4 Star Gym has a 40+ year history. The gym has an old school feel, with many of its members training for strength focused sports such as powerlifting, olympic lifting, crossfit, etc. The gym has eight power racks, Forza Competition Bench, Kettle Bells, Dumbbells up to 150 lbs, Kilo plates, pound plates, bumper plates, heavy bag and a Jiu Jitsu/Wrestling room.

In addition to personal training options, 4 Star Gym is home to Game Time Strength (GTS) & Conditioning. Game Time Strength is a multi-coach, team based training system for those looking to improve their movement patterns, operate under a goal based nutrition system and master strength in the big lifts like squat, bench, deadlift, and overhead press.

History

Established in 1969.

4 Star Gym has been in business since 1969, originally opened by Jim Fox. Seven years later, he sold the gym to Horace McKenna (Big Mac), who ran the gym until 1989. The next owner was Steve Sirridge (Bear), who ran the gym until 1995, then Dorrian Bell took over for another seven years, passing the gym onto Bob Mackay. Bob ran the gym until August 2008, but then decided to close it. Current owner Michael Goff had been working out at 4 Star Gym since 1982, and did not want to see the gym close. He bought the gym with his wife, and has since made significant renovations to the space (with a lot of help from our members). We are proud of the strong sense of community that makes 4 Star Gym unique, and look forward to working out with you.
