Had a local move where a couple things didn’t make it, like a glass shelf for the TV stand and a caster on a wire shelf went missing. Seriously?
Multiple phone calls, very little help in responses and «we’ll look into it.» After multiple attempts I just gave up.
They arrived with a messy truck so they had to allocate time to actually clearing it. They arrived at the wrong place and took 2 whole hours longer to get the move done.
It’s a local move, so you can’t go to HQ about it.
Don’t bother with this place. What pisses me off is that I went with these guys solely because I used to work for HQ.

All Chicagoland Movers is the company that finally made me sign up for Unilocal!They did such a great job, I felt others should be able hear about the experience. I used All Chicagoland for a local move and would highly recommend them. We called a couple of weeks before our move and they sent someone out the next day to estimate the move. They were picking up from our three bedroom home and a storage unit and delivering to a new house two days later. They gave us what we considered to be a very fair quote and we accepted it. They came out just when they said they would on the pick up day. Steve and the crew were fast, polite and professional. When it came time to drop at the new house, they were even earlier than the first day. Even though it was a three story house, they never once complained. Again, they were fast, polite and professional. They were also very engaging to the entire family and (probably most importantly when you’re talking about a move) very careful with our belongings and caring for our home. They protected the floors and carpets, took things apart with care (including removing and reinstalling doors) and asked over and over again if they could do anything else for us. In the end, they ended up charging us $ 600 LESS than the estimate. When does that ever happen?! All Chicagoland provided a great moving experience at a great price.

These people can’t get a schedule right if their lives depended on it. For our condo move out they showed up 3.5 hours late, which drove us and the condo association crazy — and for everyone who was stuck in Friday afternoon 6÷26÷2015 rush hour traffic jam at Sheridan & Hollywood, you can blame them. We incurred overtime charges because of their tardiness and everyone we talked to passed the buck to someone else. Similar problem with the move in a month later: «Be there at 8am» turned into a 9:30am arrival. While they did a very good job packing and none of our furniture got damaged, they were pretty careless with boxes marked «fragile» — we found lots of them on the bottom of a 5-​box stack and have lots of breakage as a result. I won’t consider using them again.

We have moved 4 times in 5 years. All Chicagoland Moving & Storage did an excellent
and professional job from beginning to end. Help in planning, setting up appointments,
excellent communication, and timely service and given my wife and I complete satisfaction.
They are likely the best mover in the Chicago area. The moved my grand piano 4 times
with no repercussions and moved and delivered our property with care.
We moved from Naperville to Chicago to Glen Ellyn to Fredericksburg, VA.
Experience makes a difference.

This company is so wonderful. I was so scared to choose a moving company after all the reviews I read. I saw one good one for this company and called them. They were all you could want in a moving company: professional, courteous, timely, clean and careful. Guy and his crew did a great job tagging, packing and loading my «stuff.»
And on the other end in Sarasota, George and Cody Layton did a fabulous job unloading and setting up.
DO NO BE AFRAID to hire them. And I found the pricing more than acceptable.

I would not advise anyone to use this company. They are wildly disorganized and amateurish. I called Larry to get an estimate for a move, clearly stating the date by which I would need my belongings to arrive in their final destination. He was quite rude and difficult to deal with but I figured that it wasn’t a huge deal. I was provided with a quote and an estimated pick up date, but was also told that they needed to do an in-​home estimate to get a binding sum. I’m out of town for the summer so I went through the trouble of mailing my keys to a friend who could let someone into my apartment. They were unwilling to schedule evenings or weekends, which meant that my friend had to take a morning off of work. After the in-​home estimate was complete, they sent me a quote that listed a pick-​up date that was three weeks later than the ARRIVAL date that I had requested over the phone! When I called to inquire about this, they said that there were no more pick-​up dates during the month I needed to move. No apology for wasting my time or my friend’s time — just more rudeness. They even suggested that I move a month later (do they understand how leases work?) and suggested that using the other available options would damage my belongings. This company is a joke.

BEST MOVING COMPANY I HAVE WORKED WITH! I have moved several times over several years, some company paid, some paid for personally. These guys are by far the most professional, courteous and performed two Chicago moves of mine flawlessly. From the initial scheduling, my several calls with questions, to the final moving experience, EVERY interaction was professional, courteous and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Terrible experience, disconnect between departments, unreliable promises, stomach and headaches.
What’s crazy is that in the beginning of the process … they seem so together, so trustworthy.
My experience is too long to detail all that happened to us, but in brief, we sold our home, All Chgo moved our stuff into storage and redelivered after we moved to a new home:
When they showed up to redeliver, stuff was missing. But they don’t think anything is missing, hmmm why do I have a dining room table without a base, half a ping pong table and half a bunk bed. They admit «made a mistake» we will be back with the rest of the stuff. I get a call from the office and they are going to charge me for the extra trip! I think not. They redeliver, but have lost items (first-​denial, then admission-​yes we cannot find them, then-​who says we lost items, then, oh ya I guess we cannot find them but «we will take care of you»), they admit to the missing bunk bed parts. «We will take care of everything, we made a huge mistake, this never happens». I follow up when I have not heard anything for my «claim of loss» and I end up working with the Better Business Bureau and a hundred phone calls later to get a payment from this company.
Here is a small but a very typical experience with this company-​at one point, I turn over all the boxes I used, great, thank you! Your deposit will be fully returned. Weeks later a phone call, «you will be charged since you did not return boxes» WHAT?
Say they will not make any further charges, 6 months later one invoice shows up with 6 months worth of charges. I am glad to be done.

worked with Mike Illingworth, the President. He was attentive to my needs, heard my needs and got it done. Got to love a mover who does what they say they’ll do. A family business and his father Larry has an awesome reputation for quality work in mvoing in the Chicago market. a Must for all your moving needs.

Did a great move for me last year and I’m hiring them again! Courteous professional service from scheduling to wrapping furniture to moving! As a real estate broker I have done business with many movers over the years and these movers rate very high.

Giving this company a 1 star rating is generous. I had a 9am appointment scheduled with Darrel Roberts for our home in Wicker Park. I have a strict schedule to keep, had the 9am appt in my calendar and was ready for him at 8:55am to review the space to prepare a proposal. Darrel called at 8:30am saying he was early and I was in a morning class. He called at 8:45am again. I sent him a message and called him at 8:50am and no answer. Called two more times and no answer. So I called the main line, they directed me to him. Darrel picked up the phone and said he «was already half-​way to Evanston and that he couldn’t do our proposal». I reminded him that our appt was at 9am and he replied that «well, I was there a half-​hour early and the appointment wasn’t really even scheduled at 9am». What do that even mean «wasn’t really even scheduled»? Well then why did you call me two times while outside for our 9am? The worst part of this all, there is a winter snow storm advisory today and within a matter of 5 minutes, no one can already be half-​way to Evanston from Wicker Park Ridiculous. Second of all, when you schedule an appt, isn’t that when both parties are scheduled to be available?
After looking at the reviews, I guess it’s a blessing that Darrel has this type of work ethic because it appears like all of Chicagoland is not satisfied with «All Chicagoland Moving & Storage Company». Blessing in disguise.

Do not use this company — you can do much better.
1. I was given an estimate of 3 hours with 3 men to move out of my 1150 sq foot condo, and 1 hour to unload to my new place. They came and looked things over, so I assumed this would be close. Actual — with 3 men — 6.5 hours and 3.5 hours respectively. Bottom line — $ 742 over the estimate. Now I realize it was an estimate — but come on. I think it was a bait and switch to put forth a low bid. My bad in a way — but don’t you be fooled. The men worked reasonably hard and were polite but were in no hurry.
2. They broke several items, and despite paying the $ 50, they fought me tooth and nail to simply repair the glass on a shattered mirror. First they claimed I had packed it (not true), then added on several box charges of $ 30 each (retrospectively) to lessen the amount they would reimburse me. After several weeks of back and forth, I was tired of the whole thing and accepted their offer — about ¹⁄₃ the cost of repairing said mirror. It is obvious they are trying to squeeze every dollar out of the client.
After assessing damages and the difference in cost between estimate and actual charges, the move cost me $ 1000 more than expected. I had used a different company to move before and was very happy with them (Carlson Brothers) but they were not available the day I needed to move. Be forewarned.

I didn’t use the company to move but was very put off by the rude woman answering the phone. The company should be aware of this and hire someone friendlier and more helpful. I wanted to hang up on her.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL
We were sold on the «90 day Claim Process» if we found something wrong we could make a claim for the damage. Sept. 2010 in a matter of hours our things were brought into a 6,000 sq. foot home, my husband signed and wrote the check for a ridiculous $ 2,775. Very next day I noticed the trim on my Dining Room buffet was missing so I phoned Kevin at All Chicagoland. He asked me to look in the drawers, check other furniture because if it fell off the guys might put it in there. GREAT! Is that standard practice not to tell me & «hide» your damage?
After numerous phone calls to Kevin, he told me to take 90 days, unpack everything then make a claim. Included the marble on my patio furniture that fell off and a credenza that was dropped and doors don’t stay on, among other things.
Six weeks later after two phone calls to Kevin because there is NO FOLLOW-​UP from All Chicagoland, I receive a letter in the mail — he couldn’t even phone me back «can’t honor my claim because my husband signed when he paid». THEIR CLAIM PROCESS WAS A huge WASTE OF MY TIME AND MY FURNITURE IS DESTROYED FROM ALL CHICAGOLAND.
Who has time to look thru everything when the items are brought in and the movers have the truck started outside your door and they are waiting to go?
All Chicagoland has A+ rating w/​BBB so I most likely will waste my time there too, they’ve been paying their membership dues is all that tells me. This place is awful.

I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE United Van Lines or All Chicagoland Moving and Storage.
In August, our family moved from Chicago to Pittsburgh. We had a 16-​month old daughter, and I was recovering from knee surgery and was on crutches.
Our experience started off fine. Darrell Roberts, the salesperson who first contacted us, was helpful. We went through our belongings and told him about our off-​site storage. He was patient and took the time to go through the process and our estimate. We felt we had received a fair estimate and the right dates and times for our move.
We continued our planning with Michelle Zielinksi, who was initially helpful securing parking for the semi. We were first concerned when we contacted Ms. Zielinksi a few days before our move. She was surprised to hear that we had off-​site storage but said the movers would take care of it. She also changed the semi to a shuttle truck. We were a little upset because semi parking was already reserved, and a shuttle transfer would mean increased risk of damage and loss, which we would experience later.
On the day of the move, the movers were on-​time. However, they took over 12 hours to move an 800 sqft 1 BR condo plus a 10’x10’ storage unit. We had packed all boxes in our condo, except the fragile items as previously arranged. As we found out later, this time was NOT spent taking extra care of our belongings.
We were initially promised delivery sometime the week of August 9^th but no later than Friday, August 13^th. The 5-​day window was already larger than any window we had ever had in past moves, and we’d moved the pick-​up date forward one week to ensure an August 13^th arrival. However, we received a call on Tuesday, August 10^th that our belongings were being moved onto another truck and would not be delivered until the following week. The original driver had quit. This meant that we were without our furniture or clothes for well over a week. We were stuck in a new city with a knee injury and an infant.
Michelle called us back on Wednesday, August 11^th and told us our stuff would be delivered on Monday. (The only compensation for delay — which we were not told in advance — is $ 125/​day which is not enough for a hotel room plus meals for 2 adults and one infant.) However, on that Monday, we were told it was going to be delayed again, this time until Wednesday. The driver called us to say that he couldn’t get his truck down the street (others have done so) and would transfer our belongings yet again to a smaller truck which would not be available until Wednesday. My wife suggested that they rent a truck. We had planned this move months in advance so that these types of issues were dealt with ahead of time, but that was not done.
We later found out that another reason for the delay was that all of our belongings needed to be re-​inventoried, as the original inventory from the load-​in was incomplete and unclear. For example, we found entries with only a letter such as «C.» Here is another case where additional error was introduced, as we now no longer have an accurate inventory count. The box that was labeled with our coffee and end table hardware did not contain those items so the tables are now unusable as they do not use standard hardware. Also, the initial inventory included 364 items, but the revised inventory only included 340 items. This concerned us a bit. Finally, they wrote up almost everything that was not «packed by owner» as «badly worn», «scratched», «gouged», or «chipped» even though it is not. Thankfully, most items made it to our new home in acceptable condition, but clearly this notation was an attempt to falsify the condition to protect the mover from future damage claims. We only signed the documentation because a) we didn’t fully understand the confusing notation which was never explained to us, and b) it was almost 10pm, and we had endured 12 hours of packing.
Furthermore, We found that commissioned piece of art costing over $ 1,000, which we specifically requested to be packed in a mirror box and listed on the High Value List, was throw on the truck unpacked and sustained significant damage during transit. We found other fragile items that were not fragile packed as we had contracted. Our baby’s changing table was destroyed. When we started to document damage, the delivery lead snapped, «I hope you are not reporting everything as it goes against my pay.» My husband was upset that he said that, and it made me feel threatened and scared.
At the end, the delivery team tried to get out of putting our furniture together because even though the movers in Chicago had broken down our furniture, it was never marked as such so the delivery team wrote down that it was owner disassembled.
We filed a complaint with the BBB, and obviously United paid them off because the BBB refuses to arbitrate a settlement. Ridiculous!!!

So I’m finally done with this shithole company. These guys are criminal. I regret ever giving them a penny of my hard earned money. They ruined my wedding photos, damaged my furniture and did not cover the damages. Horrible lying crooks.

Had a HORRIBLE experience with this company. The owner comes to my house to give me a quote, I accept it, go with him (even though it was a more expensive quote than other businesses, I trusted this guy because it was a family run business and expected better service. BIG MISTAKE.)
When they try to deliver my furniture to Boston, they can’t fit the entertainment center (which i paid about 1000 for) up the stairs. So they leave it in the lobby, and a week later, it was gone (the building people might have moved it– I was in the process of trying to get a third party out to give me an estimate to get it up) The owner of All Chicagoland was actually in my place in Chicago, saw and KNEW this piece of furniture would need to be moved, and never pointed out that this entertainment center might be a problem. When I tell them they need to do something– either get a third party mover to get it up the stairs or take it apart for me, they say «how should we have known it wouldn’t be able to fit up there?» You are the moving company! That is what you do! Anyway, we are disputing the 800 charge with the credit card company now, but I’m definitely out an entertainment center that cost a lot.
Everyone at this company was so unhelpful and made it sound like it was my fault I wanted to move such a big piece of furniture. I do NOT recommend!!!
This shouldn’t even get one star, but I don’t want people to think I left it blank on accident.
