Smithotics offer treatment for all levels of amputations and congenital birth defects for both upper and lower extremities. We design and fit from very simple low activity levels devices to very complex myoelectric muscle operated systems. Our staff is highly experienced in a variety of modern and conventional suspension methods. Our facility also offer minor to complex restorations on qualified custom orthotic and prosthetic devices. Smithotics specializes in Prosthetic limb loss replacement care and advancement, diabetic wound and amputation prevention care, Scoliosis, Neuromuscular and accomodative spinal bracing, ankle foot orthosis. Smithotics has trained individuals for the Walkaid system, micorprocessor knee units, and we can also provide the I-​limb technologies to individuals that qualify.

History

Established in 2012.

Smithotics is a new Orthotic and Prosthetic Care facility. The founder of Smithotics LLC Johan Smith, is an Illinois licensed and American Board Certified Orthotist/​Prosthetist. Johan has extensive education, experience and intuition that drove him to open a new door for the Orthotic and Prosthetic care industry. A part of Smithotics’ mission is to serve the patient with dignity, respect and the best available care solutions. Smithotics is commited in providing the most optimum fit, function and appearance of all finished products delivered to patients.

Johan S.

Business Owner

Owner Johan Smith is an Illinois licensed and American Board Certified Orthotist/​Prosthetist. Johan graduated in 1997 with a degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Pretoria Technicon University in South Africa. He specializes in helping patients overcome biomechanical dysfunctions affecting the feet and legs, hands and wrists, neck and spine. He helps restore independence and self-​confidence to adults and children who have suffered a limb loss due to amputation, injury or congenital birth abnormality.
