House of Dames

I first stumbled upon House of Dames last year a couple of weeks before Halloween because, as usual, I was putting together a costume last minute. Typically I’m a fan of Frederick’s and get a corset or two to complete a few outfits each year. And after looking at HOD, I thought I found somewhere with the same quality corsets without the fees of shipping and what not.
HOD isn’t the El Paso Frederick’s equivalent (and no they don’t carry Frederick’s), but it’s nice and affordable if you want a simple corset that probably won’t stay on too long. The corsets themselves are better quality than what’s available at Hot Topic, Spencers, or Jewelery Box, but the costumes and costume corsets are about the same. I was a tad disappointed seeing the options, but they do have costumes and these could be a great choice for anyone that wants something different than what’s at Party City and all those other pop-​up Halloween stores.
A lot of the costumes and corsets appeared to be One Size Fits All or had a small, medium, large option and I’m not particularly fond of that because I like my corsets to be fitted to my specific body type… but again this is fine for a simple costume.
Customer service was good. So I think I’ll probably go back if I need something quick, but I’ll probably stick to the actual corsets and steer clear of the costumes.
