History
Established in 1985.
The Ken Ulansey Ensemble involves musical friendships going back several decades. Band members have played with everyone from Patti Labelle to the Philadelphia Orchestra. Through years of playing every kind of music and every kind of event imaginable, the individuals and the group have become legendary for their flexibility.

Business Owner
Ken Ulansey, Penn Council for the Arts winner, plays alto and soprano sax and clarinet. Besides leading the Ken Ulansey Ensemble, that specializes in funk, swing, motown, latin, pop, klezmer, zydeco and oldies, Ken has toured extensively in Europe and the States, played on nearly two hundred recordings, and worked in collaboration with dancers, film-makers, poets and story-tellers. He is a musical chameleon, having played contemporary classical music with Relache, jazz with his own award-winning band, latin with Synthesis and Minas, and folk music with most of the area’s and even the nation’s leading songwriters. A finalist for the Pew Grant, Ken was awarded a Pennsylvania Council for the Arts grant, and received an award for «Outstanding Musical Achievement» from the Philadelphia Music Foundation.
