Evergreen Farms Christmas Trees

Nice family run farm. We went to cut our own down, and thought we’d give this one a try this year. We’ve usually gone to the Elgin Christmas tree farm. This one doesn’t charge admission but the trees are more expensive per foot. It was pretty hard to find a 6ft plus, nice tree. The selection is definitely better at the other farm. There are cute things to do for kids, but everything seems a little less safe for kids than at Elgin farm. The trailer ride is just a flat bed, and there is a goat that runs loose that will charge and hit children. It rammed my 7 yr old in the back and knocked him to the ground pretty hard. I was more bothered that the staff seemed unconcerned, like he does it all the time. Nothing a higher fence wouldn’t fix.

Had a great time cutting down our own tree with our dogs. There was a little confusion about where to get the saws and poles to see height of trees but everyone was helpful getting the tree ready to go! Lots of little activities for the kids as well!

My family loves Evergreen Farms! We’ve been going to Evergreen Farms for the past 11 years. They provide a home quality feel to their farm that the others don’t. They haven’t gotten too big and I hope they stay just the way they have always been.

Very under whelming. No $ to get in, so ‘everything’ cost $$.

I was looking for the pick your own patch but didnt seem to find it — perhaps it wasnt there this year or I completely missed it.
We were in town a couple weekends back and I was determined to go to a decent pumpkin patch so we decided to take a short detour and check this place out.
The farm is really a cute little place and their staff like others mentioned were very helpful and friendly. Only thing is if you dont have any kiddies theres really not much to do.
They have a nice assortment of pre-​picked pumpkins and lots of activities for the kids that generally cost around $ 2 each which I thought was pretty reasonable. I really wish we could have done the pumpkin search through the trees or did the hayride but considering I’m 6 months pregnant I decided it probably wasnt a very good idea. Instead, we all did the pumpkin launch where we got to fling baby pumpkins in the field.
Overall — its a nice relaxing place to visit and a blast to bring the kids to.

I’m rating for their Pumpkin Patch, as we haven’t been for the trees. They had a good selection of pre-​picked pumpkins for a good price, but their «Pick Your Own» pumpkins are crazy awesome!
They have a smallish field down the hill from their attractions and food. We were there later in the season, so they were kind of picked over, but it made it a lot more fun to go hunting for that perfect pumpkin.
I will say that you shouldn’t expect to find the perfect round, all orange pumpkin in their field (you can get that in their pre-​picked selection). What you will find are extremely unique, colorful, fun pumpkins unlike anything your neighbors will have. You can see the photos for the ones we got.
The pumpkins themselves and traipsing through the field are what really makes the experience, but what made it 5-​star is the price. We got three amazing looking pumpkins for about $ 12. If you got these pumpkins at Whole Foods or a pumpkin patch in town they would easily be $ 15 each.
They also have a ton of attractions for kids like finger painting, a maze and pumpkin launcher. The staff was clearly all family and local kids and it just feels right to get your pumpkin here.
It’s easily worth the drive out if you’re in Austin, so head out there next season and get your pumpkin on!

So every year I take my kids out to the Elgin Pumpkin Patch. I normally go to the one at the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm. But budget problems kept it from happening this year. We were just about to not go this year, when my husband found out about this place. We drove out there and we found out that it was free admission. The road is pretty bumpy and I was a little apprehensive about it, but it was worth the trip. You pay for tickets for the activities that are offered at the place and there are so much to choose from. You have the pumpkin launch, pumpkin hunt, hayride, etc. The cost about one ticket each and each ticket was $ 2 a piece. My kids had a blast and there were even things you could do that didn’t cost any tickets. Like a bean bag toss, etc. It was well worth the trip and a beautiful farm. I think I will be coming to this pumpkin patch next year!
