For the first time in my life, I had to file an insurance claim. I was dreading calling my insurance company as I sat in my almost-​all-​windows-​shattered-​paint-​chipped-​entire-​body car after some pretty bad storm damage. I guess you can judge and review your insurance company on things like cost and service, but until you actually have to file a claim, you may never actually know how great (or terrible) they really are.
Luckily for me, Country Financial was outstanding.
The lady on the phone gave me no hassles, told me I could get my car towed wherever I liked. I really had no idea the extent of the damage, but I knew I couldn’t drive home going 60 with all my windows shattered (but not yet broken in/​out). I really didn’t have time to research or call around for quotes, so I asked they call a tow company that would bring my car to ELCO Chevrolet in West County, as it was one of the only Chevy dealers I knew of that had a body shop. Forty-​five minutes later, my tow truck arrived and took away my precious Princess Sparkles.
The VERY.NEXT.DAY. I got a call from the insurance inspector guy, who went over my car with a fine-​tooth comb. After telling me how much the damage was going to cost to fix, I nearly shit myself, but took a breath and thanked God for comprehensive car insurance and my relatively measly deductible, when compared to the damage. The next day after that, I had my check.
Fast forward to last night. I was finally able to pick up my car after a month. Signed over my insurance check and my deductible, and I was good to go.
No horror stories of the insurance company being dicks, no hassle with the check, no hassle from the insurance company, and no rate hikes! In fact, just days after I made the claim, I got a letter in the mail with my new rates — that went DOWN because I turned 25.
I seriously don’t think I can endorse a company more than this, so if you’re looking for car or homeowners or any other kind of insurance, I highly, highly! recommend giving Country Financial a call.
