Laguna Day Spa and Salon

I had a mani, pedi & massage scheduled. They did the mani & pedi at once for their convenience. Then, they told me to come back in about 45 minutes for a massage. That’s ridiculous.
Why would I come back and waste my time when I wanted everything done together? I would say don’t go to this place if you want good customer service. I feel they don’t value their customer’s time.

Hannah (and staff) very friendly and she took her time to color my hair. Gave a nice head massage during the shampooing process and very reasonable price. I will return for sure!

I came to get a mani/​pedi on a whim after lunch at Chipotle. I got my mani/​pedi done here by Cathy. It was extremely quiet with only one other customer when I came in. Although Cathy was relatively thorough with the pedicure and manicure, it was quite obvious that she didn’t really want to be there. While getting my services done, she did not so much as crack or smile or say hi and introduce herself, let alone even attempt to converse. I’m not much of a talker myself, but it felt so awkward that *I* was racking my brain and asking her questions to try to make it less quiet and uncomfortable! But when your attempts at conversing are met with single-​worded responses and no eye contact, you learn to just stop trying. I ended up chatting more with the one other customer next to me during my manicure.
I did, however, finally get a smile and learned her name at the VERY END of the service (aka when it came time for me to pay and tip). Despite the unwelcoming atmosphere, I can’t say she did a bad job on the manicure/​pedicure itself, hence the «average» 3 stars. Nonetheless, these ladies work long and hard hours, so don’t forget to tip!
On a side note, you should probably bring your own polish when you visit this place, just in case. They had a REALLY small selection of nail polishes (at least from where I was directed to choose a color)

I went in yesterday 8÷14÷15 for a gel mani and color change on my toes. It was a very slow early afternoon. I had this young middle eastern girl for my tech, she was very nice but the work was horrible! I did white with gold glitter accent nails. Well ill let’s the pictures speak for themselves and since I’m tan and the polish is white you can really see how sloppy it is. My bf thought I painted them myself to be thrifty, smh what a waste of $ 40. It took her close to an he to complete this horrible job. I am currently in the living re painting my toe nails and filing my nails to the shape I asked for. I also bought some gold glitter nail polish for my accent nails so that they actually and not look cloudy. I will not be going back.

Just got a beautiful pedicure and wonderful service! Completely relaxed and the staff was super welcoming and open! Definitely coming back!

I have been going to Kim for over 5yrs. I have always been treated kindly and she has always done a fantastic job. I have a sneaky suspension that most of the reviews on this sight are written by disgruntled ex employees. It’s a shame that Laguna Day Spa and Kim are falsely accused of their unprofessional services. I will continue to be a faithful client and have Kim take care of my beauty needs. Not to worry Kim these nobodies will soon find someone else to HATE on!!! love you and your staff. Tracy

I’LL NEVER GO BACK. I’ve been to this salon several times for hair cuts and twice for color. At first I was happy, but the last couple times I went they had different stylists and I was less impressed with each visit.
Last Visit: Kim, who I believe is the owner colored my hair about 2 or 3 months ago. I had booked with Lien, but they double booked my time and gave my appointment to the other person, even though I arrived first. I should have walked out at this point, but I really wanted an ombré hair style.
So I showed her a very clear photo of what I had wanted — there was somewhat of a language barrier but after showing her the photo, I thought she understood. I wanted ombré — dark brown roots and light brown ends. Well she stared to put bleach on my whole head but I had trust (mistake) that she was a professional who knew what she was doing and this was part of the process. 2 hours later, my whole head was orange and she starts blow drying it. I asked her if she was done and she said yes!
I was so upset! I could have bleached my whole head an ugly shade of orange myself! Turns out, she thought I wanted my whole head the lighter shade I had showed her in the ombré pic.
She still charged me full price and gave me a ¾ empty bottle of serum to try and make up for the worst coloring ever!
3 months later, my hair won’t hold color after she bleached it all.
Again, i’ll never go back.

I received a gift card for a manicure and a pedicure combo. I called ahead and made an appointment for early Monday morning. As I walked in I was greeted by a lady at the counter and she directed me to the area I needed to be.
I sat down on one of those massage chairs and I was fully relaxed! The lady soaked my feet and got right to work! She did her magic and even massaged my feet. My feet is now nice and soft and pretty… ready for that SUNSHINE!!!
We moved over for the manicure station and she did her magic! My nails are now oooooh so PRETTY! I opted for an upgrade to the gel so that it would last longer.
I noticed they did hair, wax, and massage!!!
I asked if she had time for an eyebrow wax and she said YES! Awesome news because I didn’t want to make another trip.
I ended up staying for a nice one hour massage! Woo Hoo! I scored and of course they scored on up selling! Anyhow… it was a win/​win! For a petite lady… she worked out all my stress nots!
Overall, the people were very nice and made me feel right at home! The place was clean with modern décor. Bathroom was clean. They offered coffee or water which was very nice. I’ll come back…

Was saddened by the decline in professional behavior in which Kim has resorted to treating her staff. To the point in which I can no longer continue to do business there after many years.
Degrading and insulting the staff in front of the clientele is very inappropriate. As well as talking down about the clientele when they leave.
The staff make the business and should be treated with more respect.

This place is truly awful. The woman at the front desk, who appears to be the owner or manager in charge, is extremely rude, unprofessional and unpleasant. She doesn’t speak English that well, which would not be a problem if she made up for it with some basic courtesy, but she doesn’t. As soon as you walk into her shop, you find yourself with a middle-​aged woman barking at you in broken English and bad attitude.
I came here for a hair appointment a while back and checked in at the front desk. The owner asked me to sit down and wait. After 15 minutes, I asked her how much longer the wait would be, and she was like, who the hell are you? Apparently, she had completely forgotten about me, and my hairstylist, whom I had never met before, had been sitting there playing with her phone and had been ready for me for about 13 minutes.
Usually, when salons make mistakes like that, they apologize profusely to the customer and everybody moves on. In this case, the owner started barking at me for her own mistake. There was no apology and lots of bad attitude.
The hairstylist did apologize on the owner’s behalf. She was fine and she actually did speak English. Her problem was that she did not color my hair properly and my roots ended up being of a different shade than the rest of my hair.
My hairstylist also failed to tell me that blow drying my hair would cost an extra $ 10. The owner at the front desk did not tell me about the extra fee either when I asked her on the phone about the cost of the service.
When I questioned the extra charge, the owner started barking at me again. Look, $ 10 is not a big deal but customers just deserve to be treated with more respect than this place accords them.
Elk Grove clearly is not a very happening town and it’s not known for the quality of the salons, but it’s basic business courtesy to tell customers when you plan to charge more than the price you quoted them. Clearly, they’re too unprofessional to do that here.
I immediately canceled a pedicure and eyebrow waxing appointment that I had made for next weekend at this place. I would’ve gladly used it as a one-​stop shop for my nail, hair, face and massage appointments, but this place is a truly low-​class. As I told the owner at the front desk, this was my first time at the salon and it was definitely my last.

So today was the second time we have been to this salon. Kim cut my daughter’s hair (5 years old) and it is such a cute style! The first time I only wanted a «normal» kids haircut –whatever that is– lol, and Kim convinced me to let her do a little layer for my daughter in the front… Sooo cute! So of course my daughter is super excited to go with mommy and get her special hair cut again… Did not disappoint! Thank you Kim! She was so happy with it and it only cost me $ 15, so of course I gave $ 20. So worth it!
They were pretty busy but it was a Saturday and they still fit me in when I called earlier in the same day. The first time we went must’ve been on a weekday cuz we got the serious extra attention since she had the extra time. :) totally made my daughter feel like a little princess!

I have been going to Kim for years and absolutely LOVE her!!! My hair is very hard to cut and style because it is very fine. My hair and color has never looked better!!! I can’t recommend her enough!!! I have also had nail services and waxing done at her salon. The whole salon is so nice and so good at everything they do.

Made an appointment, arrived on time. They assigned a young lady to cut my hair. She showed annoyance and didn’t want to do a cut at that time. She rushed the hair cut in 10 minutes. No layering, no thinning of the sides. No styling at all. It physically hurt the whole time, not much scissor work, just crude razor work. My first and last time here.
TL;DR Horrible attitude and ugly styling for paying customers.

Eva is the best colorist around! She fixed my hair today after my friend jacked it up and made me look ratchet!
I loveeeee my hair after she did my color correction and blonde highlights!

I went in somewhat unsure of what I wanted. I just knew I needed a change! After talking to Delaina she helped me figure out what to do! She spent over three hours with me and really took her time to make sure I liked the results. Loved her!

I came here with by sister to get our haircuts from lien. We called, made an appt for two with ease, no problem.
I’ve had my share of stylist but i have to say i am very satisfied with my experience here yesterday.
My sister was going from long hair to an asymmetrical face length haircut and i was getting a trim. Lien listened, chimed in to make sure my sister knew the work it takes to style her cut and worked her magic.
The length and style that my sister and i asked for was right. lien; i think i found my knew stylist ;)
Plus, the cuts were only $ 20 without shampoo and styling!

I’ve been coming to Lien for color and cuts for about a year now. Before that, I was going to different salons in search of a great hair stylist. I am very high maintenance when it comes to my hair. If I’m going to spend a lot of money, it better be worth it right? I know I’m always in good hands when Lien does my hair. She makes sure it’s what I want or as close as it can possibly get. I change the color of my hair every few months which makes it a bit difficult to execute those changes.
Overall, I’m giving this salon 5 stars because of my great experiences here. Everyone is professional and friendly. I will be recommending my friends to this salon! :)

I came here recently with a bridal party to get pampered the day before the wedding.
I was the first to arrive and they let me pick out the colors that I wanted and I opted to sit and wait for the rest of my party to arrive before I started anything.
I got a french pedicure and glitter tips gel manicure.
They have four chairs for pedicures so most of the party go to sit together (one girl came late and had to get her nails done first by herself, but no big). The staff were very entertaining and playful and didn’t mind our loud nature and obnoxious jokes!
The owner is probably the nicest person I’ve ever met. She’s so funa nd energetic and really runs her business well.
Prices are extremely fair and the environment is clean and bright.
Always a pleasure coming here.
