Maya Thread Salon

I believe I been coming here for the last three years non-​stop once a month to get the same things done.
I don’t think I’ve ever had so much loyalty to one beauty salon. The people that work here are all very nice and very welcoming.
The threading for eyebrows are only $ 5 and $ 4 on Mondays and Tuesdays, you can’t beat prices like that. Brazilian wax is only $ 20 which is really cheap in this day and age. They do it really fast then press on it to save the pain. I also get a gel manicure done here once a month which is also $ 20 also a fairly price deal.
Honestly I don’t have to say much, the prices speaks for itself. I only wished they had more customers because I’ve built a relationship with them so I want them to have good business but the selfish part of me doesn’t want them to be too busy cuz then I’ll have to wait before I see them. :X Jk.
Would I recommend it to my friends? Of course, already do!

I love this place they do my eyebrows great I’m so happy my store is only right upstairs from them anytime I need a quick touchup with my eyebrows a facial or manicure or pedicure I just run right downstairs and they take me right a way great place and not expensive

Not a bad place to get your eyebrows done if you need a place to get it threaded.
Service: I asked to get my eyebrows cleaned up a little and the lady did just that. She didn’t speak to me much other than to confirm that she heard what I wanted to get done.
Experience: The thread snapped more than once while she was threading my eyebrows, which was an uncommon experience for me.
Overall: The service was quick and the wait was just about 5 minutes. The lady did, however, seem a little uncomfortable honoring her Unilocal deal of a free eyebrow threading.

Advertises free threading for checking in but feels uncomfortable honoring the deal. The location is easy to miss because it’s located on the bottom floor, you have to take steps down into the small salon. I appreciated my first threading session for free and tipped, but she didn’t use aloe like most other places do, to relief the skin after a session.
The place is also really quiet inside and she doesn’t really interact with the customer. For that 3 stars.

I’ve been going to Maya thread salon since I moved to Queens, NY which has been three years! Sushila is amazing!!! She’s so talented, patient, and efficient! I do my eyebrows & face every two weeks and full body wax once a month. She also does my microderbrasion facial every once in a while; it has helped me a lot even out my complexion and get rid of acne. You can’t find any better than her in Elmhurst and her prices are so affordable!

Got my brows threaded today for the first time
It hurt a lot but the cashier who did it advised me to pull my skin so it would lessen the pain
My brows are naturally really thick and bushy but now they are pretty thin and nice
Very sanity and nice shape!
I used the check in offer for a free threading but don’t forget to tip!

Very affordable, great service, and quick. They did not make me feel rushed unlike some places. For only $ 4 my eyebrows turned out incredible. I was struggling with getting them even, but the lady who threaded them did an amazing job. She shaped them perfectly and I’m so happy with my eyebrows for once.

This was my first waxing experience and it was great. Super smooth. Then two weeks later my entire waxed area had break outs almost rash like, and almost pimple like. I don’t know why, but for over 3 weeks now I’ve been trying to treat it so it would go away, so I dont know if everything was sanitized or maybe I had a allergic reaction, but I won’t be returning.

I also just got my eyebrows threaded there, and they are awesome! Sujia (lady who did my eyebrows) took her time and really listened to what I wanted. Eyebrows came out how I wanted them and they were arched evenly. Couldnt ask for more and it was only for $ 5, will definitely come back.

Just got my eyes threaded here and it came awesome. They take their time and really listen to the client. If you are in the neighborhood and need to get your eyes brows threaded definitely stop in.

It was the first time i had my brows threaded, so i did not know what to expect. When i got in the salon, they greeted me politely and were very friendly. The place was clean so that was a big deal for me. Cheaper than other threading salons, but still quality service. The waxing services are great especially because they use chocolate wax (for sensitive skin types). The ladies who work there are extremely nice, they make you feel comfortable and are very professional.

Meh. I came to Elmhurst to have dinner at Joju and was looking on Unilocal for a place to get my eyebrows done nearby. I thought I was in luck because this place was right downstairs. They also had a Unilocal deal that was one free eyebrow threading with check in. Tiny place. There are two black couches to sit on and wait. One was filled with bags… O. O and the other one was filled with women waiting who didn’t wanna move over. Lol I proceeded to stand and then it was obvious that the women working were talking about me. BTW make sure that someone doesn’t speak your language before you go talking crap about them. I waited around 25 mins. My eyebrows are extremely thin and I always ask for my eyebrows to just get cleaned up but the woman threading my brows didn’t listen and made them even thinner. Upsetting but mistakes happen. I was pretty irritated but I showed the Unilocal deal to my threader and she had no idea what it was. Her manager didn’t know either. Why offer a deal that you don’t even know how to redeem? Threading is only $ 5 here so paying was whatever but still quite annoying. They offer a card and after a certain number of threadings you get a free one. Pretty common but still a good gesture.

They definitely spent a lot of time on my eyebrows but I didn’t think it was that great. The lady who threaded my eyebrows had a little bit of a hard time and she also took out some tools from the mirror. Overall, service was not good. I wasn’t greeted when I came in nor was there «thank you» when I left– not coming back…

This is my neighborhood spot that I frequent to get my brows threaded. The place is small, clean and there’s almost never a wait for services. The staff is super friendly and they really take their time on your brows. The shaping always looks natural yet defined, which is why this remains my go-​to place!

So i tried this place because my old threading place was too far, suffice it to say I never went back to my old place, they have never cut me (and some places they cut you when they do your eyebrows then blame you) This salon is affordable Neeta has a great sense of your comforts and discomforts. Ive been going to the for a about 4 months now and shes great! I’ve gotten plucked and waxed and its virtually painless which is amazing because i dont have much tolerance for pain. They offer ful body waxes and neeta can consult you on what to get and what not to along with that they have rooms in the back where they do facials and waxing so you feel comfortable and everything is clean! That is a major plus. They use wax for sensitive skin as well so just go there expecting the best.

ran into this place after having lunch in the elmhurst area and I really needed to get my eyebrows done. The place is small and clean, and you are greeted by the worker right away. Nita did an amazing job with my eyebrows, and I was amazed because my eyebrows have not been shaped so nicely in such a long time. The eyebrow place I usually go to in Forest Hills rushes me, but I felt like Nita took her time and made sure my eyebrows were the way I wanted them to be.
I will def be back. I think this will be my new eyebrow place. :)

Maya has been opened up for a year or so now. I am cautious on writing this review, because I know this place will be soon flooded and I won’t be able to get an appointment! But as a true Unilocaler, I am compelled to share my amazing find.
The people here are so talented on shaping my brows, they are more like artists! Neeta takes a look at my face and shapes my brows accordingly. Very clean, cheap, and great service, at $ 5, you really can’t go wrong.
