I went to Tuffy in Elgin, IL to get my ball joint fixed and tire alignment. They definitely charged too much, but I needed it to be done, so I went ahead with it. When I drove away, I had to drive right back because it was actually WORSE than when I brought it in! They checked it out and decided it was the new part that was bad. I made another appointment and they fixed it again. They said I would not need another tire alignment. So I overpaid for all the hassle and it still pulls to the right just a little. The service was very unfriendly. I will not go back.

I have used Tuffy’s in Elgin several times and have to say their pricing, honesty and customer service is top notch. Troy and Tom are great to work with and the only place I will go for service on either car.

Twice I have attempted to have work completed on my truck at Tuffy in Elgin. Both times, I was told that they do not have any open appointments for days. This past time, I called on a Friday to make sure I could stop in and get an oil change and I was told they did not have time and I would have to wait until Monday afternoon, and even then I was told «maybe». It was almost as if the guy was laughing at me for even asking to have an oil change done without calling days ahead.
Who knows, maybe this place is amazing and there should be a waiting list to get in but I’m going to pass. After two attempts, it’s not worth my time and hassle.

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot. It’s needed brakes, a battery, a radiator and an AC compressor. Thanks to Troy and his team I still have some money in my wallet.
