Margaret’s is still a great tailor shop.
We had two vests for a wedding that both needed to be larger. We thought this may be impossible, but we took them to Margaret and she was able to fix both vests. We brought in a third vest we had ordered and were planning to return, but she was able to use the fabric from the third extra vest to add more width to both of the too-​small vests. They both look excellent and the price was only $ 40 per vest.

I’ve been back numerous times with zipper problems that Margaret has fixed for very little money.
One needed just a new tab for pulling.
Another was out of alignment, and that was a simple correction.
One of the jackets I had to take back, because the zipper (nylon) blew from the bottom up. And it was all asunder with none of the teeth lining up.
So, she fixed the all asunder problem, and showed me how to zip it up. Get the alignment in properly and quite sternly firmly. It cost me nothing for this fabulous lesson.
And that’s how I zip up that jacket now.

I took in a swimsuit for some alterations. I called and asked whether or not it would even be possible given that I was leaving in 36 hours and wanted to take it with me. Not to mention the threat of a snowstorm heading our way that very day. They were so nice! They called me 90 minutes later and it was done!

My family has used her services for 15+ years. She has done a great job with a variety of items, both mens & womens for dress and casual. She’s also did a great job on several prom dresses, bridesmaids and one wedding dress. We’ve only had one time over the years where an outfit didn’t turn out as expected, but after discussing it with her and her other employee, she was able to fix it quickly.

I brought a bridesmaid dress here to be taken in and Margaret was very helpful, nice and took her time to get the measurements just right. It was a little spendy to take it in ($ 100), but it fit right in the end. Satisfied with her previuos work, I decided to take my husbands jacket in to replace the zipper… again, a little spendy ($ 30). But, it works. I then decided to bring in some pants to be taken in as well as a dress to shorten the sleeves. I had to wait a while when she stopped to help another customer that walked in… but whatever. I felt a little rushed and Margaret seemed a little flustered. When I went to pick up my clothes, I wasn’t able to try on in the store b/​c the only employee there was with another customer and I had my kids so… when I got home I was able to try them on and found one sleeve to be 1.5 inches longer than the other and only the waist on the pants were taken in, but the saddlebag sides weren’t done. When I went back in to have her fix these she was out of town. I explained to her employee the problem and the employee said the sleeves were done uneven on PURPOSE to match the design of the dress. She kept saying Margaret thought it would look absolutkey ridiculous if the pattern was different on one sleeve. To which I explained it looked ridiculous having one sleeve longer than the oher. Then, the pants… why would I want only the waist and not the sides??? To which she said each alteration has a different charge associated with it…$ 25 for the waist… another $ 25 to take in on sides… another cost for the crotch area… WTF!!! In the end, the employee said she would work on both and gave me a two hour window in which to pick them up the next day. I appreciated her help, but I’ve been to less expensive & more attentive tailors. I’m just new to the area & she was referred by my realtor…
