Wash Multifamily Laundry Systems

Terrible service. Unfortunately this is the company my apartment complex uses. The machines are always breaking down and if they’re not broken completely they’re not operating efficiently. They’ll raise the prices but won’t do anything about the quality. I’m thankful I’m moving out into my own house with my own washer and dryer so I won’t have to deal with this poor excuse for a company anymore.

Wow, I wish I could give this company less than 1 star. What a piece of crap, scammers charging $ 8.00 per machine and not to mention that your machines suck. I wish I could break your machines into pieces and throw the pieces at your stores windows. You guys suck and I hope noone pays you guys a nickle moving forward.

The property management company I work for acquired an apartment complex in 2014 and the previous owner had entered into a contract with WASH through May 2018. We recently wanted to buyout the remainder of this contract and were perfectly reasonable. However, they instead decided to bully us with a legal letter in an attempt to strong-​arm us into keeping their service. No matter how this turns out, their customer service has been absolutely atrocious, shortsighted, and unacceptable, which is easily confirmed by the vast majority of their Unilocal reviews. I sincerely hope for everyone’s sake that this company goes out of business as soon as possible.

WASH was the former operator of the multifamily laundry in my apartment building of 14 years. I was glad to see their overpriced, hinky machines go. Th problem was that I had balances on my wash cards when the machines were pulled out with no warning. This was not WASH’s fault, but how they handled the refund was *terrible*.
First, it took them 6 *weeks* to get the refund envelopes to our resident manager so we could return our cards for refunds. Second, and worst of all, the refund check was for only $ 4.50 when I know I had at least $ 20 split between the cards. When I called the WASH office to complain, they told me there was nothing they could do. THEY STOLE $ 15.00 FROM ME.
If you are considering bringing WASH into your building, do so only if you want dissatisfied tenants who are constantly complaining to you about the poor service from WASH.

Just recently replaced all of the Washers and Dryers in the entire complex, however the cost of washing a load in hot water now costs you $ 2.00 Vs. the $ 1.00 in the crappy machines.
Oh well as usual the consumer pays the freight.

Nothing but bad experiences with this company. They take more money than they should and charge it back to you later if you’re on a debit card, and if you get a laundry card they make you pay a certain amount so that you’ll always have money left over on the card and never get it back.
The machines always break and take over a day to get fixed, so if you only have one laundry machine you’re screwed. Would not recommend.

I finally received a refund after 3 attempts, which I’m glad for however I will not give WASH anything higher than a 1 due to their machines poor performance (specifically their Maytag commercial dryers and washers).
There is a plethora of problems associated with both washers and dryers, and generally end up being a bigger headache than necessary. The machines are well past their service life and while they will do the bare minimum, it is suggested you find something more effective as washing and drying.
That being said, apartment managers/​companies should consider other options unless WASH introduces a newer line of machines.

Six months ago, I reported the timing of both our washer and dryer was off. We were paying for time we weren’t getting. Also made timing fabric softener impossible. Six months later and six complaints later, the price for wash was increased but the problem not fixed. We’ve been paying for a 27 minute cycle that actually lasts 15 minutes. Customer service is lazy and rude and technicians are stupid and belligerent. Next stops: Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection to get assistance getting six months of money back for me and my neighbors.

I have the laundry machines from this company in my apartment complex and they are awful. The machines constantly break and it takes them days to fix them. On top of that, they have the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with. The lady was rude to me and said she would send me a check for a couple of dollars because it took me four times to dry my clothes from the broken washing machine. She ended up sending me a laundry card after I told her multiple time that I didn’t want one because I would no longer be using their machines. This company is awful!!! And I can see from ALL of the other reviews that I’m not the only one that feels this way.

Wash laundry operates the washing equipment at my apartment complex. Unfortunately, the washing machine has been functioning poorly over the past half year. It works for 2 – 3 days but then breaks down for at least a week (always the same issue). Every time I call the customer service for a broken machine it takes almost a week for them to repair the machine. However, the machine is still broken…
1. Fix your customer service (repairs with 2 days)
2. Replace machines that are broken!

I use the ‘Wash” issued laundry card (which is purchased and reloaded from a POS device on the property.
Wash customer service is good about taking service calls and sending someone out to fix issues with the machines which do occur from time to time.
Wash customer service is good about issuing refunds and pleasant on the phone.
Machines get swapped out for new and/​or rebuilt ones every 3 – 5 years.
Our machines get used day and night; it would be nice if they were swapped out more often or if preventative maintenance occurred.
I’d give them 3 ½ stars but I’m rounding up to 4.

Purchased coin-​op washer and dryer from the Seattle, WA branch of WASH in June 2015 for an apartment building. Didn’t know I’d be dealing with El Segundo when it came to needing service on the machines. Wouldn’t be a problem if they had a decent service request process, which they don’t.
The washer stops working. I call to make a service request (get El Segundo customer service). I am told by the customer service agent that because I own these machines (vs. lease them from WASH) that I will have to wait 1 – 2 days for someone to contact me with an estimate of the repair cost. Only after approving that cost estimate will they put me on their schedule. So, making a service request really just put me on a 1 – 2 day queue to get my service scheduled! (Note to WASH: When a customer calls to make a service request, that call should end with a confirmed appointment for the service. If you have trip charges, minimum fees, etc., spell them out during that call. But the call should end with the service being scheduled.)
So 2 days later they haven’t called back. I call the service request number again (El Segundo). Now I’m told that they have a technician scheduled to come by the building that afternoon. Well guess what? No one told me. I’m not planning to be at the building that afternoon. I express my opinion of what a poor business practice it is to send a technician out on an unconfirmed appointment (Note to WASH: You are wasting your technician’s time if they arrive unexpectedly and can’t access the machines they need to service.) I am told by this second customer service agent that if I wanted to know when the appointment had been scheduled for, I had to request that when I made the initial service request! When I explained the story the first agent had told me (wait for a cost estimate, then schedule) and asked to speak to a manager, I was placed on a hold which routed me back into the general service request queue. (Note to WASH customer service agents: Don’t palm off an irate customer onto your unsuspecting co-​workers! Would you like to be blind-​sided like that?)
Only by calling the cell number of the Seattle sales person (which I only had by chance, it isn’t advertised on the WASH website), did I get a technician to come out.
WASH El Segundo, you need to take a long hard look at your service request process and make some changes.

The worst washers and dryers I have ever used. Literally right next to my apartment at UCSB but if I go to the laundry mat I can finish 10 times faster then using your broken machines.

Garbage. Still waiting for them to fix a washing machine at one of my condo associations after a week! They’re waiting on a part. lol. I’m sure I could find any part for a current model washer, dryer, or any appliance for that matter, within a day or two. Not sure if they’ve gotten too big for their britches. Better hope your association goes with a different company. Service has gone way downhill since they bought out Webb and took over our service.

Laundry equipment located within Apartment complex’s Apartment contracts for services to there tenets, They are the worst there equipment is old and wore out and broke down.
They could care less about the people they are providing service to.
There equipment is at Casa Arroyo Apartments Located in Fremont, CA the worst washer and dryers in town.

We have a guest laundry facility on our lodging property and signed up with WASH several months ago after a friend of mine recommended the company. After reading all the negative reviews here, I was hesitant at first but ultimately trusted my friend. I have to say I’m glad I did because the service has been excellent so far and I have nothing negative to say about this company.
Sure, the machines do break down but I’ve had no trouble getting repairs done quickly and professionally. The customer service ladies are always friendly and I don’t even need to call them anymore now that there’s an app available where I can send request for repair without having to talk to anyone. Most important of all, the commission is always paid on time.
Maybe I haven’t dealt with this company long enough to experience the negativity, but I’ve also had many years of dealing with various companies to know which ones are decent and which ones are not. IMHO, this is one of the better laundry companies out there in the Los Angeles area.

I tried to get these people to remove their equipment because I was told our plumbing in the building is shot this idiot Casey tried to bully me by stating there is a contract and we are going to have to do a payoff. Good luck with that! I signed No CONTRACT and do not need machines and dryers that break down every other week and then they might send someone out in a few weeks to fix the problem… I will see you people in court!!! And get your broken down machines out of here already!

I’m not really sure why I didn’t give them a 5. This company services 15 buildings (3 floors on each building) in my condo complex… I was doing laundry today and was just grateful that my machines are working 99% of the time and the card-​key system that was installed a few years ago is just great. And, the service is great. Just call or e-​mail, and they’ll take care of it. Refunds? I read the review from Sonia… just chill… in the past, I’ve had no problems, and if I do happen to lose a quarter, I don’t mind eating it… it’s not worth my time (this happened once or twice in the 13 years I’ve lived here). If I can give them a big fat 0 I totally would! I went thru almost 3 weeks of contacting this company to give me a refund, which is complete BS! I had to get a manager involved and my association of the condos that I live in in order for them to mail me out a check. Never put your credit card or debit cards thru their machines!!! BEWARE

horrible — it costs $ 1.00 to dry and it charged my card $ 15.00. i only needed to dry one shirt. now i have to take time off of work to get bank statements to prove this. if i could give this zero stars i would. never using there machines again.

This «Wash Laundry Waverider» company supplies the washer and dryer at the apartment complex I am currently living. Every time I do laundry, I get charged 2, 3, or 4 times as much as I should. I am going to attempt to call their customer service department first, but I will be reporting these as fraudulent charges to my bank if I do not see results immediately.
I did one load of laundry yesterday, which should cost $ 2.25 for the wash and $ 1.00 for the dryer; I now have THREE $ 8.00 charges in addition to the 2 legitimate ones. That’s $ 27.25 for a single load, $ 24 over the legitimate rate. I had a similar experience earlier this month, with another superfluous $ 8 charge.
It appears that this Wash Laundry Waverider company is just hoping that people do not notice all of the extra charges they are applying to credit cards used on their machines. Unfortunately, there is no option to use coins on these machines, so I am stuck using my credit card and getting swindled.

I to am fed up with this crap company. They just raised the price of the washers to $ 1.75 per load claiming with the higher cost of service being the reason. The only service here in Altadena is the guy coming to collect the money.
The (old) 1 washers & 1 dryer are for small loads and to do laundry for 4 people is very costly. I’ve complained to our landlord and Wash, but neither gives a hoot. I need to find a laundrymat close by and stop getting jacked around by these people

Worst company ever. Your services are terrible. I hope you go out of business. Your equipment has cause me so much stress and anger! Everything is cheap and breaking all the time.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would!!! These people are a damn rip off!!! I live in a community managed by The Irvine Company and many of the tenants, including myself are fed up of them over charging us! I don’t know how many times I have called this company to get a refund and then have to wait for them to sent me a check! It is quickly adding up! Again, they owe me over $ 10.00, but I am sick and tired of calling them for a refund. Management is currently working on the problem and I sure hope they get rid of this company. Not only that, the washers suck!

I’ve been using Wash for five years and I love it.
I also get the best customer service and use coins in my machine! They always come within 1 – 3 days when a machine breaks!

This company operates card operated machines in my apartment complex in Camarillo. I have written them twice regarding frequently broken down machines and have never received any response. They have not had the courtesy to provide a time frame of when the machines will be fixed or to even come out and place an inoperable sign on the machines. My next step will be to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and my apartment complex.

Our apartment building is using this company as a laundry operator. The machines are card operated and we can use debit/​credit cards to charge them. I’ve been overcharged on my cc twice in last 6 months. Twice the amount the first time, 3 times the second time. When that happens, you have to call them, email them your bank statement and then they will eventually send you another laundry card — convenient, huh??? Such a waste of time.

I’ll have to agree with most of the reviews although we have still the coin operated machines. They are old and break often and it takes at least 3 days for someone to come fix them. I have to say that when I call for repair they are nice (hence the 3 stars). Management will consider replacing the company but apparently they have not been able to find a better one. They seem to be right since I just googled it and found just one more company with worst reviews than WASH. If someone is able to find another company please post the name so we can suggest it to the leasing company and get better service all together.

Worst experience ever with dealing with laundry. I’d rather deal with coin laundry than these guys. Absolute worst.
I called several times asking them to clean the moldy and disgusting washers. They never do.

This company is terrible.
When your card wears out (which it will in a matter of months), you will lose the balance on the card and have to pay a $ 5 replacement fee. You do have the option of snail mailing your card in and waiting for them to send a new card back, or waiting around for one of their technicians to show up and give you a new one. So it will be totally fine, as long as your laundry can wait two weeks. Or if you don’t have a job and can wait around the house all day for a guy to show up and give you a laundry card.
I called the company and asked if they could transfer my balance remotely to a card I purchased in the laundry room, like any other company using electronic gift cards or debit cards would be able to do. Of course that couldn’t be done. If so, how could they gauge their customers on the price of a new card (and their leftover balance)?
I asked the customer service rep if I could send in my worn out card and be credited the balance, as well as the $ 5 fee I would have to spend in the laundry room to buy a new card so I could take care of my laundry today. Of course not, that would be fair and honest.
I asked him to talk to the technician who happened to be coming out to fix machines (which break frequently) and let him know I needed to see him about a card. Not only could he not get ahold of the guy, he couldn’t give me an estimate of when he would show up, or promise the guy could replace my card if I did manage to catch him.
Screw them.
UPDATE:
I caught the technician fixing machines, and he inexplicably gave me a card with a $ 3 balance. To replace my card with an $ 11 balance. He told me to mail in my broken card for a replacement. I’m so sick of dealing with these people.

This SoCal company has coin laundry washing machines and dryers in my apartment building in West LA.
WEB changed their name to WASH a while ago, but the old machines are still the same.
They break down every 2 – 3 months. Luckily, I’ve been able to request refunds when the broken machines eat my quarters.
To request machine repair and/​or a refund, call the 1 – 800 number and be sure to provide the customer service rep with the broken machine’s ID number, your name and address.
They’ll either send you a refund check in the mail or the service repair person will drop off refund coins to you in person when visiting to repair the machine.

I have never ever left bad reviews to ANY place! And this is my first. Terrible and unprofessional company! They service laundry machines at the apartment complex where I live. I have to call every few weeks to ask them to send someone to take quarters out of machines so we can actually use it. And it takes them 5 days to do that after you call them. Just terrible, irresponsible and unprofessional. If I could give them 0 stars, it would be perfect evaluation. Save your time, money and nerves and find a better company to deal with. Sincere advice.

I’ve been dealing with this company for three weeks now. Our laundry got stuck in one of their machines and it’s been a NIGHTMARE since. It took them FOUR DAYS for them to come get it out (outside the quoted window of 1 – 3 days), then the technician put them back in the wash and LEFT THEM.
When I went to retrieve my clothes, I found bugs nestled soundly in the wet mound that had been moved to the top of the washer for every passer-​by to see (and steal if they felt so inclined) and the bleach residue on top of the machine ruined some of my clothing.
When I called about the damage on a Thursday, they said they would have a tech out in 1 – 3 days to assess it. They came at 9am on WEDNESDAY (6 days later) after announcing their intent to arrive via voicemail only one hour prior. My husband works nights so we don’t get up until 10am, which is why I asked for them to give me notice. Apparently one hour notice at 8am seemed sufficient to them.
Mind you, I AM SEEKING COMPENSATION FOR THEIR NEGLIGENCE AND WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW TO REFLECT HOW THEY RESPOND. I will gladly stand corrected if they decide to stand up and right their wrong.
However, as a potential future customer, you should be advised that they have repeatedly quoted windows of time that they have almost no intention of meeting. Basically, this company is perfect for someone who has no life and enjoys sitting alone at home, petting their cat and waiting for a service tech to show up.
The only thing they have been consistent about is the right hand having no clue what the left is doing… and telling me one thing then doing another.
So if you just love the smell of mildew on your clothes and dealing with people who have absolutely no regard for your time, WASH is the company for you!
PS — I’d be willing to wager that the positive reviews on here were either written by someone at the company or at the prompting of someone from the company. WASH has demonstrated absolutely ZERO integrity so far… so if something did go right in the area of customer service, I think it’s safe to assume it was a fluke.

I agree with the previous two reviews that solely occupy this company’s review section on Unilocal.WASH is just insufferable and agonizing to deal with. Tiny machines that don’t do well washing your clothes. No card system for payment. Horrendous customer service when machines break down, for example, leaving our complex without a working washer for nearly two months because it constantly breaks and they routinely LIE about repairing/​replacing it. And on top of that, they recently raised their prices. [SMH]
Obviously, I highly do NOT recommend using this WASH company. We’re desperately trying to yank these clowns and switch to their highest-​rated competitor, whoever that may be. Probably *anyone* else is a big step up. On that note, any recommendations?
