I come from a family with foot problems and saw my first podiatrist before I was two. So when my son injured, what we thought was just a toe I sought out Dr Colon.
She was awesome, staff was welcoming, felt like we were well taken care of right away. He had broken his foot which explained a lot of the pain.
I had complete confidence in her. My son found her very nice and respectful.
I know exactly where to go the next time we need a podiatrist

Dirty facility. Old. Beyond tired building. The whole experience and tone of the place is degrading.
Slow — plan to wait forever.
Lousy service. Unresponsive reception. They get you right away with their sign boldly posted on their mirrored reception window (so you can’t see the receptionist!) which says «Do NOT knock on window.»
Generally, dreadful. I’d never go back.

Last year, I booked an appointment with Dr. Colon after a disappointing experience with a orthopedic clinic. No doctor could see me on short notice at the Orthopedic clinic so I saw a nurse practitioner who took X-​rays and told me the only diagnosis he could make was tendonitis on my swollen ankle. After a week of suffering in an air-​boot that I didn’t know how to use properly (because I was taught in less than 2 mins how to use that and crutches which I had never used before in my life), I went with a mutual friend’s recommendation that I see Dr. Colon. My friend had had great results for her son’s injury.
Dr. Colon’s office is deceiving because it’s not filled with the latest technology or systems like the clinic I went to, but she right away took care of my ankle issue and set my ankle in a soft cast. It was a few minutes of pain to get to relief. Once my foot was in the soft cast, it really felt a lot better and she figured out that I had a stretched ligament and a medium ankle sprain. She also taught me how to use my airboot and gave me advice. It was worth the hour drive away to get the best care for my ankle. She was personable and offered up a real assessment with results that I felt right away.
I’m happy to say that now my ankle is almost 100%. I am so grateful for Dr. Colon who saved me from more pain and helped me with the right help.

I have been suffering from a heel spur and spider veins, and the pain is something I have just learned to live with over the years, because other doctors have told me there is nothing they can do unless I opt for a surgery.
Dr. Colon helped me with laser treatment, and explained to me that even if I do get that surgery… there is not a 100% chance it will even work… I have the spur in a weird place on the heel.
I have been going for laser treatments weekly for over a month, and my spider veins have all but disappeared, and my legs and feet feel amazing!
She is a warm and caring woman, who listens to what you are saying, and offers holistic advice as well as western medicine knowledge.
I have recommended tons of clients and friends to her, and love my visits there, because I know I will be walking a bit taller as I walk out, because I have less and less pain!

Very small, old, and dirty as well. They tried to charge to charge me $ 75 just for a five minute consultation that was not helpful or comforting at all, her nurse was very cold and standoffish. I have insurance but according to them I didn’t meet my deductible. They were going to charge me $ 250 for an ingrown toe nail procedure. It was ridiculous to me. I decided to go see my dermatologist who referred me to the offices of pacific foot and ankle specialist on foothill and grand ave in Glendora with Dr. Edwin, who is great by the way. I only paid my co pay of $ 10 for everything, I asked the girl in charge of billing if it made a difference if I was referred or not, she said no, which she was right because I recommended a co worker with the same insurance as mine who had a ingrown toe nail to them and he only paid his co pay as well. I think dr. Michelles office charges the insurance and customer and gets away with it in most cases because most of her are customers are from the area of el monte who unfortunately aren’t well informed of other choices I would not recommend this place at all.

Here’s the thing: I can’t even write a review on the actual doctor because the receptionist kept trying to give me the runaround on what they were even going to charge me for a simple procedure. I’m inclined to believe Scott H. Places like that aren’t exactly trustworthy and telling me they’re not going to give me a price on a simple procedure until after I’ve already made the visit, took time out of my day, and gone through everything is super shady.
I’ll add this: She might be good at what she does, but she should really either change her policy or get a more personable receptionist.

Dr Colon is an amazing woman. I sent my mother to her for her numerous foot problems and she helped her alot. In getting to know her better, I found out that she takes one day a week to visit patiens that are not able to come to her office. She works in the community helping others that are less fortunate. This is a Doctor with a heart of gold. It is very rare to find a Doctor as sweet and caring as Dr. Colon and I highly recommend her to my friends and family. I know that if I start having issues with my feet, I will be taken care of. A Doctor like this is one in a million.

Michele is a personable and caring individual. This type of care is what we all hope to get from our doctors.

As a patient of Dr. Colon’s and a woman, I can honestly say I wouldn’t trust my feet with anyone else. She is passionate about her work, and understands how important it is to us gals to have our feet look and feel beautiful. She’s thorough and genuine. She’s the only doctor I know of that makes house calls. Her work with diabetic patients is remarkable and patients adore her… at least the ones I know of. After years of dealing with ingrown pain (mostly from wearing closed toe heels) she was the one to fix it… for good.

What a burst of sunshine Dr. Michele is! She is a joy to be around and a true innovator in her industry. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see how she is literally going to shape the future of women’s shoes and more importantly feet.

I treated my foot for months now as per my instructions, and it is getting worse.
Beyond that, the building itself needs help. I had to check my phone 5 times before I was convinced I had the right place. It is a building on a corner by itself, that almost looks like it is out of business.
The waiting room should definitely lose the old, stained fabric couches and opt for some plastic chairs. Granted, not as comfy on the bum, but way more sanitary. The waiting room is a first impression, y’all really should put your best food forward, no pun intended. I did not enjoy waiting in that waiting room. A makeover in there does not have to be expensive.
The staff is nice — very patient and accommodating. Dr. Colon herself I found to be curt. I’ve never seen her smile! That might be fine for some of you, but not for me. I like some personality in my doctor. That’s not saying she doesn’t have personality, she just didn’t show it with me any of the times I was there. Which is partly why I won’t go back. If you have a great relationship with her, that’s super, good for you.
My insurance is very particular… For appointments like this, I pay first, and they reimburse me later once I reach my deductible. I always have to explain this to reception who gets it pretty quick. For some reason, these guys only charged me half of the full rate, then billed me the rest later. Come on guys. I have to submit paperwork with receipts, so had to drive ALL the way back to El Monte to fix the mistake and fill out new paperwork. El Monte is not down the street from me. It is a commitment to go there.
Once I went to fill a prescription the doc wrote for me. I darn near passed out when the girl at the pharmacy told me it would be over $ 300. I called Dr. Colon’s office, and the girl at the front told me that they sell a $ 10 cream I could come back to buy that does the same thing. Come back to El Monte.
WHY WOULDN’T YOU OFFER THAT FIRST?! I ain’t made of money. Apparently I’m just made of toenail fungus that won’t go away.

She’s a diligent worker and strong women. She committed to her practice and works well and consistently with the community. I’ve known her for a year and she is constantly working with her patients and helping others when it comes to our beautiful feet!
She always has a smile on her face and enjoys her work! That’s what I love in Dr.‘s! She care about her patients well being. She is calm, collective and will help you in all of your metatarsal needs ;-)
Feet are our foundation. Take care of them! And when you do… call Dr. Michele Colon!
