My association hired this co to do new roofs for my townhome complex. I just moved in & discovered a leak in my garage roof. I called them to come out & check it out. They scheduled an apt & came out & took a look. They did not discuss any fees involved with the visit & I thought it was covered under my warranty. I thought maybe another area of the roof was also leaking so I asked them to come back out. They scheduled an apt & came out & took a look. Again, they did not discuss any fees involved. Later I was sent a bill for 85.00 service charge. I called them & they said my association should have covered it but didn’t so now it’s my responsibility. I expressed to them they should have discussed fees before they came out. The manager, Tom, said he would settle the fees to only one charge. I was then told the co was going to already be in my area later that month & they would send someone to do a water test on the garage roof to see if it’s a roofing issue. He said there would be no charge. When the employee came out he did the water test & collected the previous owed 85.00. Later I received a bill for 350.00 for a water test. I called the co & the manager, Tom, said he would talk to the owners & get back to me. He never got back to me & I just received another bill for 265.00 (350.00−85.00). I would not deal with this co because they are not honest about their fees up front.

Thank you for coming out to fix my roof. We just purchased our new home and the same day we moved in we had a leak in the basement (which was coming through the roof, through the walls, all the way to the basement). Anyway, S&D came out and fixed my roof, replaced the part that was the problem (I believe it was the vent stack), which was rusted and not replaced by the original roofing company that redid our roof. Thank you for being quick, honest, and thorough. I was able to sleep soundly knowing that our home is safe and free from any leaks.

My HOA called these guys out to do roof work at our condo. It’s been about 6 weeks and they STILL have gutters stacked up in the middle of our courtyard. Additionally, our second floor condo started leaking in the living room and on the balcony after they started work. It’s been 3 weeks since I reported the issue and this morning they are sending out a SECOND person to come «look at» the interior repairs required. I’ll update once this whole fiasco is over with, but I can’t believe the lack of professionalism and quality from the company. DO NOT HIRE THEM!

I noticed that the workers from S & D did not remove the TV antennas and/​or dish receivers on the roof before applying the new roofing compound.
When the workers where either finished for the day or weekend left 5 gallon containers of flammable liquids where left next t to the building. One container had a cloth rag stuffed in the opening.
Damage was done to various plants around the building.
Rowell Management who hired the contractors was where notified on several occasion about the damage. Finally after several telephone calls I received a response,
I have enclosed the response below.
«We did speak with S & D Roofing and did forward your concern, They did report there is some minor plant damage. This in unavoidable. The shingles that are being removed are on a mansard roof. All of the debris falls to the ground. These plants are perennials and will come back. Replacement is not needed.
Roof notices where posted and a warning of minor damage was explained.»
However the plants that where damaged the most, are a good 5 feet away from the building. The way the plants where left indicated that they where damaged by falling objects but where trampled. Plants that where damaged by being crushed where not repaired or replaced.
In the notice posted by S &D it is It the responsibility of the owners of the condo owners s/​a Wethersfield in Schaumburg to lay down traps in the laundry room in case S & D had to remove the skylights, This should be S & D responsibility.
No mention was made about removing/​replacing the antennas and Dish receivers that have been placed upon the roof. Dish charge $ 75.00 to re-​align the Dish receiver on the roof.
The work was to have started on June 10, 2013 (notice posted by both S &D and Rowell Management, it is now July 1^st 2013 and the work has not been completed. Materials have blown off the roof and have been scattered everywhere.
The web site for S & D roofing list only two people, I believe they are only a General Contractor (paper contractor) that solicits jobs then hire substandard day workers to do the actual work.

These were the guys my HOA called to come look at our roof, so I can’t say I had a lot of choice in the matter. But I’m pretty happy with them.
We moved into our townhome in August 2011 and shortly after started hearing a drip-​drip-​drip noise near the chimney (which runs through our bedroom) after long rains.
Fast forward, and we’ve made multiple calls to said HOA over the year, who sent a guy out once to peer at the roof but never came inside (to be fair, I originally thought it might be the chimney cap, which was fine). Finally we’d had it, still hearing that dripping noise every so often and a small water stain was appearing on the ceiling.
So JR from S&D came out to investigate for real. He was very nice, quick to take his shoes off once inside, and thoroughly inspected both the roof and inside the attic to determine that yes, we did have a small leak and no, there wasn’t any serious damage.
It did take about a month for repairs to be done, and there was some miscommunication — I waited awhile, called to check, was told the wrong thing, and eventually told that they had to order a new chimney and it would take another 10 days. But finally, they called to tell me it was happening and lo and behold, we have a new chimney. I’m gonna keep an eye on that water stain, but so far, so good.

S&D Roofing wrongfully charged me $ 150 for a downspout that I didn’t need. I was told by them that it was Village Code that every 38 feet a downspout needed to be put in, when in fact it was not Village Code… it was the manufacture suggestion. Regardless, there should have been an «option» on my part. I was not given an option to put a downspout in, I was told I had to.

Horrible work! When they First Did the Roof They Took My Power Roof Ventalator Without Asking.
But Recently, Roof Started Leaking and they Denined all responsibility,
Told ME it was coming from roof Ventalator.

Way to go S & D YOU SUCK!!!
PS I JUst Wanted MY roof NOT to leak But since you lie maybe i will get my insurance company and their lawyers involved!
