Excellent gym, biggest gym I’ve ever seen. Membership prices are also the highest I’ve ever paid for a gym. I cancelled because they’re in a area that’s very difficult to get to, lots of traffic constantly, and it just isn’t worth sitting in traffic forever to get to the gym. They need to move to a better location. Cancellation was a bit of a pain, they would not allow cancelling over the phone, they insisted I come in and wait to cancel. Then the salesperson kept trying to convince me not to cancel but there’s nothing they can do about traffic. Like I said great gym, lots to do, but difficult to get to.

Love this place. Nice new equipment, fresh towels and clean locker rooms. Well worth the extra money.

The facilities are top notch and just beautiful! But there’s a couple things that have disappointed me and actually caused us to cancel our membership. First of all, when we signed up we were told that if our life bucks expire (which they do automatically after 90 days) to just let them know and they will put them back on our account, no problem. However that is not what has happened. We had $ 275 of life bucks and after contacting our sign up employee 5 times and going in circles with different employees, we only have $ 50 put back on our account now. It’s just not worth the headache anymore. But definitely a bummer. Also, we have 3 young kids and are just not comfortable with their childcare. They are great about safety and making sure that only parents can enter in etc… However, they have ALL ages together in one room (minus the 0 – 12 month babies). This is a huge room with some big kids in it. My kids were extremely overwhelmed the first time they walked in and really don’t like going… Still to this day. They beg us not to go. It should be fun but it’s just too much for them. They put the 12 month babies or walkers in with all the big kids, which is outrageous to me. Every time you go in there you see big kids running around and little babies just crying at the door. I think there should be more of a separation of ages than what they offer. Also they offer iPads for the kids to play on which is not cool from a parents perspective. You want your kids to play, not be on technology. Also, there are never enough employees in the kids area and it can get pretty busy in there. All that being said, we had to cancel our membership because we have a 10 month old baby and just can trust to put him in the childcare.

Very nice equipment and facilities. However, if you set up recurring charges for your membership, you’ll NEVER be able to get them to stop charging you!!!

While the facilities themselves were very nice and clean, I was unimpressed with the staff. I applied to get a job in the aquatics department and all the extra work you have to do to get hired was ridiculous. I understand that it was all for the purpose of making the program the best that it could be, but it shouldn’t have been that difficult to go through the whole process. It would also be helpful for the training sessions for new employees to be more accessible, rather than one every 4 months.

This is a great gym. All of the amenities are very nice, it’s very clean and there is so much equipment, you don’t have to wait or do something different than you had your heart set on. The locker rooms are accommodating with towels and blow dryers. Hot sauna and eucalyptus steam. Tons of showers that have soap in them as well. Only small downside, I don’t always see people clean their machines (cardio included) and that’s just disgusting. But, not necessarily the gyms fault.

The food area is nice but the service is extremely slow. There always seems to be one person working in their and that persons is in slow motion.
I believe the employees there don’t know how to multitask in that department.
A woman (I believe her named is Tes) needs to be folding towels. That’s about how much energy/​Mojo she puts into her job.
Other than that great workout place!

My fitness sanctuaryI can do so much more than workout here. I typically make a day of it; train, take a pool break, grab lunch, attend a group fitness class, hit the steam room, shower then I’m off to other things without even having to go back home and refresh. You can do it ALL at Life Time. It’s literally an all-​inclusive fitness center for all ages and fitness levels.

BEWARE of this place… I had been a member of Life Time Fitness since November of 2008. I cancelled my membership because my family’s lifestyle just didn’t fit in to using it enough to justify the insane monthly family fee. All of that aside… the REAL issues is when you resign your membership. I called the local facility that I belonged to on November 3^rd and they said I had to send a letter. I sent a letter in the mail the very next day, but they still took out a December payment. When I visited them with a copy of the letter, they told me that I should have sent it certified mail, but there was no mention to me of sending certified when I called a month earlier… how convenient is that? When I gave them a copy of the letter, they couldn’t believe I wasn’t smart enough to have sent it certified. Bottom line is, they took out a payment for November, a payment for December and it appears that they are going to take out a payment for January, but then credit me back for that amount? What? This is a classic scam to pull another couple of payments out of your wallet, with no apparent recourse. At the very least, I can warn others of their sneaky tactics. BEWARE… it’s not worth the aggravation, all things considered…

I was a member at Lifetime for about 2 years and didn’t use the gym facilities to its full capacity. While I did spinning classes, weight lifting, yoga classes, cardio equipment, masters swim sessions, and weight machines I never had a chance to try out the café, the salon, child care (my kids are too big) or the rock climbing wall. Life Time Fitness is a VERY nice facility with a myriad of options for anyone looking to get in shape who gets bored easily (ME). This gym is so large though that its easy to get lost both literally and figuratively-​especially on the parking lot.
Now-​let me break it down in terms of the pros & cons:
PROS:
Gorgeous facility. As in its the Taj Mahal of fitness centers
Kick ass instructors: Top of the heap in terms of quality & inspiration
Cleanliness. For the amount of traffic rolling through this place the gym is clean. The bathrooms and showers are nice & clean too. I actually enjoyed getting ready there.
Variety: So much to do/​so little time
Wait times for equipment-​non existent. There are SO many cardio machines you never have to wait for one.
CONS:
Price-​I get it. You get what you pay for. If you are someone who will use this facility and EVERYTHING it has to offer then you may find this a good value. Given the fact that I have access to a free gym at work, I wasn’t using this facility enough to justify paying what I was paying for my membership. Its expensive.
Salespeople-​When we joined here we had a very young & handsome (according to my daughters) boy set up our membership. It was a complete disaster. No ones name was correct and he made up email addresses so I had to work with the member services gals (who were awesome btw) to get this mess straightened out. I think they hire most of the sales guys based on their looks, not there ability or intellect. I understand this is a vanity based business so I get it but still. Competence is under-​rated.
Too Big– Not everyone will agree with this but a gym that is this big with so many members loses something in terms of having a personal touch. Its hard to get to know people!
Location-​They only have one facility in the St. Louis area and while this facility is in West County it is further from my home than I would like. There are gyms that are closer and cheaper that have what I need.

Yes Lifetime Fitness of West County is large, lots of machines and locker rooms are well stocked. Staff very pushy I was told on numerous occasions that I needed a trainer even though I told them that I already had a personal trainer at another gym also they try to sell you supplements! Indoor pool always cold and I was told by other members its always been like that. Then try to resign your membership, you must jump through hoops and pay an extra months membership even if you have extenuating circumstances, they don’t want to hear them!

I love Lifetime. Michelle with Team Fitness is fabulous! The best part… Although the parking lot is full, in over a year I have never had to wait for a machine.
The only down side to this gym is the lack of fans. It gets so hot! LT put up some fans!

I visit Lifetime 4 – 5 times each week during the mid afternoon slow time so I can’t speak to the heavier times. Though I have heard people say otherwise, I myself have never visited a cleaner gym setting which is impressive when you think about the number of people that use this place on a daily basis. At any time you can find one or two people on each floor cleaning and wiping. The locker room is always just about perfect. People may talk about a towel or two laying around but with 50 – 60 people coming thru that area every 30 mins it is impressive how clean they keep it.
Although their rates are higher than other gyms I have never felt that I wasn’t getting my money’s worth here. So many machines for cardio that you will rarely wait to get on one although they could use a couple more rowing machines. If I do have one complaint and this keeps them from getting a 5^th star in my book, it would be machine maintenance. I would guess part of this is the fact that with so many machines that most people just move to another and don’t mention the problems to the staff. But nevertheless they should have staff try out each machine daily because there are many that need some TLC. Whether it be loose chains on the stair masters or broken buttons on elipticals. Weight side of the gym is amazing between free weights and machines you won’t find better. Though I don’t use the pool inside or out they always appear clean and inviting.
The café, although pricey offers an amazing variety of food for a gym setting. The few smoothies and lunches I have eaten have always been perfectly prepared.
The list of spa offerings are impressive even though I don’t use it.
Staff is always friendly and inviting and lots of parking is always available.
Basketball courts, rock wall climbing and lots of free available classes round out what is an amazing place. Like I said earlier you pay higher dues but you get what you pay for.

Broken equipment that does not get fixed in timely manner, very high rates, management staff is very inconsiderate, after being a member for 8 years I left, much better gyms in the immediate area… why pay $ 180 month for family membership… try Wildhorse fitness in Ballwin .www​.wild​hors​e​fit​ness​.com

It is a very clean gym with plenty on options for group classes as well as personal trainers. I signed up there because they had a child care center. While the facilities are very clean and interesting, the employees are like hitting a jack pot. After a while going there you know which ones are really good with your children, and which are there just to get their dollar an hour. I cringe when I go in the child center and do not see any of the good child care staff, because I would be lucky if I get a 30 minute workout in before I get called in to a crying child or dirty diaper. Some of the staff is really sweet and personable, and some of them are just so cold faced and impressionable that it makes me wonder how they got a job with children to begin with. The person in charge of the child center is the worse to begin with. I am considering canceling my gym membership just because of that.
But, If you have no children, I believe you will love this gym. They do, however, use high pressure sales even after you sign up. I believe there are plenty of machines and group classes to ignore those high pressure add on sales. Unless you need a personal trainer to get with the program, you’ll be just fine with all the gym offers for a membership fee.

I have been using Lifetime gyms for over a year. Recently relocated to the gym in Ellisville. The classes are great. There is a lot to choose from and the classes are at decent times.
The gym is pricey but it is a nice gym so I think it’s worth it.
I dislike the car salesman aspect of it. It is very commercial with advertisements everywhere and the salespeople are pretty obnoxious. But once you get past signing up you don’t have to deal with them.
I don’t have kids but my friends rave about the free childcare at the gym.
The only thing that freaks me out is the lack of cleaning wipes in the group classes. There are none!
People sweat on the mats and put them back and people use them for the next class. I have never been so disgusted. How are others okay with this?
I will be bringing in my own wipes since I asked management to put cleaning wipes in the group classes and they don’t seem to care.
Huge health hazard!

Maybe Life Time Fitness is a nice getaway if you can afford the high costs. But as soon as you can no longer afford it, WATCH OUT for the obnoxious staff’s comments. What kind of human beings say to their customers upon cancellation: «GOOD LUCK AT CLUB CHUB»?
There is never an excuse to speak to people like that. Get some manners, Life Time Fitness. And some new management.

Pros — Nice facility, 2 basketball courts, rock climbing, pool.
Cons — Poor and pushy management, high turnover employees/​trainers, overpriced at $ 69 a month (and they continue to raise rates on you), overcrowded, if you bring a guest they will be harassed. Read the reviews on google maps, I think many of the reviews here have been made up by management. They have way more reviews and almost every single review is rated poor.
FYI, to quit they won’t accept your request over the phone or by mail (because it is in the fine print in the contract you sign). You must send certified mail or go see them in person. And they will bill you for an extra month (in fine print).

Very nice facility, clean, and love the steam room. The downside is how expensive and extremely pushy the people that work there are.

Came here as a guest of my friend last Friday morning to accompany her to a 5:00am Boot Camp class and let me tell you… it was so worth waking up at 4:30am to go workout that early before work! John was our trainer and it was a very small class of only 6 people but man, I felt my glutes and muscles burning for days after that workout!
I belong to 2 other gyms already but I am considering joining this place because 1) The gym is very large and spacious and clean 2) Great trainers that really work you hard 3) They have a great mini café and spa at Lifetime
