Lies lies lies! Shady business practice!!! My ERS Sales lied and mock up a faulty contract just to sell me a 2 year contract. Once hooked. ERS walked away and left me with horrifying service. Thought I was the only victim until later I found out some of my friends have had the same issues with ERS as well. Their management could careless and instead of investigate their employees, they said the customers should read the contract more carefully! WTF!!!

Bad service! Bad attitude!
I been with them for 3 years, when I change alarm company to att digital life, ERS insist to take their equipment, even the sign in front of door!

Worst service ever alarm battery broke down took 2 weeks for a technician to replace it
He came made thing worst now the system is nonoperable so now I am taking day off from work trying to see if they can come and still no appointment available for week while the safety of my family is at risk

Worst alarm company ever. Sales rep are never around, ladies that pick up the phone are useless. Frustrated with the incompetence of the staff, requested to cancel my account with them and the girl on the phone acted as if she didn’t understand WTF i was asking.
Dont waste money with this company. Go with another that will actually give you customer service

We have ERS as our alarm company for the past 20 years. Unfortunately, our business has the first breakin over the weekend.
The sensor didn’t go off and so we called to request technician to come in and see what else we need to do. After 2 hours, they haven’t showed up. So I called ERS, Becky advised me that they urgent service is to put us on standby, so their technician will show up after their daily appointment.
We even have their DVR service which has been 12 years and the quality is so bad that we could only see the lights of the thieves.
ERS cannot even arrange someone to see what they can do to upgrade the service today.
Wow. It is totally frustrating to use a company who doesn’t care when bad things happen.

This is actually a zero star review, ERS does not even deserve one star. Aside from many of their customer service reps who speak horrible English, their service and products are poor.
We signed up for a three year contract since they offered one year free if we prepaid. Within the three years the system has gone haywire about two times. Both times, we had to pay for someone to come out and inspect and additional fees to fix the problem. When our three years was up, the system started acting up again. Again, we called to see what the error code was and was told we had to pay for someone to come out and that we probably have to pay to get a new updated system! We then said we want to cancel and all of a sudden, the error code disappeared from the panel and the system was working fine again. I am not familiar with how these alarm system works, but it seemed as if they purposely triggered an error code so we would have to pay for an upgrade.
We were offered three months free to stay with the company and when we rejected it, their tone of voice immediately changed and they said we will come and take back all of our equipment. This is unheard of!!! The main reason we were not happy with ERS taking back their system is because we would be left with holes in the walls from the panels and motion sensor that they installed. It is stated in small print on the back of their contract that they will take the equipment at the end of the contract, and yes, my fault for not reading the whole contract, but we have been with several alarm companies through the years and NOT ONE company came back to take their equipment at the end of the service. So when they came to install their panels, I did not keep my original ADT panels since I have never experienced an alarm company taking back their equipment. When this was mentioned to ERS, they asked for us to PROVE that they took our ADT panels!!! This blew me off my feet!!! I was so angry I couldn’t even speak!
ERS also asked us to prove that we had an existing system, which we were able to with the ADT’s invoice and paperwork from the builder. In the end, they told us that we could «go ahead and keep» their system… that they will just send our account to collections. And let me say that all this was over two panels, five window sensors, one motion sensor and two key fobs.
ERS just has miserable customer service… for them to ask their customers to prove this and that is wrong. I have referred their company to many clients and when I told ERS that, they wanted the names and addresses to these clients so they can verify it. WOW.
When I mentioned this to another former ERS customer that I know, she said ERS charged her to come remove the system upon cancellation!!!
Great work, ERS. All you will earn from me here on is a bad review on Unilocal and I promise you this story will not end here on Unilocal… Congrats on ruining your own reputation!

ERS is the absolute worst securities company. Their customer service is rude and unreasonable. I am a new home owner and I keep getting bills from them for the old owner. I called them to tell them that I have a new security system but they insist on sending me bills to my house until I contact the old owner to handle the bill.

This place does NOT deserve one single star; although I’m required to give at least a star to write a review.
Needed to address an issue to its management, I requested to talk with the manager, no manager is available. Then I asked for the supervisor, no supervisor is available. Then I asked for the owner, the owner’s just left.
They give you cannot-​be-​any-​worst attitude when you are canceling the alarm service with them, and when you need to talk to anyone that can make executive decision, simply NO ONE is available during business hours.
I requested them to be responsible to reinstate my drywall to its original condition and liable for all the repair costs if there is any damage to phone line and electrical wires when they remove the equipment, they refused.
Never ever go back to them.

I moved to a new place and the tenant had ERS, but didn’t leave me the keycode. the alarm went off and I called them, they didn’t care.

The sales name Steve is so rude, their system is very very bad, I got service 6 month, the system get down 7 times, and every time they charge me $ 100, cuz their mistake, and until I want cancel my service, the sales even don’t know my name, and he said don’t care who I am. Never saw a company doing business like this, I’ll over service no matter what takes.

Like most of the reviewers, I cannot recommend ERS. In the beginning, I actually didn’t have any problems with them. However in the last year and a half that I was with them, one of my alarm panels was having problems with the display and voice. I asked ERS about a replacement, but the technician said it was an older model and he would have to source a suitable replacement. After a couple of months passed, I called for an update on when they would help me fix my alarm panel with no real answer. I voiced my displeasure to customer service, and I received a call from the owner a couple of days later telling me they were working on finding a replacement alarm panel and to give them some time. However, they never helped me fix my alarm panel.
Because of the lack of service, when I moved to my new home, I decided to go with another company. That’s when I found out how hard it is to cancel your contract. First of all, I don’t understand why I even had to enter a 2 year monitoring contract. At the time, I already had an alarm system installed by the previous owner. In doing research, it seems alarm companies ask you to enter a contract in exchange for free/​cheaper alarm system equipment/​installation. However, I already had the equipment installed and just need monitoring. So I am not sure why I have to enter a 2 year contract and couldn’t just go month to month.
If you don’t want to incur any cancellation fees, you have to cancel after your contract is up (which is obvious). However, they automatically renew your contract. So at the time I called about cancelling, I was on my 2^nd 2 year contract (which I wasn’t aware of). Luckily it was towards the end of that contract. Make sure you check out their terms for cancellation. I believe its a 90 day notice and it has to be in writing. After faxing your cancellation letter, print out the fax confirmation that it was sent. Also, email it or send it by mail with return receipt. That way you have multiple proof that you sent a cancellation letter in writing.
Their monitoring is good. In the 4 years that I had them, I only had one incidence and the police responded fairly fast. But I’m sure any reputable alarm company has good monitoring service. Their service technician and customer service were also pretty nice for the most part. This rating is more for their inability to help me fix my alarm system equipment and their ridiculous contracts and cancellation policies.

This company is a joke. When the security systems are going to new level, they focus on collecting money from old systems. After 8 years of service when I cancelled because of moving to a new address they insisted on paying for additional months in name of contract and cancellation notice. Just too ridiculous. Read your contract well and better do not sign up.

This company is complete crap and I’ve never even been their customer!
I bought a house in Rosemead and the previous owner was using ERS. I said I didn’t want it. I didn’t think any more about it. The next day ERS showed up while I wasn’t there and they literally ripped their equipment off my walls; leaving huge holes in my drywall. Terrible!
And they also vandalized the ERS yard sign I had by the front door. I can see just taking the sign but noooo, they had to break it!
I’m not even their customer and I hate them already!

worst company I had ever used, they did not respond when the alarm goes off, they are not even watching your house, we paid the monthly fees for nothing. One time I got a false alarm middle of the night, they did not call back to make sure if we are ok, I called the next day, then they apologized and told me the person supposed to be watching had fell as sleep and they will fire him/​her. Anyway after my contract over, I give them notice to stop the service, they came in to my property and remove all of my system.

Their customer service is good. The techie put on his shoe covers before we asked him to do so.

First of all I just want to point out that Kevin and Benny here obviously work for them. I’m surprised Unilocal wasn’t able to screen that.
Here’s my experience:
I signed up for their service for 2 years, from 2011 – 2013. The guy who came to install my equipment was really rude and more importantly seemed like he was gonna be the guy to rob the place. The service was spotty with false alarms all the time. They charged more than modern «intelligent homes» for some of the most basic services and old equipment. I eventually cancelled service after finishing paying my ridiculous 2 year contract that was surprisingly deceitful and switched. They contacted me saying I owed them money for early termination and I showed them proof that I finished my 2 years. Instead of working things out with me they simply relegated my case to a collections agency who tried to harass me.
At this point in time it’s likely I’ll have to take the collections agency to court for harassment violating FTC laws which is a real pain in the butt when I’ve done nothing wrong. So consider that this could happen to you if you decide to buy service from ERS, who in my honest opinion is a dying company because they’re outdated and not even close to competitively priced with other agencies, and more importantly don’t believe in dealing with customers.

I used ERS from 1997 – 2013. The service super quick and employees were well-​trained. Friendly technicians and yard signs were dropped off the same day. They have the professionalism you’ll want. EXCELLENT I had it until I saved some money switching to TMC.

We just had our alarm system installed in our new house. The consultant was very professional and the service was fast. They worked with our schedule so we could have our interior painted before the full equipment installation. The installers were awesome. They even helped w/​cable pre-​wiring that Internet installer wasn’t willing to do. Very satisfied. Excellent service!

I wish I can give these jerks zero stars. Be-​careful of their auto contract renew. I sign a contract with them for 2 years. I call about 4 month prior to my contract expire to cancel the auto renew (yes 4 month. This company require you to cancel 90 prior to the contract end). Their rep told me just fax it in and it all done. 5 month later I call to cancel my service. They told me my contract was auto renew because they did not receive my phone call or fax. Avoid this company at all cause.
