Guiding Hands Learning Center

What a great location for a tutoring center. Moms can drop their kids off while they shop or meet friends for lunch… This is not just an after school program they really focus on educating students and the tutoring is high quality.
Great staff working there. I was so impressed by this organization I asked how I could be more involved!

My daughter attended Guiding Hands Learning Center for the month of September. I was not happy with her experience there. I was fortunate enough to secure a spot at her school’s CDC starting October so that we did not have to return to Guiding Hands.
Guiding Hands Learning Center is not a daycare so licensing is not required. This means there is no licensing agency that regulates how this learning center is run.
Guiding Hands will pick up your child from school. If your child requires a car seat, families are to provide the car seat. But this does not mean your child will sit in their own car seat. They may sit in another child’s car seat regardless of if the car seat fits or if the seat belts are setup properly for the child.
While they do accommodate for students’ varying schedules, it is not done well. When my daughter had a shortened schedule at school and dismissed at 11:15 am, i.e. lunch was not part of the school schedule, I asked Ramsey if he would make sure she would have time to eat lunch when she arrived at Guiding Hands. This did not happen. When I picked her up at 3:00 pm, her lunch was untouched. Needless to say she scarfed up her lunch in the car ride home. Lack of communication between the manager and the other employees is quite concerning.
Every Friday is Pinkberry Friday. It’s a nice treat to look forward to every Friday but it can get expensive after awhile as it does add up. If you don’t send your child with money, they will sit on the sidelines watching the other kids eat Pinkberry.
The straw that broke the camel’s back: my 5 yo daughter saw pictures of «butts without clothes» on the computers at the learning center. The learning center takes students from kindergarten to 5^th grade. So there are older kids that will influence the younger kids, in both positive and negative ways. An older student typed in the word «butt» in a search engine and my five year old daughter was exposed to images she should not have seen at five years old. Apparently parental controls are installed on the computers, but the settings on the software were not adequate to prevent students from looking at inappropriate images.
Don’t bother checking into Unilocal for the discount. It wasn’t applied to our bill.
