Elk Grove Shell

The main reason we come here often is it is close to our house, easy access. As far as price we do not pay attention to price so much I have to drive regardless.

I had to take my car here for a STAR smog because it was the closest to my house that was open on the weekend. This shop is connected to the Shel gas station. I went in on a Saturday and said that I had an appointment. He took in my car and said that it would be done in about 45 minutes. Since the shop is connected to the gas station, there wasn’t a real waiting room area. There was a bench outside that was considered as their «waiting room». I was going to go to the library across the street, but it wasn’t open, so I just sat on the bench. Joseph called me in after 30 minutes and, unfortunately, my baby didn’t pass smog. He told me what was wrong and said that he could get it done within a few days. I decided to have them search for the necessary parts and just call me back when they found them.
They called me back and said that they had the parts. I took it back in on Wednesday to get it fixed 7:30am. However, since their guys won’t be able to start looking at my car until 8am and it would take a few hours, I had to go elsewhere. Since the library wouldn’t be opened until 10am, I decided to walk to Denny’s for breakfast. He told me it would take about 3 – 4 hours, and I did actually wait 4 hours until I got my car back. I guess they had to wait for Audi to send over a part that they had asked for earlier, but didn’t receive yet.
Overall, my experience here was great! The guys were super friendly and professional. The only thing that sucked was that they don’t have a waiting room. If you’re planning to get something done here that will take a long time, either have someone pick you up and just come back when it’s ready, or you have to walk somewhere. The library doesn’t open until 10am. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to get a STAR smog, or another service, done. I’ll be coming back. I’ll just be more prepared to wait outside, or have someone pick me up.

The people here are always very professional and always very personal and friendly. Dave will always let you know if there is a problem. My mom always went here they would always fill her car for her and pampered her to the max. I always trust Dave and his staff to take good care of my van.

Akway use shell for light service. Been a customer for 25 years. My 80 year old dad took in his Honda for the check engine light and they told us it was the oil change light and did a service. Could have ripped him off, but they didn’t. David filed up my tires at the pump. I get all my gas there. Love the service.

Moved here from Nebraska with our new truck, took to get it Smog checked. Staff was quick and super professional. They were so nice!!! Great people, great service!

well they over heated my car they let the car idle and sit there for 45 min before they started the test i did not here them put a fan in front like there supposed too. did the test out of order by the time they ran it on the dyno radiator had blown and did not even run it for a minute on the dyno and still charged me for a test the aborted.
i dont understabnd why they charged me for a test they did not perform???
the only reason im doing a negative review is because the service writer acted like he did not care about what happened did not even talk to me intill i asked what happened and if i was going to be charged for something they did not even do.

Car needed an idler pulley replaced. They charged me 75 dollars for the part a part they order from Napa Auto Parts when at NAPAs online site they charge 30 for the same part, same part #.
Labor is very high at 120.
Shady business practice. If there’s a fee for bringing it over or any kind of fee it should’ve been included in the invoice.
I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Brought my car in for an oil change and did just that. No overselling and no talking down to you. They guys there are really courteous. Highly recommended.

Was given a quote for $ 2,300 to fix my car something didn’t sou d right so I took my car to another shop and they fixed it for $ 627 bucks, I will never take another car to the EG Shell again.

I have stopped by this gas station several times to visit my sister in Elk Grove and the staff is friendly except for Mark who seems to look at woman funny. I stopped taking my daughters there in fear of who he would look at them. Perv on the loose ladies!

As far as has stations go– very clean inside — service is always friendly. They do basic maintenance on cars as well and maybe more. I know they do smog inspections and tires and some other things — so check them out.
I always use Shell for my cars because I believe that their gas is a little better then most.
I use this one because it is convenient to my house and provide a clean, friendly and safe environment to fill up.

This gas station is over priced. They advertise the CASH and CREDIT prices on their signs but what they don’t tell you is that using your debit card does not constitute paying the cash price. A few other gas stations in the area charge the cash price when you pay with your debit card, Shell is NOT one of them. I inquired with the gas station attendant as to why this is the case. He informed me that it’s at the owners discretion and the owner of Shell chooses to rip their customers off.
Conveniently located but inconveniently priced.

The guys here are the best, so trustworthy and they always find the problem and get it fixed fast!

Its a gas station.
It has gas and food. The benefit of this station is it is at the U-​turn to get back on the 99 after you have stopped for Chick-​fil-​a.
All in all I recommend this place if it is on the right when you need gas.

Very convenient and clean location near downtown Elk Grove, but that alone isn’t why I am giving out five stars. After parking at the pump and preparing to pay, a young man in a Shell shirt came out and insisted on washing my windshield! I’m not even remotely old enough to remember when something like this was commonplace at gas stations, but it was a nice touch. I’m not sure if this was something regular, but it definitely will make me think of coming here next time that I need gas in Elk Grove.

Nice and clean gas station. Located in a good area where cars can easily enter. They even have the propel fuel here.
