History

Established in 2005.

Café Amano opened its doors for business in downtown Elmhurst in February 2005. The owners, Marco Conte and Chris DePodesta, traveled throughout Europe to gather ideas on creating the perfect European establishment in Chicagoland. The original Café Amano concept was a French /Italian inspired coffee, wine and dessert bar. Approximately six months after opening, our patrons began asking for more food; at this point we stepped up to a full service concept to serve our unique style of cuisine.

In January of 2006, the Chicago Daily Herald recognized Café Amano as one of the «top ten new suburban restaurants.» We have been featured on 190NORTH’s weekly television show. Over the years, we have continually educated ourselves to bring our diners the true taste of cuisine from around the world.

Over the years, Café Amano has grown our clientele base and has expanded into catering and special events. Preferred caterer at Elmhurst Park District’s Wilder Mansion & Elmhurst Art Museum.
