If you live locally, it’s a nice place, with a nice atmosphere, and very friendly and warm staff. This is what I like most about the place. I personally take issue marketing themselves as a taste of Italy, when they only offer a few Italian items on the menu alongside burgers, fries, and wings, but the overall atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food is okay. We had the caprese salad, slices of mozzarella and tomatoes served on top of a bed of spinach with a dipping sauce and two slices of toasted garlic bread. The bread was either stale of warmed too long because it was too crunchy and the center a bit tough to bite into, but it was tasty and better than what most Italian restaurants in El Paso serve. We had a Margarita pizza. The sauce on the pizza is very good and loaded with cheese. Unlike the heavy tomato paste sauces many places serve that leaves you with indigestion afterwards, Amore Mio’s sauce was slightly sweet and mild. It is also topped with grape tomatoes, but use caution biting into the grape tomatoes as they are piping hot coming out of the oven and when you bite into a whole grape tomato, they explode, coating your mouth in hot liquid. We also had wings– there’s nothing special to say about the wings except they were good. And, we finished off with cannoli’s and tiramisu, which we thought were both extremely good and freshly prepared, which was a pleasant ending to a nice meal. I have an issue with not serving espresso, but I’m probably one of the few people to order therefore, I can’t blame them for not investing in an espresso machine which can be costly. Now, let me pick on them for saying «This is where to get a taste of Italy in El Paso.» First, they don’t have any Italian appetizers on the menu. Where’s the calamari, bruschetta, antipasto, or even fried mozzarella? On the pasta menu, they offer Alfredo Tortellini, but the description offers fettuccini pasta instead of tortellini, which are heart shaped pasta stuffed with either cheese or meat. Lasagna, which they push as their signature dish, is not made with cream cheese. And, bread is served at the beginning of the meal, not tortilla soup. This isn’t to say the dishes aren’t tasty– we enjoyed everything we ordered– but, they certainly are not Italian. Imagine someone from El Paso visiting Little Italy in New York City and you see a review for a restaurant calling «Viva El Paso» A Gem In The Heart of NYC, that markets itself as «A little taste of Mexico in the heart of New York». They start you out with bread instead of chips and salsa, they don’t offer guacamole or queso; don’t serve tortilla’s with your meal, the carnita’s are just cubed pork chops quickly pan fried, the enchilada’s are topped with tomato sauce, the green chile’s are just green bell peppers devoid of any heat, no beans, no mole, no rice, and you never hear that final question when ordering, «red or green sauce?» Even though everything might taste ok and the flan was damn good, what would you think? You’d say to yourself, «this is the last time I eat Mexican food in New York.» Again, this is a nice neighborhood bar that is warm and friendly and offers something a little different than the Mexican fare that is the hallmark of El Paso and exists on every street corner. I hope locals take in Amore Mio’s and I wish them success. If I lived around the corner, I’d visit more often because it is a nice place with a great staff that works hard to please. And, on a cold winter night, I might order the lasagna for comfort (assuming I’m not making my own).

Great place, great food and atmosphere on Fridays. Very glad this opened up in lower valley area.

This little hole in the wall is great! The only way I found it was because I live so close to it and I saw it took the spot of a wing place. It’s a acute little place, the pizza was tastey, my husband got the calzone and it was huge. He prefers more cheese in them but good nonetheless. My kids had the kids spaghetti plate, it came with a garlic knot and a bread stick. The meatballs are okay, they need a bit more flavor to them. A complimentary tortilla soup is offered and it’s tasty! The brownie is huge as well! It’s good food for a great price as well.

Had a pretty wonderful experience here. Came in for take-​out and were offered some water. Lo and behold, it’s cucumber and spearmint water! Quite refreshing. Got to sample the tortilla soup. It’s a must-​try!
The pizza was very good. Look for some interesting toppings, like capers and asparagus, which make the pizza a fun experience.
Their location is expanding and it’s well-​deserved. Definitely a gem in the Lower Valley.

the atmosphere is good, the spinach artichoke dip was very good, the amore mio pizza and the isabela pasta was great the canoli was excellent, presentation of the food was great and the server was very nice and attentive
