R & K Air Conditioning

The technician was not professional at all. He didn’t explain what he was going to do. He didn’t check or clean the filter. He didn’t top of my Freon. That’s not the worst of it.
I only had them come out as a preventative measure, yearly checkup. While he was checking the AC out back, I had visitors show up so I had to entertain my guest. After about 30 minutes or an hour, he told me he was all done. I asked him what he did because I didn’t see him do anything and he said he tested my system and there wasn’t any problems. I told him I knew there wasn’t any problems but the reason I called them was to do a «tuneup» like I had done by Desert Air the year before. They cleaned my filter, topped off the Freon and ran diagnostics tests on the equipment to make sure everything was good. All of that was included in the cost. He said he’d have to charge me extra to top off the Freon and that my filter wasn’t dirty even though it was. He didn’t even look at it until I mentioned it and he still didn’t clean it. Again, this is not the worst of it.
After I paid him and he left, I went to check the condenser out back. There was a cover he had taken off that he put back with only a few screws, all the others were missing. I don’t know why he even took this cover off because the previous technician never did. I later found out why. About a month after the service, my AC broke down. I called R&K and told them and they said they would have to charge me again to diagnose it. I told them I just had them out there to service it to prevent this sort of thing so why would I pay them again. Don’t they trust in their own work to last more than a month? The technician said everything was good so why would it break a month later. I decided to call Desert Air to come look at it. They said that the capacitor had failed and that somebody had replaced the original capacitor with A NON-​FACTORY PART! Although I don’t know if I have enough evidence to prove it, I am convinced the R & K technician had to have done this because the unit was bought brand new and the only other service was Desert Air and I know they did not do it because I was with them watching the whole time. THE R & K TECHNICIAN REPLACED MY FACTORY CAPACITOR WITH A CHEAP ONE BECAUSE HE KNEW WHEN WE STARTED USING THE AC MORE FREQUENTLY IT WAS GOING TO FAIL AND WE WOULD CALL HIM BACK FOR THE REPAIR WHICH COSTS ABOUT $ 300! It would have only taken him about 5 to 10 minutes to make the switch. We had Desert Air put a factory capacitor back in it and decided we are never going to call R&K again!

As all valley people know to combat the summer heat you need your home air-​conditioner to be functioning at peek performance. So that means, prior to summer you must get your A/​C serviced.
In the years prior, I had several different a/​c companies perform this service and they did an adequate job. So, as the time for this task to be completed again I began asking friends, family, co-​workers about a/​c companies they have used and their experience with them. My cousin told me about R&K Air Conditioning and they great service they provided for her a/​c. So, I decided to give them an opportunity to earn my future business.
The service tech that came to my house did an outstanding job. He explained to me what steps he was going to take to service the a/​c prior to beginning his inspection, looked at the filters, and asked if the a/​c was not functioning correctly or not up to peek standards. The cost was very reasonable too. The professional service provided by this company has earned my future business and I will highly recommend their services to other consumers! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
