History

Established in 2011.

The Soup Bar is the brainchild of Michelle and Peter McKinney. In addition to being skilled ‘at home’ chefs, both are avid foodies with a passion for soup. Veterans of the advertising business, they saw the need for a healthy, socially conscious, quick-service alternative to traditional fast food.

Food historians tell us that the history of soup is probably as old as the history of cooking. The act of combining various ingredients in a large pot to create a nutritious, filling, easily digested, simple to make food was inevitable. This made it the perfect choice for both sedentary and traveling cultures, rich and poor, young and old, the healthy and the sick. Soup really is the original comfort food.

The Soup Bar doesn’t just serve the best soup you’ve ever tasted, but also provides an experience, and a culture that embodies the very essence of what soup is… food for the soul.
