Visited on 6÷26÷16. There were so many things wrong I’ll put this review in list format. 1. My order was totally wrong. Ordered eggs over hard, they came over easy. Ordered french fries instead of home fries and still got home fries. 2. Server never came back to check so I had no opportunity to inform her my order was incorrect. 3. Server never came back to see if we needed anything else, a refill on my coffee would have been nice. 4. When the server did finally return it was only to leave the check AND inform us gratuity was not included. 5. We waited for several minutes at the counter to pay our check. Once the hostess arrived while checking us out she never asked how things were. As a result I had to post this review so someone would know how bad this dining experience was. I will never go back.

I’ll finish my review after I get over the worst case of FOODPOISONING I have ever experienced. My 20-month-old, 6 and 9 year olds, and husband are currently coping with the same thing. That’s not to mention the 3 other members of our party. Fun times!

Everyone needs greasy diner food once in a while. Double T always delivers on this! The menu at this location is massive. Don’t bother to look, just get what your appetite wants because its overwhelming! Typical diner with booth seating, juke boxes at the tables, good prices, great pancakes and eggs. Staff to give you some laughs. Very sweet people. Nothing out of the ordinary.

We had chicken fried steak and the chicken pot pie both from the extensive daily dinner specials and they were great those definitely on the bland side. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes which were excellent too. Everything came hot and the service was reasonably fast and the waitress attentive.

Wife and I had breakfast here on 5÷21÷16. I had the Spanish omelet with home fries while wife had an eggs Benedict with a generous portion of crab. Both platters featured large portions of nicely prepared food served by pleasant staff. Because we are over 65 we received a 10% discount. Who can ask for anything more.

We’ve been going to this Double-T for over a dozen years and in the past few years the quality has really slipped. The pastries look much better than they taste. The soups are mediocre and lukewarm, the pasta is mushy. The service is polite but inattentive(or maybe the kitchen is just slow). The salad does not taste fresh. On the good side, the breakfast food is good,(though last time there were under-cooked spots in the pancakes), the soft-drinks are large, and the jukebox has a good selection. It used to be much better. My experience with the Double-T in Catonsville(Rt 40& Rolling Road) is better.

The owner is an awesome guy. The 15% mandatory service charge after 10 sucks, because the waitresses do not need to come back to refill drinks or ask how your food is. Great place otherwise!

I can’t even give the Double T in Ellecott City a quarter of a star. The customer service is nonexistent. Saturday, May 14, 2016 my wife and I were greeted at the door without a «Hello.» The lady just asked, 2? We were then seated in a booth towards the back of the bar area. We were seated for about 15 minutes. No one came to offer us a glass of water or to see if we were ready to order. Then, a family of six is seated right across from us. Within a minute, they are served water. My wife and I looked at each other with the look of, «I know this is not happening!» I tried to signal the lady who seated me and she just turned in another direction. We decided to leave and the woman at the register who handles the check just looked at us and said nothing. Yes, I am going there. My wife and I are black. In today’s time we should not be treated any different than any white person. My money is green just like everyone else and has the same dead presidents on the face. You can have the double standard at the double t in Ellecott City! We don’t have to patronize establishments that treats people differently based on the color of their skin.

The menu us HUGE. It will have something for just about any craving. The Greek food is well done. Sandwiches are large and filling. The sides are generous. Service is meh however. The staff seems to be easily distracted and have little hiding places they gather in and loose track of their customers during the slower times. During the busier time this improves so go closer to regular hours. The desserts look good but disappoint. Cakes have good flavor but tend to be dry. The wife and I will continue to return because of the food choice and the value of the quantity for the price.

My wife and I have been to this location several times, because the service and food were better than the Catonsville location, which is closer to home. On our most recent trip, we thought it was odd that one of the busboys sat us, took & served our drink orders. He was very friendly & prompt. Our server, who finally swung by our table nearly 10 minutes later, was not. She greeted us with«are you ready to order?», and things never got better from there. My wife and I had ordered entrees, which come with both a soup and salad. The vegetable soup was an odd collection of broccoli, cabbage, squash, and other little bits of random vegetables. The broth was fairly light & flavorless. The saltines added some necessary salt & flavor. We both ordered Caesar salads, but mine came with a dressing which tasted like a combination of Caesar and honey mustard. Our waitress didn’t return to our table until our entrees arrived nearly 20 minutes later, so I didn’t bother asking for the right dressing. My wife had a «crusted» fish, which turned out to be a mushy bread topping, which was anything but«crusted». I opted for the«broasted» chicken, which I’ve enjoyed elsewhere. Double T’s version, sadly, was completely lacking flavor. There was clearly no marination or seasoning applied to this chicken prior to being broasted. The, admittedly, crunchy crust was just flour with no added seasonings. The accompanying fries were also equally unseasoned. Our waitress visited a table behind ours multiple times, but never stopped back to refill drinks or check on our meals until our boys were done with their meals. Neither my wife nor I finished our meals. I took my leftovers home, thinking that some sauce could salvage the chicken. Sadly, it didn’t help. Our dogs, who clearly aren’t as discerning with their food, enjoyed the leftovers just fine.

Ordered Combination Appetizer Platter, mozzarella cheese fries, Greek salad, and matzah ball soup. Food was horrible! Only good thing was the cheese fries. Even the sour apple martini tasked like dish water. Party of two, no Bueno!

Just left, I don’t see a reason to return. It was OK at best… the French Toast is tasteless, the bacon was overcooked and the coffee… was meh. Maybe they have other options that are better but this morning… the only things that were good were my fried eggs… they didn’t require much effort to prepare might be why they were good.

Been here about 2 dozen times because for some reason my friends absolutely worship this place. The breakfast items are really good such as their omelettes and pancakes but everything else falls flat. It’s also very pricey for the drinks and the service here is absolutely atrocious. The waiters and waitresses are always incredibly rude/weird(the old lady is wayyyyy too touchy). The old lady waitress needs to go. She’s very creepy and ive seen and experienced first hand her always rubbing younger men’s shoulders and backs. VERY creepy. And the waiters never refill your water either.

I feel safe writing a review here as our family has been here a dozen times. Positives Huge menu, lots to eat for kids Nice selections for desserts The portion size for some dishes is pretty good Negatives The food is pretty bland and lacking in flavor. Their greek food and breakfast options are probably the best choices. For what you receive in terms of quality, its pretty expensive. The service is generally poor, on our recent trip our waiter said ‘sorry’ to nearly every table he was servicing as he constantly was making mistakes.

Bad experience, and terrible customer service. I just got carry out of pancakes, bacon, eggs, scrapple, corn muffin and fries for around $ 19. Except there were no fries included. The scrambled eggs were supposed to come with two side choices, of which I got a corn muffin and french fries. My husband picked it up. It was not till we started eating that I realized that the fries were missing. Sigh. My husband called to complain and ask for a refund. The woman he spoke to said that he could come in and pick up the fries. At this point it was after 9pm, my husband said it was late and he did not want to come back out. He would rather have a refund. She refused and told him to just come in whenever and ask for her by name to get the fries. Then she said«Happy New Year» and hung up on him! Wow! This is a great way to end the year with bad carry out service from Double T! They are the biggest diner in the area and I love their full menu. But if this is what I have to deal with then they are not even worth going to again. I found hair in my food on a previous order, but tried to ignore it and definitely did not complain. They are also over priced. We go out to eat a lot and will be avoiding them in the future. They just lost a customer.

Only a 1 star because I had to, it should have been a Zero. I can not recommend this place for anyone. I don’t know how this place has a wait from open to close? The website stated Gluten Free options available and no one knew what we were talking about. The server was very short with us. FYI: Sunday’s are busy at diners. The food was pretty disappointing this time. I ordered the same thing this time that ate here a few months ago and it was very different. The home fries should have been advertised as boiled smashed potatoes browned on one side in a skillet. The chicken pot pie had sour gravy, hence leaving it inedible. We were charged full price for things for things that should have been add-on and up-charged for something that were advertised as included. Two people were sick by the time we got home.

I had a taste for some Pancakes so I decided to go to the diner. Very casual dining and basic diner atmosphere. The menu was very eclectic and the prices are not bad at all. When one goes to a diner, you don’t go for the service. Service was typical and nothing more than you should expect at a diner. I got the Double T Breakfast which consisted of two pancakes or French toast, two eggs, two sausages links, two strips of bacon and hash browns. I was allowed to substitute the meat options for scrapple which I absolutely love. Had they had warm syrup, I would have been in heaven. If you are wanting diner eats or a late night snack, this is your spot.

I rarely write a review without visiting a business at least 2 to 3 times and the double T diner is no exception. My first two visits at the Double T were okay at best. As diners go, especially Double T’s, this one falls below average. I have the say, this was the worst experience at this chain. They had a large party of about 30 people including 10 to 12 children which was fine. The owner came over so it’s gonna be a few extra minutes and got us our drinks. A ten minutes later our server came over. We Both ordered cheeseburger deluxe’s. I had onion rings and my date had french fries. Total bill with the soda was $ 28.80. Then the waiting game happened. It took over 25 minutes to receive our food. In that time our server stood over on the side and was gabbing with other servers nonstop. Server from another table saw that I needed a refill which of course wouldn’t happen if they didn’t use such tiny little cups and charge such an exorbitant price for a cup of soda. It was amazing to me that she was completely oblivious to the fact that we sat there waiting for her to bring us our food. This is not the first time I’ve experienced this servers arrogance. When the food finally did come the plates were hot because our food set under the warmer for probably at least 10 to 15 of those minutes while she sat there and talked and talked and talked. I’ve posted pictures of the inedible product. The tomatoes were sensually white on the inside in the lettuce was brown on the edges as you can see. Onion rings were oil soaked and I swear the batter was very granular like it wasn’t fully mixed. My dates food was inedible everything was completely dried out from sitting under a heat lamp. No refills for our beverages during our meal. And of course, in classic server style she became very attentive when it was time to deliver the check. Incredible. I’m not going to post the description or the name of the server because I want everyone to avoid this place like the plague. Take your chances here. The food is subpar for double T diner. And remember I am basing this review on three visits here. Too expensive for such poor quality food and service. You could do better by driving six or 7 miles down the road to the Catonsville double T diner and get far better food quality and far better service. And a note to the owners who decided to cheap out on the size of the sofa glasses. You’re ripping your guests off and we know it. At almost $ 3 a cup with ice there can’t be more than 8oz of soda. And your strategy of having servers avoid refills is being noticed.

I visit Double T fairly frequently there are two in my neighborhood. We stopped in just to grab a mid morning meal. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and to be honest it was much better than I expected! The eggs were cooked slightly more than they should’ve been but that was actually fine with me. The potatoes were basically burnt so I didn’t bother with them. Since to day was 3.14, I decided to end my meal with a slice of banana cream pie to go… Well the pie made me sad. It was a huge mound of whipped cream with some slices of banana inside. I don’t know about you but I have never had a banana cream pie that was 100% whipped cream… FAIL! Well they have plenty of other desserts, so I may give them another try in the dessert department.

I like how a lot of the other reviewers seem to expect fantastic food and service at a run of the mill diner. It’s not all that fancy, and unless you go there during a dead quiet time, it’s going to be busy and the waiters are going to be scrambling all over themselves to get people served. Despite the ratings, this place is the diner that most locals go to. Some of their servers are good. If you there regularly they treat you like kings and give you the good servers, plus the servers recognize you. My family goes there with my sister, who has severe autism, and they have been incredibly patient with everything that goes with that. My sister has thrown and broken things and they have always been polite about it. One time, she threw a plate or something and it shattered(of course), and one of the front desk guys, Joey, comes up to us and says, «Don’t worry about it. We’re Greeks. A party doesn’t start with us until someone breaks something.» As for the variety of food, they have practically everything. Is it absolutely perfect? No, of course not. It’s a diner trying to offer everything that everyone wants. Is the food good? Yes it is. It’s good, soulful food that isn’t trying to impress anyone, just trying to feed. There breakfasts are the best. I love their omelets. I also love the fusion of Greek and American food. The Gyro Club is another one of my favorites. It is hard to substitute things if the food has already been prepared. The soups, sides, hash browns, etc. are all made up in the morning in big batches so it is difficult to get things substituted for already prepared things. They do have a lot of options and are always willing to make things right. My only complaint is they started making their desserts out of house, at Ya Ya’s bakery. I mean their bakery stuff is good, but when they were making all of it in house, it was fantastics! Their carrot cake was so moist and delicious. You can still get it at the Catsonville diner, because they make everything in house there, but not at the Ellicott City one.
