Kam Yee Restaurant

For over a year now, I have been eating next door to this restaurant, it was always one of those sketchy hole-​in-​the-​wall-​way-​too-​much-​msg kind of Chinese restaurants. The windows are covered with posters and flyers, so you cant really see inside from the parking lot, so I never bothered going in. After getting a recommendation from a friend I ventured in, it looks like an office space converted into a restaurant, super NO FRILLS, with what looked like only 2 workers, the server and the cook. The menu was huge, with great lunch specials, everything under five bucks.
We ordered a round of beers, and began choosing our courses. By the way, the beers were only $ 2… good to know for the next drunken lunch-​capade.
For apps, we got tempura shrimp. There was no chili paste, but he brought out the schriracha… and that was good enough.
The next dish beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and crab all fried up and served on a crunchy flour tortilla… thats right, i said tortilla. Which was probably my favorite dish.
We also had pork egg foo young, which was good. Beef chow mein… and another dish that I cant remember.
We ended lunch with another round of beers, and decided that this place wasn’t spectacular, but then its very hard to find a spectacular chinese restaurant. We did decide that we would come back, at least for the $ 2 beers.
