’s going on with your teeth. And it’s clear that he is honest and not trying to do unnecessary work. Fantastic office. Clean, welcoming, spacious. Friendly staff. This is an ideal dental experience. If you’re on Unilocal specifically looking for a new dentist, look no further. It’s worth the drive to El Cajon if that’s what is holding you back.
