Our tax attorneys have successfully resolved tax problems for individuals and businesses since 1991. Although our office is just outside of Chicago, we represent clients from all over the United States as well as some U.S. expatriates living overseas.

Patrick T. Sheehan is a former Special Assistant United States Attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, Office of Chief Counsel. He opened his law firm in 1991 to assist individuals with their tax problems. Mr. Sheehan has over 22 years of experience in IRS and IDR collection matters including payment plans, wage levies, bank levies, tax liens, business taxes, Offers in Compromise, and home and business seizures. Patrick T. Sheehan & Associates now employs three associate attorneys, two paralegals and two staff. We are the largest tax law firm in DuPage County.

Patrick T. Sheehan is a tax attorney and former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney with the IRS, Office of Chief Counsel from 1987 – 1991. He litigated extensively in Federal Court including the U.S. Tax Court and recommended the acceptance or rejection of Offers in Compromise at the IRS District Counsel level. Patrick formerly taught at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, and served as the Director of the Loyola Student Federal Tax Clinic from 1991 – 1999. Patrick was sworn in to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar in 2007. His law practice was founded in 1991 and focuses exclusively on the resolution of federal and state tax disputes with the IRS and the Illinois Department of Revenue. He has trained his staff in all IRS and IDR collection matters. Patrick is also a published author and has been retained as an expert witness in several tax cases.
