History

Established in 2003.

Barco de Papel opened as a bookstore willing to address the needs of its neirborhood, one of the world’s most diverse areas of the World. Our name has become well know not only among our Spanish-speaking customers but also among researchers and lovers of Latin American culture due to our ongoing events we host. Reading and book signing by local authors, open mic for poets and writers, play readings (classic and from local playwrights), classes, workshops, literary gatherings and musical presentations have formed part of our extensive and cultural cultural program.

Barco de Papel has also worked hard to spread the Spanish language among the new generations with our children programs. young ones can discover a fun way to learn and interact in Spanish while reinforcing cultural pride and roots

It is also a meeting place for artists, poets and writers who are trying to find their space among the crowd. Barco de Papel motivates young contemporary artist in the city.
