Tucked away in an upstate apple orchard, Sloop Brewery and Tap room is a great place to stop in, grab some beer and socialize. Adam and Justin are awesome, and always have something new to offer. Their brews are amazing regardless of your specific preferences. As a fan of IPAs and tart Sours, Sloop never fails to impress. I’m a huge fan and often find myself ordering Sloop at many other local establishments. The tap room is rustic and inviting, with farm stand items for sale as well. I bought eggs, honey, soap, and cider doughnuts. Many wooden tables and chairs are around for putting down your things while you order flights, pints, or growlers at very fair prices. Sloop offers merchandise too, and I picked up a sweatshirt and t-shirt to show my support for local beer! Justin offers some food too, so feel free to try a sausage from Daughter’s Café in Red Hook in case you’re hungry. The Brewery is located adjacent to the seating area with a window on the wall to look inside. They have a great setup ready for more production! The beer is phenomenal. I recommend the Red C if you’re an IPA fan. I also love their Confliction hoppy sour. This sour smells hoppy, drinks tart, and tastes like grapefruit. So fun. If you’re new to sours, definitely try the Sauer Peach. It’s a tart beer of course but very smooth and won’t sit on your tongue. My all time favorite is the Fresh Hop beer. It’s made with local hops and malt from Dutchess County. Sloop takes credit cards and is priced fairly, so don’t hesitate to stop in! Also, I found out they are now canning some of their beer too.

Found this brewery while taking a drive last Sunday. Lovely young woman waited on us and explained the various craft beers. We did a tasting and short tour. Very nice craft beers. We took a small growler home. We will certainly go back again with our adult children as they enjoy craft beers and it is not too far from home.

As good as it gets! Delicious beer. A true variety. Makes the ‘flight’ really worth it. And the setting is perfect. Renovated barn on an old farm. Get the pretzel too. It’s great.

A wonderful brew house on a beautiful farm. This place is a true find. Since its opening, I’ve been back on an almost daily basis to try their many delicious flavors of brew. Always bringing at least one growler home with me. The owners/founders, Justin and Adam are big on giving tastings, so you can try as many flavors as you want before you choose. Stop by if you’re looking to drink some great beer in an awesome Hudson Valley setting.
