Canton Low has not failed me yet; as a matter of fact I doubt they will. Everything I’ve ordered during lunch has been great. From to Curry Chicken, to the Combo Fried Rice, to the Kung Pao Chicken has been very delish. I’m gonna have to check out dinner one day…

I would give the 0 stars but Unilocal doesn’t give that option. I can’t count how many problems I encountered tonight with them. These are some of the rudest people I have EVER encountered in the restaurant business. First off, I ordered no sprouts or mushrooms in my chow mien, to my awesome surprise when they delivered, guess what was in my chow mien? What I asked not to be in there. Before the driver left he handed me my food and took my card to charge me, he then asks me to sign and I try to leave. He then tries TAKING the food from my hand and says«you need to tip.» Umm. Excuse me? I was so annoyed at the point for a $ 30 meal I tipped $ 2. And I’m a good tipper and fair tipper, but I was so pissed I couldn’t. My friend being appalled at me telling her what happened takes my phone to call them and try and nicely resolve this issue since she works in the restaurant business and knows that all of this was unacceptable. Not only was the owner not there, that manger wasn’t there. Both owner and manger were on vacation and wouldn’t be back for 3 weeks! Illegal for no one to be supervising incase, I don’t know, something like this happens!!! They offered me a 15% discount off my order. That doesn’t even cover the order of egg rolls! We ask for a new plate of chow mien to be delivered the right way and was denied. I could go on about how rude the TWO people I talked to were and how I wanted to go off on the driver but I will instead let you decide if you want to support a business like this.

Went there on a Saturday night for dinner. Got there about 820, and they close at 9. Found out its take out only. Not serving eat in cuz they need to close at 9. So why even stay open? Didn’t eat there and didn’t takeout.

Lunch specials are worth it but don’t order dinner. Dinner is overpriced and for whatever reason of lower quality than their lunch. Their cook must differ during lunch rush hour. Great curry chicken special for lunch but no brown rice.

Just tried their delivery service for the first time. New to the hood… excellent food! Made exactly to order, and quite delicious. Limited menu; perhaps because it’s Cantonese style?! There were several things we wanted to order but they didn’t serve, like Chow Fun. The egg rolls are small but tasty and light, perfectly crisp. We ate the Mu Shu Chicken w/o pancakes, another yummy dish. And special ordered fried tofu with mushrooms and broccoli which was outta this world! Next time we’ll try eating at the restaurant to see how the atmosphere is. We already know the food is excellent!

I feel like most of the people giving low stars had a freak incident or expect way too much out of inexpensive Chinese food. I work close and only eat here for lunch. You do have to know what to order though. I tried the sweet and sour pork and there was a bit too much breading but the chicken curry was very good and the sauces/spices are tasty. The lunch meal also comes with soup and an eggroll and won ton. Service is always speedy which is just what I’m looking for in a lunch drop in.

The only thing missing was flavor… Dropped by Canton Low for lunch with a friend and had the Mongolian Beef dish. Soup was good, egg roll was good, beef was tender and nicely prepared, it just wasn’t at all flavorful, so I can’t recommend it. Lunch meals are a tad on the small size which might work for dieters.

Too Long between updates, it been almost 6 years since my last review of this location and a sure sign of success is the constancy between the last review and this one, The food is still good, the service is outstanding and the value is there. Prices are very reasonable and you cant beat the service. Highly recommended, when you are in the mood for Chinese food.

Pros: + Location is nice looking Cons: — Food made a few of us feel sick — Orange chicken was disgusting — Fifteen dollar minimum on ATM — Beef and Broccoli wasn’t good — Egg rolls were gross — Server was rude Tip: Don’t believe the reviews, the Orange Chicken is horrible! It’s chewy and it does not taste like chicken at all. Makes Panda Express taste like a five star restaurant in comparison. Came here with my co-workers and when our orders came and we finished our meals we all came to the same conclusion that everything(Beef and Broccoli, Egg Rolls, even the dang rice) was pretty bad and none of us wanted to come back. I will say that the Shrimp Lo Mein tasted alright, but it made me feel nauseous so I wouldn’t recommend it. The Orange Chicken was disgusting. Worst chicken I’ve ever had in my life. People raving about the Orange Chicken are craaaaaaazy. Don’t believe the hype. The server was also rude. Had a bad attitude and those stupid-looking holes in his ears with black cones in them. Don’t know why that’s relevant. hahaha Anyway… Bad food, bad service and sickness. Don’t eat here.

I don’t even want to give them one star because their service was ridiculously rude! I have never NOT left a tip and this place just earned it!(claps, good job guys). They basically made us pay while we were eating because they wanted to close out. The owner asked the guy to ask us why we didn’t tip and when we were explaining why he had a smirk on his face and was questioning everything we mentioned. As we were walking out they started talking in their language(you know what that means. they were talking sh! t). Next time I go I’m taking my black bodyguard to put them in their place.

Pretty much the worst chow mein I’ve ever had. I called to make sure there were no mushrooms in it, which they assured me there wasn’t any… however, there were TONS of mushrooms! I mean if you like mushrooms this may be your deal but I have a mushroom allergy. It was SUPER greasy and overcooked noodles. They had no flavor and was bland as all hell. I ate maybe 6 or 7 bites and I had to stop. The greasiness was just too much for me. It cost me $ 10 for my food plus tip… NOTWORTHIT!!! The only reason I am giving this place 1 star(other than Unilocal won’t allow me to give no stars which I think they should… who’s with me?!) is because the delivery was very fast(maybe 15 minutes tops). My co-worker was not thrilled with her food either… pretty much the same complaints I have(minus the mushrooms). Will not be going back.

In the past 2 years we have decided to give this place another go and we are happy with the food and service, not sure what changed but it did for the better. We are back to Chinese Food Fridays, Curry chicken and fried rice.

This is one of the only Chinese places that delivers in town, so we usually order in rather than dining at their restaurant. The food is average but always consistent as far as main stream Chinese food is concerned. They give generous portions and good amounts of meat in ratio to veggies!

I wish I had come with several friends so we could share dishes. Started with egg rolls which were crispy, but not greasy and you could taste all the veggies inside. Good start! I then had the shrimp with lobster sauce, which is a personal favorite. It would be better if fresh mushrooms, carrots, and peas were used, but the sauce was perfect and the shrimp were plump and delicious. Service was quick and attentive even with their phone ringing off the hook. Portions were large so I had plenty left to take home. I will come back and I’ll also order from here for lunch for my team at work.

Best freaking Chinese food ever!!! This is the real deal! Chow mein was unbelievable, king pao shrimp was to die for and the orange peel chicken was the real deal, yes it’s a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. You want a party on your taste buds? Then this is the place to go. And the free hot tea? Tell you what, take a bite of the Orange chicken then a sip of the tea and it is magic on your tongue. I’m enjoying my left overs right now!

I had dinner here a few nights ago and have been meaning to write a Unilocal review. It was delicious just like I remembered. My favorite dishes here are orange chicken, hot and sour soup, garlic string beans, Kung pao chicken, and lemon chicken. It feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant and the food tastes that way too. Every time I’m in the area I make it a point to stop by this restaurant. I love all the remodeling they have done to this place. I can’t wait to go back.

Can you give negative stars??? This place was the worst! From the minute we set foot in the door until we walked out it was a downward spiral. The host and the waitress were very rude. I seriously think there were some racial overtones. Nonetheless, we pressed on. I ordered the chicken broccoli and my boyfriend ordered the broccoli beef from the lunch menu. The meal started with a gelatinous cup of egg drop soup that was completely disgusting. The entrée quickly followed. It included salad, fried rice, a wonton and an egg roll. The chicken tasted like it came straight out of the can! It was so unappetizing. The fried rice was hard and bland. The only think I could stomach was the wonton. My boyfriend wasn’t making out much better. He advised that he had much different expectations and the meal was subpar to say the least. They quickly brought the bill during our meal. I discreetly spoke to the waiter and advised that I did not enjoy my meal and did not eat. He immediately got defensive and demanded to know what was wrong with the meal. I advised that it wasn’t very tasty and the chicken did not seem fresh. They started speaking to each other in Cantonese. I expressed to them that it was rude to start speaking in Cantonese directly in front of us so that we could not understand what they were saying about US. I remained polite and calm during the exchange. Reluctantly, the manager instructed the server to give us 10% off the bill. Given their terrible disposition, my boyfriend refused the discount and requested to pay the bill in full. After paying the bill, we left the restaurant and our plates full of food behind never to look back. Do yourself a favor, go to China Grill instead!

Girls lunch at Canton Low! I’ve heard about Canton Low several times and so I was super excited when some of my friends suggested a lunch get together here! I had heard good things and was looking forward to trying out a new place for good Chinese food as well as a nice little lunch with the girls. We all decided to get the lunch special, which ranged in price from $ 8.50 to $ 8.95. The lunch special comes with hot and sour soup(egg flower join request), egg roll, wonton and choice of fried rice or steamed rice. I chose to get the kung pao chicken with fried rice. The kung pao chicken was different from other kung pao chicken entrees I’d ever had. It had some water chestnuts alongside the peanuts and chili peppers. It was delicious and very good in flavor! I was also impressed with the fried rice that came with the lunch special because it had little pieces of chashu! The fried rice was a good match with the kung pao chicken. In addition to the kung pao chicken, I got to try some of my friends dishes like the sweet and sour pork, beef with broccoli and hot and sour chicken! They were all very good but the kung pao chicken was my favorite! All in all it’s good place for Chinese food. Their lunch special prices fare on the higher side compared to some other South Bay Chinese eateries though but then again there aren’t too many places for Chinese food in the El Segundo area.
