Minh’s auto is the best! They are so honest and professional. They know what they were doing and try to make it affordable/​reasonable for you. They are not just the business, they do care about their customer needs. I only trust them to deal with my car! All I can say is you won’t get rip off in this place for sure!:)

Minh has always taken care of me. I always trust his judgement and his honestly. It’s hard going to mechanics and debating whether or not they’re telling you the truth. His team are friendly and efficient. Been recommending this place to everyone I know!

I came here today on a Tuesday afternoon around 2−3pm. There was no wait so they worked on my car asap, yes! Took less than 30 mins! They charge around $ 60ish for an oil change (synthetic oil) for a luxury cars which will last you about 5,000 miles. My mom knows the boss so he was cool. Both the boss and mechanic were telling me about the kinds of oil and things that needed changing on my car like my filter for my ac. They definitely know what they’re doing and prices are fair. They also fixed my car after I was in an accident and did a good job. You can’t even tell I was in an accident!

Best auto mechanic! Minh and his crew do an awesome job. It does get crowded here sometimes. Make sure to call ahead of time.

Ive been coming to Minh’s for almost 3 years now. They are very friendly but best of all, honest. They tell it like it is and makes sure you don’t get ripped off. I trust them with everything !

Mr Lee has been my mechanic for four years now. Recently he closed his shop because his English is not to good and the paperwork was getting overwhelming. He works for Minh now, and I’m glad I followed him! Minh and Lee have always been honest with what work needs to be done and what can wait. They always give me options, and I’ve referred all my friends and family. I just really trust them and know I’m in good hands.

Excellent service! Call ahead because this place is known for great quality service with good prices. It takes a lot to trust a good mechanic and I have definitely found one!
Oh by the way, I drive a Prius and I was expecting to pay a lot!

My mom and I have been to Minh’s for over 6 years. He is just the absolute best. He always gives the most honest opinion on the best route for your car. He is always about honesty and never recommends or does unnecessary repairs.

I was referred here by a friend because I have been trying to look for a repair shop that I can REALLY TRUST AND CAN RELY ON for a while now. I was a bit hesitant at first because I did not know the guys here and as with every new auto service shop I go to, I get a little anxiety.
First of all, MINH is just welcoming in general. He welcomed my questions and my confusion. He welcomed and understood my frustrations. He knows his stuff. He took care of me. Gave me much needed advice. Explained to me what he was doing and gave me an out-​the-​door estimate before I even came into the shop. His estimate was far lower than all the other shops around the 626 area for THE SAME SERVICE. On top of that, he had the parts in the shop so I didn’t have to wait at all for him to order them.
Secondly, Minh is friendly. We both speak cantonese so it was easy to find things to talk about. However, it wasn’t just easy to find things to talk about, it’s overall really easy to talk to him, ask him things, and have a conversation with him. It feels like I’ve known him for years.
I said to him, «You know you can’t get rid of me now. I’m going to come to you and call you and ask you about my car problems in the future.»
Welcoming my self-​invitation, he says something along the lines of, «Go ahead! I’ll be here. Call me if you need help.»
I value his advice and his honesty. That makes me trust him and it allows me to open up and go to him about issues that I am having with the car and I feel less anxiety because no matter where I go, I trust that his expertise is one call away. I will undoubtedly refer ALL my friends and family here and nowhere else.

A few years ago, someone broke into my car and some pieces of the broken glass must have still been lodged between my window because it started making some funny noises recently. Whenever I rolled my window up, it would sound like fingernails on a chalkboard. After getting a few quotes and recommendations from friends, I called Minh and stopped by in the morning. Minh and Doug (?) were able to fix my window at a fraction of the cost I was quoted elsewhere AND it was all done in less than 30 minutes. In sum, I will obviously be a returning customer. Whoo hoo!

I come here every quarter to get an oil change for my Fit. They’re quick and reliable. Phat always updates me on what else needs to get checked on or fixed. I don’t look under the hood or anything. So whatever he tells me is helpful.

Minh is very honest and upfront with whether certain work needs to be done. I once had to bring in my car to change my spark plugs in order for my warranty with the dealership to remain valid. Minh was very honest and said that they did not need to be changed. I really appreciate his honesty, rather than doing unnecessary things just to make money.

Very good service, very reasonable prices, and job well done on my 1995 miata’s power steering! Minh and the crew are very dedicated and are always very honest about their work.

This asshole hasn’t changed one bit, obviously i don’t come here anymore, and against my advice my friend still does. So a few month ago my friend drops his car off here for brake service and ask me to pick him up since it was going to take a while. Minh see me picking him up and it was all down hill from there since he read my review on his shady business practice and figured out it was me who blasted him on Unilocal.
So I picked up my friend at 8 am and we have a long 3 hour breakfast close by only to be called at 11am to come back because the owner wants to tell my friend something, truth is he want us to come back so he can yell at me, which he did, rather than trying to make things right. I don’t say a word and walk off back to my car while my friend tries to calm Minh the fuck down.
So after 10 minutes all is good and he agrees to have Tony fix the brakes, which he has done in the past. Another 2 hours goes by and what do you know, he calls back saying the car isn’t done because we doesn’t have the «special tool» to take off the brake calipers. 5 hours wasted and brakes on my friends car were not done, what a waste of a day.
Whether or not the excuse was true or he just wanted to try and fuck me over ill let you decide. Looks like he lost another customer.
My friend ended up taking his car to D2Techniks in Alhambra and it was done in 2 hours and when we ask if there was any special bits or sockets to take the caliper off, they said «No, everything was done using standard tools that all shops have, interesting huh?

I“m sorry that there isn’t a 0 stars for this business. Minh is a very deceiving «business“man that takes no pride in his work nor does he back anything he does. He put a defective starter into my car which resulted in $$$ to tow it and yet he would not cover the charges. I had to personally take the starter out of the car MYSELF, drive the 45 miles back to his shop to get a new one (which he almost bait and switched me into giving a off-​brand/​generic when I paid for an OEM!). I then sat there for 3 hours while he ‘ordered’ a new one to arrive. The nerve of this guy leads me to never go to him ever again for any automotive issues and to advise others to stay away as well! I had major service (timing belt, etc.) done to my other car and now I“m worried what’s going to happen to him. I am currently pursuing a chargeback via my credit card company. Fool me once!

I have been going to Minh Auto Service since 2007. His price is always cheaper than any other places while his service is outstanding. I tried other 5 stars auto service shops around the area and can tell that his service is as good while he charges 30−40% cheaper. Highly recommended!

Firstly, it’s sort of funny that three auto centers take up this facility. One is for collision, the other is for auto and tires — just like Minh’s. This is a very busy place, so it is recommended to park outside on Valley Blvd, and talk to one of the mechanics before bringing your car in. My visit was for a simple oil change, but boy did I get so much more.
You know the mythical air conditioner element, fluid level toping, and other goodies you pay the extra $ 10 at other oil changing facilities you’re supposed to get, but can never verify while they are doing it because you aren’t allowed to enter the garage? Well, after checking it after I leave, I rarely ever get those extra goodies. However! At Minh’s, they let you stand next to the mechanic as he does his thing. This is rare and VERY valuable as I will explain in a bit.
I didn’t get minh, but I got someone else, they all looked friendly except my mechanic =\, however, he opened up after a little chit-​chat. He’s a bit scary, as he smokes while doing an oil change. He keeps it safe though :). Here’s where the valuable part I was talking about. While the oil was changing, he pointed out that my brake tire pads needs changing in the front (verified last week when another mechanic took off the tires and looked at it). «Needs changing, but it can wait a few months, so save your money.» I was awed by his honesty. If he was a cut-​throat greedy mechanic, he would’ve lied and said «change asap.» Another valuable aspect is he actually gave me a few tips while driving to make those pads last even longer!
Okay, oil done draining and filter’s on. Time to add the oil and for me to go away right? Nope! The service continues! While the battery was added, I was confused when he actually opened the air conditioner element to check on it as I’ve never seen this done before. It didn’t look that dirty, so no replacement was needed; BUT he went to the back, got condensed air and started cleaning it anyway! After that, he asked if I minded if he tested the battery. Why would I? After his diagnostics, he notified me that I was well below average (265 CCA vs. 460 for normal). I’ll edit this post once I find out if this is false or not, but I am still awed he would go that far for me, even though this shop does not sell batteries and would not make any profit in running the diagnostics.
One final thing he asked before I left: «did you re-​do the timing belts yet? I only ask because your car is above 135,000 miles now.» Ah-​Ha! So their trick was to make me feel friendly with them then try to make me get a repair much more expensive than previously mentioned? Turns out, I was wrong with this theory. He called over Minh to see if it has been done yet (I got this car from my brother, so I have no idea if he did it or not). He started feeling around and concluded «it is very LIKELY it was done. Go double check with your brother! You see, people who do timing belt work have to remove everything and usually they break a few things here and there. This car has this, that, and this screw broken.» That guy is a god. He can diagnose just by looking and feeling around for 30 seconds, because I called up my brother and he got it right. It was done.
Their final diagnosis was «next time you get your oil checked, that might be when you need your brakes replaced. Get this done first. I know there’s still a battery issue, but brakes are more important than batteries. Anybody can jump start you if you get stuck. I want you to be safe on that road out there!» That last sentence is what will make me come back to them forever instead of anywhere else.
So here’s where I got worried. All this service had to be expensive right? Damn I love being wrong now. $ 18! That’s $ 10 cheaper than most oil change companies will charge you who don’t go through this extra 100 miles to keep you safe. Now I refuse to go anywhere else, because Minh and his crew kept in mind about my safety before my paycheck.
