History

Established in 2013.

This business was started in June of 2014 after I retired from 13 years of service in the IT department of the Jackson Laboratory, where I served as an IT Support Specialist and performed an array of Help Desk and Service Desk tasks, as well as ran multiple IT related projects.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

I was born in Vermont but moved to Maine when I was 4 years old. I attended Orono High School and while I never officially enrolled at UMO… I spent a majority of my spare time there in the computer labs from age 10 to 18. I started working for Excel Computer in 1998 and within 3 months was promoted to Service Manager. I oversaw 3 or 4 other technician while performing on-​site and in-​house repair services. I was also on-​call for the Pyxis medication dispensing machines located in almost every hospital on the planet. I just happened to support all of them north of (and including) Augusta.

In the summer of 2001 I began a 13-​year employ at The Jackson Laboratory, where I served a role as IT Support Sepcialist until starting SmartBytes in 2014.

I have a wife, daughter, Great Dane, a few too many cats, and a talent for making sick computers well again. I’m also an avid Subaru enthusiast, ham-​radio operator and video game player (and game server host).
