Wow, wasted $ 50 on horrible food. Would have been happier with a burger. Please don’t waste your money here. It’s pricey and you get small portions. Not worth it!

The grilled pork summer roll is yummy. I like the rice noodle dishes. My daughter goes for the rice dishes, and my husband like phở or the Chinese menu. We always get good quality food, and the people who run the place are friendly and efficient. We do to go, so I can’t comment on the service for sit down.

This place is at a good location. However, their quality of food and service are horrible. The phở was bland… it definitely needs more favor. The tables were not clean and it was sticky… I had to clean it myself. There are several good phở places in Sacramento and this is not one place to come to too.

The food here was disgusting, flavorless, and soggy. We ordered phở, bun bo hue, and 2 avocado shakes. It was extremely disappointing and a waste of money. Came here to eat and one of the server(I forgot his name) was really rude. He was slow and loud. I asked him multiple times to refill my water… After the 4th time he finally did. Plus my avocado shake taste water down. Never coming back here ever again. Horrible service and nasty food. I do not recommend this place. If you live in this area, I suggest you drive down to Phở Le for better service and food quality.

A coworker showed me this place a month or so ago. It’s great, but I am a white guy that’s never been to Vietnam before. So as far as I know it’s the real deal. I get the #1 every time, good stuff. Although, they could add more meat it the dish, when I asked for extra meat they said it would cost 5 bucks(on a $ 7.5 dish) no thanks. So I’m knocking a star off for that reason alone. Wait staff know what we want, very friendly. I’ve probably ate here 10 times in the last month. Thank you to the owner, I hope you’re shop is prosperous, and you are in business until you know longer want to be.

Service was decent and food was ok. EggRoll taste good but little over done. Phở soup was fine, I thought taste was not bad mom did not like. As for the beef in the soup were not to my liking.

Viet Hoa seems to be a lunch time favorite. Maybe it’s due to their convenient location or reasonable prices. The food is OK and their menu options are far from limited. I usually order the house special phở(#1) or beef over vermicelli with salad and find both items to be delicious. It isn’t spicy or greasy as I’ve seen in other restaurants. They also make fresh and real deal — not the powdered stuff — mango and avocado shakes with boba. Every time I’ve eaten here, there’s always a table with a large group of people. They’re clearly doing something right! 3-stars for their simplicity and great customer service.

Stopped by for dinner with my wife. We both got the phở, she had the thin raw beef and I had the chicken. The service was fine, the phở was delicious. Large portions, great taste and very affordable. I would recommend visiting this place for a great meal.

I usually come here because the staff is friendly and it’s one of the only phở restaurants in Laguna. Their phở tai is decent and they give a pretty good amount of the rare steak in it. Their broth is hit or miss but you can usually fix it with some hoisin sauce and sriracha.

I want phở. Too lazy to drive to Phở Le, which makes me certainly too lazy to drive to any place in Little Saigon. Okay, I’ll just come here. Broth is hit or miss. When it’s nice and flavorful, it’s wonderful. Sometimes it’s bland, and that’s sad. Srirracha is a cop-out remedy, but it works. Vermicelli is also good, I’ve had BBQ pork only so far, no complaints. Delicious spring and summer rolls. Apparently their banh xeo is good, so I’ll order that next time. I haven’t ordered their Chinese food yet, I always try remembering too, but get easily distracted by vermicelli and phở. Go figure. Service, like broth, is hit or miss. But mostly, it’s a hit. Plenty of parking. I still come here because: location, location, location.

Best Asian restaurant in Elk Grove. If you’re into Asian food, you got to try this place. Just order #21 on the menu. It’s their best dish!

Last time I come here. The meat in my vermicelli was like jerky. We decided to try another entrée since there usually isn’t enough meat in the dish. We got the Mongolian beef and that was the grossest thing I’ve ever had. It was served on top of some rice sticks that were stale as heck. I complained and she tried to say that’s how those were… Mayb that’s how they eat em. I didn’t ask to have it removed from our bill but they should have since we barely touched it. So she basically got a $ 10.82 tip and lost our business. Service good BUT the quality was horrible.

I used to come to this restaurant a lot and there was no doubt in my mind where we would go on date nights for Vietnamese food but over the years, the portions have been getting smaller and smaller. The food is good, but I definitely don’t think it is worth the price. Ever since Phở Le opened up 5 minutes away, it seems like they have had a hard time with the competition; although I am guilty of switching over to Phở Le. It’s a shame they’ve hiked up prices and decreased portion size because every time I drive by, it seems pretty dead inside. Their customer service is excellent though and the owners are always extremely nice and friendly.

Went to try it out since family wanted something to eat at home so I ordered 5 dishes, walnut shrimp, pork ribs. to go. I didn’t bother to check them out at the store. came home to small portions on every box. 60 $ was not worth what I ordered. never coming back here. I’m sure they gave little portions since it was ordered to go. FYI, food didn’t taste that great or my mood was just ruined but I’ll definitely not come back.

First and foremost, I just want to say that the hospitality was present. Our waiter was a happy-go-lucky guy who was beyond welcoming and was very eager to serve. The food? As my two-star rating would imply — ehh, I’ve had better. It wasn’t the worst, but let’s just say that if I were to search the definition of bland food, I would have no trouble finding it here. Combination Plate #1($ 8.95) — Sweet & Sour Chicken, Beef w/Broccoli, Fried Rice, Egg Roll. I’m not going to dissect my meal and thump about the negatives, rather I’ll merely state its dullness. Don’t get me wrong, I still finished the whole plate; I was hungry and I’m far from a picky eater. The best way to describe it would be like the taste you’d expect after reheating some leftovers in the microwave — plain, flat, almost flavorless, but still edible… I might come back, try a different option, hope for the same great service. Highly unlikely, but as Rollins would say, «Pizza makes me think that anything is possible.» .yup

I’ve been coming here frequently since they opened! Love how crispy their egg rolls and Banh Xeo are! Bun thit nuong is so refreshing. As for the phở, The broth is salty and does it justice, but I like my moms better.(I judge phở mostly from broth.) Just wish they had brisket for my bf. Beef stew is a noodle soup. Wish they also had the kind that you dip with a loaf of bread. The staff are always nice too!

I came here today out of convenience and because a fellow Unilocal Elite said it was 5 stars. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing… I don’t usually post reviews like this, but I’m sick today and needed some Wor Won Ton soup for my sore throat. I normally would order from Macau Café on Land Park Drive, but I was at Sutter Health Urgent Care on Laguna, so this was on my way home. I actually order two orders so I would have something to eat tomorrow. Big mistake. For $ 8.50(x2) I got the worst Wor Won Ton ever! The vegetables consisted of bok choy, baby corn, carrots, broccoli and cilantro. Some of the veggies were not fresh looking as they had old brown parts on the edges. And there were tons of pieces of broccoli«trunks» that tells me that this is were they use the scraps of broccoli that isn’t used in other dishes. Not that this is bad, but anyone would make the same note. The meat was chicken thighs and two measly shrimp only! Not even prawns, measly shrimp, that tasted old and had a hard texture to the bite. There was an okay amount of chicken because there was no fish or squid or BBQ pork. Now the worst part… lol The won ton is what makes this dish right? Take a look at my photo of the won ton dumpling. It’s measly as well! How does this dish constitute a price of $ 8.50!!! The taste was herby and chewy from the noodles. I couldn’t tell you what was inside because when you buy into it, there’s nothing that resembles pork or shrimp in there. Maybe pork paste or shrimp paste, but really!!! Fix this immediately or you might as well take it off the menu!!! Simply NOT Wonderful!!!

I’ve been coming to Viet Hoa ever since I moved to Elk Grove when I was little. I think it might’ve been my first introduction to Vietnamese food — back when I thought it was pronounced«Viet-manese» haha. My boyfriend isn’t too fond of phở so we don’t find ourselves at Vietnamese restaurants very often. He went to work today, so I took the opportunity to grab lunch for myself at a place he wouldn’t normally choose. I originally came with the intent of ordering spring rolls. I ended up going with an order of summer rolls(pork instead of shrimp) and vermicelli plate #28, which is charbroiled pork with rice noodles, bean sprouts, cucumber, and lettuce. I used to order #28 all the time. As I was eating my lunch, I realized #28 is basically a deconstructed version of a summer roll haha. Either way, it was delicious! The staff was very kind and efficient, and the food came out very fast. I felt like I had a very fulfilling meal, without feeling too full or greasy afterward. I will be back!

This place is a hit or miss for most people, depending on what you order. For me, I’ve been a customer for many many years now. I learned not to try anything else on the menu and stick with what I know, which is the grilled pork and shrimp vermicelli with egg rolls on the side. I’ve brought friends here in the past who ordered phở noodles and didn’t like it much. I always got my usual and to this date it’s still one of the greatest vermicelli plates I’ve ever had. While people may love getting their moneys worth and having a huge bowl, me on the other hand prefers a serving that is just enough to satisfy my hunger but not force me to pack to-go. That’s the serving size of this place(I would say it’s medium). The grilled pork is sooooo good. I’m not much of a fan of fat, but I don’t want my pork to be super lean either. The pork here has a balance of both fat and meat. The shrimp is grilled deliciously. I really like the grilled onions that they serve here too. Most importantly, the egg rolls are to-die for. The egg rolls are wrapped with rice paper skins, not with spring roll skins like traditional places do it. The gives the egg rolls more of a chewy, yet still crispy, texture. Overall, I don’t think I’ll ever stop coming here for my vermicelli fix unless the quality dramatically drops. The quality is worth the price you’re paying for and you won’t regret it!

I’ve always felt that Viet Hoa is on the 3-star list, just because, historically, the phở broth had been flavorless and they didn’t use much meat. That opinion was birthed roughly five years ago and it’s time to change it. Viet Hoa is one of only two conveniently-located Vietnamese restaurants on the Laguna side of Elk Grove. Phở Le and Phở Lotus are much, much too far to go for an hour-long lunch, so I only have Phở Huy Hoang and Viet Hoa to choose from and I always choose Viet Hoa. They have stepped up their game with the phở broth which has way more flavor than it used to. They still don’t put a TON of meat in the phở, but I find myself never being disappointed by the phở I order, so I have no reason to give them three stars. Four just because it isn’t OMGFANTASTIC. It’s just plain satisfying.
