MAC Cosmetics

Great set of girls working this location! Came in today and was going to exchange a product I purchased earlier in the day but was still in the fence, ended up keeping it but to keep a long story short the ladies here were sweet and accommodating.
I’ve read that customer service at this location is bad but I’ve been coming here for some time and I’ve always enjoyed the help. I think part of the reason is that they give such one on one help that sometimes it can come off like they’re ignoring other customers but thats really not the case.
Always clean and they have plenty of parking. Located right next to Marmalade and Lululemon with plenty of other neat little shops around!

This is my favorite Mac store on the westside. I usually go to topanga malls mac Bc their customer service is the best I’ve ever had with Mac. But sometimes I vent make it over the there. Every Time I come to this location though the gals are great! Never have to wait for help, and they seem knowledgeable

Where can I start? I never knew about this location until a friend of mine told me about it. The few times I visited MAC was at South Bay Galleria and Del Amo Mall. As a makeup artist I have to keep my kit up to date which means I have to visit makeup stores very often. Needless to say MAC was not my favorite place to go at all. I always felt at the other two locations the makeup artists are unfriendly and closed minded. I never felt comfortable, specially because I do not believe I have to go dressed up and dolled up to go shopping so the people at the other locations I felt would see me as as less or not acknowledge me at all, and more shockingly because I am a male I think they thought I was not there to shop for makeup. Anyways, let me focus on the positive. As a makeup artist I get to be part of the Pro program (Thank you MAC), it took me a while to actually think and apply for it because I never felt comfortable with the locations I knew and were closed to where I live. After I got accepted into the program it took me a while to visit an actual store, until my friend mentioned MAC at the Park Plaza in El Segundo. I remember the first time I went into the store I felt warmth and I felt very welcomed. As time progressed I kept going more and more and every time I go am amazed by how friendly and welcoming and prepared all the staff is. As a Makeup Artist I always keep my mind open and when I visit the store I am like a sponge. I ask and ask and ask questions and they always give me answers and are very patient with me and as what I have seen when I visit with other people as well. Ever since I started to visit this store I have spent closed to $ 2,500 in products for my kit in less than 7 months. Little by little I have been replacing other brands with MAC. Thank you for being so amazing!

I called to see if there was availability for makeup and was told to come in they have availability right now. We arrive and then are told that there is no one available to help us. We were asked if we would like to wait until the employees going on lunch break get back in thirty minutes. Seriously? Do not recommend at all.

I decided I was going to try and dress this mug up a little. So I decided to go for the Mac products, and this location is actually in a strip mall. So no hustle and bustle in the Mall. Just in and out. Yay.
Kelly greeted me and helped me pick out some shades for my skin. She was very nice and patient. Since I’ve purchased my makeup I have been in back twice and Kelly has still provided the same fantastic service. Actually all the artist were nice and seemed like family.

Great customer service! I loved how she explained different techniques for applying my make up! She wasnt in a rush and was able to match me with my correct shade! Will be back to this MAC! U guys are a great team. Thanx alot!

I had a wonderful experience today at Mac. I walked in with no appt and was helped with in a minute. Irena greeted me and I asked her to help find me lipstick to match my red dress. In doing so I also bought lip liner, pressed powder and lipgloss. Before leaving she quickly put bronzer on my cheeks without asking because she didn’t want me to look so washed out with just the powder, which asked her to put everywhere. After paying I left to go to lulu Lemon next door for 45 minutes. I kept noticing in the changing room how nice the broker made me look. I immediately went straight back to Mac after and asked for Irena. Another employee went in the back and got her for me. She was clearly on break or lunch but she didn’t hesitate to help me. She nice lady. I purchase the bronzer. I was extremely happy with Irena for giving me such a positive experience. She was extremely helpful knowing exactly what I needed without being pushy. I really appreciated that.
Maybe the bad reviews before were taken to heart and there is a new staff there now. Because everyone there was nice. Thank you Irena!

I’ve gotten my makeup done at this store on five different occasions by the same two make up artists it was the best experience ever. However I went to do my make up for the sixth time yesterday and It was a diffrent artist, the other two girls were not available so I decided to give it a go anyway. She seemed like a nice person I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I assumed she would do it just like the last two girls who spent at least ten minutes on contouring. No she barely put any concealer on and barely any foundation. She even managed to miss a spot. Once we got to «the end» I looked at the mirror and asked if she was done and she said yes and I said your gonna leave that spot like that? She didn’t even blend ?! I she looked at me like I was crazy because I pointed out how she missed a spot. I told her I looked like a ghost and she got insulted again she said that’s my tone? The last two girls didn’t have a problem not making me look like a ghostly white. She seemed offended that I didn’t like what she did. She told me how I was supposed to tell her what I wanted??? So basically I’m supposed to tell you how to do your job??? I was upset by this point. I didn’t even let her finish putting lipstick on. I went to pay and the manager asked me what was wrong and I told her how I wasn’t satisfied as I was trying to fight back the tears. She then said well did you tell her what you wanted? I showed her a picture. The last two girls had no problem what so ever giving me exactly the look I showed them. It was just overall a bad experience. I am definitely never going back.

I love coming into this store, and thinking for a minute that neon yellow eyeshadow would look great on me, like it does in on the models in their ads. Thankfully, their staff will show you what looks great, and even natural on you. Ask for Wendy, who is so sweet and helpful. She did my makeup for my high school graduation… lets just say many years ago at Nordstrom in West LA! Love that we’re both in the South bay now!

The women that work in this store were so unpleasant that I got in my car & downloaded Unilocal.Just to write this review.
I ran into the store to pick up foundation — I’ve been a loyal MAC customer for 10+ years. I spend a fortune on makeup, usually just to sit in a makeup bag somewhere bc that eyeshadow I’ll never wear looked fabulous in the store. You get it.
I walked in, the store was really busy — but as I looked around, searching for help — I realize all the other «customers» are actually MAC employees & the girls that were actually working couldn’t care that someone like me was in there looking for help. So after 10 minutes, I finally find someone to help me with a new foundation — only for her to throw 3 different shades on the counter & walk away. RUDE?! So I stand in the mirror testing the colors out on myself (I usually just use tinted moisturizer) so finally I ask another women at the register if there’s another store bc clearly everyone is to busy helping their coworkers. She asks if I can wait a few minutes & she’ll be with me. So as she finishes ringing up someone she looks at one of her coworkers & tells her she can take her now. The girl legit yells — help that girl. Clearly she’s impatient. Proceeded to stare me down & give me dirty looks. Wait. What?
Isn’t it your job based on customer service? & still I walked out spending $ 93.

I had the best experience EVER! Wendy did an amazing job. She listened to everything I wanted and exceeded my expectations. I booked an appointment in their private room since I had an event to attend that day.

I was given a recommendation by another MAC associate in another Mac store to try the mineralized foundation to see if it would help my face not break out versus the other ones that made my face break out so I walked into the store there was only one person there shopping and two associates working. When I asked the girl what her thoughts were on the mineralized foundation she kind of shrugged her shoulders and pretty much said it’s no different than all the other ones but that if I really wanted to I could try it… just made me feel like she didn’t want to help me so eventually I’m sure that my body tone showed her that I was a little bit bothered as I walked away and she started to try and talk to me about it saying she could give me samples and I could go home and try them. I let her know that I wanted to try them in the store before driving all the way back needless to say we got as far as her getting the sponges out before she left me to help 4 other people who had walked in and basically said let her know if I needed help! Seriously! Put all the stuff back and walked out and will not be attending this location again! Either get more associates to be helpful to the consumer or it should be first come first serve!

I was out of town for mother’s day, and had gave my mom an IOU in a card with a shopping trip to MAC, to buy her whatever she wanted. We went by this store today, and my mom so was excited– she wanted foundation, lipstick, and powder. My mom doesn’t buy much for herself, so I was excited too.
The store wasn’t busy. After browsing, I asked an associate named Carla to match foundation to my mom’s face– she looked slightly annoyed, but walked past us to get the foundation. My mom’s more tanned than usual, so I asked for a slightly lighter shade than her current skin tone. Carla came back with a foundation that was definitely darker, and put it on one side of my mom’s cheek. When we explained that it was darker, she seemed not to agree, but left and came back with the ‘lightest shade of foundation they carry’ (which was unnecessary), and put that on the other side of my mom’s face. Now one side was too light, and one side was too dark, and the middle of her face was in the mid-​tone. I told Carla «thank you for your help, but that’s ok». Before I could even finish my sentence, she turned around and walked off, not even offering to give my mom something to wipe her face off with.
I like MAC makeup– I think the quality is good. But I don’t think I’ll shop here again. How hard is it to be nice, cordial, and put some effort into trying to match the foundation? There’s surely a color that would work. Needless to say, we felt uncomfortable and left without a purchase.

I came in on a semi busy Friday asking if I can book an appointment for the next day and one of the girls said that the day was FULLY booked and I can still try coming in as a walk in appointment. I even asked if they were booked in the beginning of the day and they said yes.
The next day, I come in right when it opens at 10am (the store actually opened 5 minutes late more or less) and asked if I can get my makeup done. Long story short, another girl told me that I was lucky because there WASN’T a 10am appointment so they can take me into the back and charge me as a fee instead of buying $ 50 worth of product so I can get uninterrupted time. Seeing that I had a schedule to follow, I chose to pay $ 50 for appointment time.
They all seemed nice about it but it was unneeded stress on my part if I knew I could just make my appointment at 10am the day before. I’m not sure why the girl said they were fully booked when they clearly weren’t. I understand to book an appointment earlier next time, but in this situation it wouldn’t have mattered since that time slot was open anyway.
Also, Lisa did my makeup, she was awesome :) 5 stars for her.

Came here on a Sunday at 11am to get my makeup done. I showed her my dress and she did an excellent job. She was very minimally interrupted. She did a great job making sure she fixed what I wanted. I ended up buying a lipstick and lip liner after I fell in love with the one she used.
Note: there is a blow dry bar and nail salon in the shopping center across the street so u can get all your beauty needs taken care of in one stop.
Give this location a try as I had no service issues or lack of quality in the work they did.

Customer service is of no importance at this store. I came to the store this afternoon to pick up a few items and happened to be in the store for at least 10 minutes without anyone asking me if they could assist me with a purchase. I know that the makeup artist need to focus their attention on the ladies who are getting makeup applied; but providing zero customer service to those who don’t require Makeovers is unacceptable.

I’m a regular client and loyal fan of MAC Cosmetics as I purchase and use their products frequently. I’m also older, a mommy and my patience for waiting and lingering is short which leads me to believe I’m becoming a grumpy old woman who needs MAC cosmetics to keep me young (looking). With that, I have my favorites, am aware of their MAC container recycling program, know my particulars and can run in and out fairly smoothly.
PRODUCTS: I have been using MAC for years. I haven’t had a bad reaction to any of their products to date, and I’ve tried almost everything with the exception for their cleanser, toner and moisturizers. I love their Studio Fix and their Studio Fix Fluid. I have most of their make-​up brushes, and their brush cleaner is the best. I love the eyeliner gel and variety of colors for eyeshadow and lip color. In the summer, I love using their shimmers and bronzers for the face and their lip glass/​gloss for my lips. It’s always fun when you have the time and make an appointment, to get color matched or learn tips/​techniques and get done up by their artists.
SERVICE: I’ve already been color matched (once in the Summer and the other in the Winter) to know what color foundation I need to purchase when I run out or the seasons change. Because of this, I was able to walk into this particular MAC location; get what I need, recycle my 6 MAC containers, pick my colors and a lipstick; in my busy, hectic day and considering it was NYE, get back out quickly and efficiently.
They were busy but not crazed and I am always greeted and acknowledged upon entering this store. The gals behind the register were nice, professional and were able to help me right away.
Due to it’s popularity and demand for their make-​up artists time and help, I recommend making an appointment if you know you will want to spend some time with a MAC artist if it’s during peak hours (weekends and after work/​rush hour which is between 5−7pm). Otherwise, if you know what you want, and know exactly what you need, you should be able to get in and out with speed and ease.
PARKING: There is a pretty big lot for this MAC location shares it’s spot with many other popular retailers.

Awful customer service. I was told that I could exchange a lipstick if I didn’t like it. She never told me I needed a receipt. So now I go and explain it to manager and she refuses to make an exception even though it was the workers mistake.
Terrible customer service. I’d rather go to Nordstrom in the future.

This shop is hit or miss. I’ve been buying MAC for years, and so I typically know what I need and want to make it a quick trip. Usually there is someone to quickly find the things you need and ring me up.
However, a few time I’ve been in there literally just wanting to pay and have had to wait 10 minutes or more to simply finish at the cash register. In the case of my visit yesterday, I had to come back to the store because the previous day, the woman helping me gave me the wrong shade of powder. Instead of quickly exchanging it, I had to wait for the only associate in the store who was able to process a return (really, mac?) to finish 1) consulting with her customer 2) pulling all the merch she wanted, 3) taking her time sauntering to the register 4) building a customer profile and 5) again, giving tons of beauty advice. Several minutes later she got around to processing my 30 second exchange while I waited at the register the entire time — with two other store associates gossiping in background.
Just saying — if you make a mistake, you might consider trying to fix it quickly for a customer who had to make an extra trip back. But, then again — customer service just isn’t what it used to be.
